I know right! There’s water and o rings somewhere near the bottom of the bores on these wet aluminum blocks too 😬 I had this same rotating assembly in my iron block and it was way tighter, I had to grind a ton more out on that block to get the clearance. Thanks as always Mike
Great vid, did not know the specific reason that amount of clearance was needed. Might be building a stock block 347 sbf and will need to do this exact procedure, so this came in handy. Looking forward to future videos of your beast build!

Morning Rusty, that’s a great question. I used a plastic 3D printed “checking” piston. Supplied by Icon, it’s super convenient for doing this type of fitting. I will show it in the piston video. Rusty, have you already built your new engine?
Hey Kevin. AweshOme work. i am have a question for thee. i am have a stock 355 010 block and want to fit more than 4" stroke in it for a daily driver. i am confident in a 4.125" stroke. However what would you think about any more than that? The deck is 9.025" and i am considering raising it. Also i am would like to put in thicker sleeves in the block to go larger on the bore size as well. Not anyone would ever expect this monster at a glance externally. 🙂

You may be surprised how much you can remove from the block for an aluminum rod stroker application. Ty for another video on your progress.
