    I actually just bought this same Rx580 on the good old eBay for 78 with tax and shipping. A couple of my buddies went in on a cheap pc for our close pal. Grabbed an optiplex with a 3770, changed the psu, added extra ram. Now he’s jamming medium to high settings in anything he wants. Light years better than his Xbox one, so I guess its really what you are willing to play on. However for a total of 78$ to my door that card can still rip most games thrown at it. I was happily surprised

    I'm not sure what went wrong with your testing but I currently have the MSI RX 580(8GB), which is known as the worst version and I get an average above 60fps on medium settings on Halo Infinite and most modern AAA titles as well. My other components are R5 3600, 16GB DDR4 RAM@3200. None of which are over clocked.

    Been getting a lot of comments saying that the rx 580 is a good card. The overall theme of this video isn’t to crap on the rx 580. It’s to show how the used market is jumbled up with pricing because a 1660 super can be picked up for the same price as an rx 580.
    I once again recommend taking a loot at the 580/570/480 4gb edition if you are looking for a sub 100 dollar card.

    • @loradio537
      @loradio537 Год назад +3

      Thing is, a used RX 580 now costs around $70, at this point price is literally gold if you don't mind having a card used for mining

    • @Chad_Thundernuts
      @Chad_Thundernuts Год назад

      Where I'm from the 1660s still costs a lot more than a 580. I can get a used 8gb 580 for $100 nzd right now, and a brand new 8gb for $165 - $250 nzd.
      Compare that to the 1660s which people are strangely still asking $250 nzd used, and around the $450 nzd new mark for, with both of these prices being the absolute cheapest examples I could find right now.
      In this scenario, when you look at the fps per dollar metric, there is no comparison, the 580 wins by a mile.
      Of course, that is going to differ depending where you live, but for me it was an obvious choice when upgrading my pc for as cheap as possible.
      I do agree however that if the pricing is on par, go with the 1660s or similar any day. But, if the 1660s is still overpriced like it is where I live, just keep an eye out for a deal on a better card. I just snagged a great deal on a (supposedly) lightly used 6600 XT for $300 nzd, so the 1660s doesn't even show up on my radar when looking for GPUs these days. It's just too overpriced for the performance.

    I agree with you on not actively getting an RX 580, but not for your reasons. The RX 580 has now gone through two rounds of cryptocurrency mining, and many will have been heavily mined on. However, if you still have an RX 580, it's still a perfectly good card. You only benchmarked 3 games, and Halo Infinite was notoriously bad on just about all AMD cards, not just the 580. And of course it's not meant to be a 1440p card, so that benchmark was a total waste of time. You can't really pronounce judgement on that small sample size of games. The 580 is great at medium settings 1080p, for most titles today, and high settings for many e-sports titles. But now that the crypto bubble has burst, of course you can find something like an RX 6600XT or an RTX 3060 for sub $200 in the coming months, when it's flooded with used cards.

I would love to upgrade my card however ultimately till I can afford one I've been very satisfied with the performance of this card. yes 1440 isn't 60fps its more like 45 55. however the fact that farcry 6 at 1440 is playable is a feat and a half. honestly if I had any friends in need of a GPU when I swapped I'd give it to them for a absolute steal as these cards are insane for begin 4 years old

    Good clips but I don't think that is worth the upgrade at all. It's closer to a side grade and if it doesn't perform 100% faster it isn't worth it in that price range. Maybe if nvidia would stop increasing their prices 40% every generation we can have good budget mid-range cards again. Doesn't help that Amd is following suit with similar pricing and with intels lack of real dx11 support is making thier cards horrible at legacy gaming. Tsmc is to swamped now for any of us getting gpus for a good price until global foundaries catches up and the new TSMC factory is built here in the states. Not to mention that inflation is hitting hard and the labor market has yet to adjust.

    • @Ithirahad
      @Ithirahad Год назад

      I doubt TSMC is going to drop prices even when more capacity is available, and if they do then GPU manufacturers won't budge, they'll just be thankful for the extra profit margin. It's been shown that people are willing to pay the new prices (well, "new" as in the RTX 2000 and 3000 series pricing) and unless a real third or fourth competitor shows up, there's no reason for AMD or NVidia to start heavily undercutting each other even if they could.

    Btw 1650 struggles in modern games pretty bad go for a minimum rx 6600/ rtx 3060 (or used 1080TI)

    this is going to turn into a giant GPU bubble if it isn't actually already a bubble, ready to pop. nVidia will lose 50+% of their stock price. Amd same thing. I have 90 games in my Steam Library I bought over the years and I didn't even get to install a third of them. Most of these games recommended requirements are at a I7 with an RX580/GTX970 or less. So ... mining is dead for intents and purposes. And why in the world do I need a RTX 4090? To show it off maybe. That's about it. I don't need any of that shit. I have 3.. no 4 different GPUs: a GT 730 ddr5, a GTX 970, a RX 580 8gb and when Cough started I built a pc with a RTX 2080 Super in it. I have not even used that PC more than 40 hours the last 2 years to play a little Metro Exodus which game I don't even like but bought specifically for that card. What a waste of money. 2 years later and the RTX 2080 S is like this old technology. What's the point? It's stupid.
    Not like the games are getting any better either. You can't name a single modern game that could ever, EVER be called better than the original Blood 1, or Quake II. They are more worried about upping the technical requirements and fancy, pointless graphics to make it appear like progress than actually producing a decent game anymore. With some exceptions which are more and more very few and far between.

    not one thing this couldnt run.
    halo infinite, in fact, i got around 80fps stable? i dont remember even seeing 40 fps numbers, thats weird. it also runs rdr2 stable 60, apex at 120, forza horizon 5 at around 80-100, everything 1080p, most low, some medium low
    its overclocked at 1450mhz and memory at 2100 (from 1411 2000), with a ryzen 3100 @ 4.0ghz
