Playing these iron since early 2015. Bought them second hand of ebay. They were practically new. Beautiful clubs. People I play with love the looks. I hit these like a dream. I can still the hit the 3iron 220. No reason for me change into something new. And it is true the trajectory from the 3 iron to the PW isnt that huge. Lower irons stops as it should without the very high ball flight which will die in cross or direct wind. Played the 755's up til these. Steve Stricker is the reason I played the 755's. Jordan Spieth inspired me to switch when he was lights out with the 714's. Spieth switch to the 716's and we all know Spieth struggled. So, I have no reason the switch from my 714's to anything else for now. Just love em!
Thanks for the comment. Looking to grab a used set that are in very good condition, S300 shafts. Little worried about my ball striking for these though, they look quite small.
@@clarklawson6978 Ball strikes should not be an issue. I went from the Ping Eye 2's to the Titleist 755's, which are the same sized heads to the 714's, and my ball strikes were not noticeably different. Trajectory is bit lower though.
Have been playing with these for a couple of months. Really enjoying the soft feel when strike is good. Lovely looking set of irons. Going to be with me for ages.
just got these clubs and absolutely love them!!!! great feel every time hit the ball. even balls that i eat a little off center feel good and they are little more forgiving than i'd expect from other forged irons. They look incredible when lined up with the ball.
I just got fit for the Titleist AP2. I was between the Callaway Apex and this iron. I chose AP2 because it gave me better feed back on mishits. I cannot wait for them to arrive.
Within 2 months of playing with these irons, I had my first hole in one. It was a 172 yard par 2 at my local club (6i). These clubs are great. I never would have chosen these if not for my PGA Pro. These clubs have probably taken 3 - 5 strokes off of my handicap. I'm really enjoying playing with them either way.
I tried the whole 714 range last week, and the AP2's came out top performing or me personally. Coming from the 710 AP2's there was a slight improvement in distance and feel. Unfortunately Titleist UK couldn't offer an 'off menu' shaft option that is available in the US, so I ordered the Ping S55's which performed equally as well as the AP2's for me, and was able to get the shaft option from Ping that I wanted.
amazing irons, I'm 6'7" and got 2" extended and 3 degrees upright, and they are dead on, the gap wedge never leaves the flag, best irons I've ever played
Christian, I'm 3 hcp too and had the cobra s3pro before. I've picked my 714 ap2 yesterday and they are fantastic. same butter feeling but more power and easy to hit. go for it ! thanks Mark for the review
I got my AP2 710s a couple years ago when they first came out, and I love them and probably won't switch until the crumble into dust, but holy bleeping bleep are those 714s pretty.
Matthew Larkin the first Iron shot I hit with my new set this week... hit the stick! no lie these clubs are 100 x better than any club I've ever hit. graduating from taylor made burner 2.0
Would be interesting to see how the 714 CB's & MB's perform with your 6i SS Mark against the AP2's, think the AP2's are one degree stronger loft over the other two's specs? Also does the AP1's give you with your swing any extra distance as say the stronger lofted 'chunkier' JPX -825's, JPX-EZ's or similar do?
A month after this Mark did a video on his top 2014 irons for feel. The one Titleist club he picked of the three was the 714 MB, not the AP2. The Mizuno MP-54 and the Ping s55 were the other two.
I'll be looking at getting these irons custom fit, moving from Titleist 695CBs. Agree with the comment below re: sound - really noticed it on his first shot for some reason. Sounded pretty good.
Hi mark. You set a few years ago that the 710 vs the 712 ap2 weren't that much different. What about 712 vs 714 ap2? Should i go for the cheaper 712 or actually invest in the 714 because there is a lot of new aspects?
I think you if you have one of the 2 previous versions of this club there wouldn't be much point changing. I play the mp53 and it is very tempting to go and try this club as the rest of my bag is titleist but I'm hitting the 53's pretty good at the moment. Still tempted though!!
hey Mark, I'm playing the 710 AP2 (6 hdc). Do you think, I would gain something switching to the 714 ? (of course, they look fantastic !) For sure, the standard shaft would be too heavy for me. I'm playing the Nippon 105, which flight is quite too high. Is there anything in between ? Thanks for your great videos ! André
Mark if you had to choose between this club and the Nike VRS Forged which one would you go for??? I've been Nike daft for years but thinking about changing from the VRS forged to this club.....I love the look of this new AP2.
I've hit the Nike blades forever it seems, but after picking up my 712 AP 2's, I dropped Nike like a hot potato !! I've always liked my Nike's, but, There is nothing like a crisp, shot from a AP2.
Mark, have you done a comparison between these and the taylormade MC irons? i'm torn whether or not to change, the old 712 AP2's gave me not very different numbers on trackman but the consistency was much better...i wonder whether these will be a massive difference?
Mark, does the long irons still show the cavity at address? It was very visible at 710 and 712. That's a dealbreaker to me so really hope that Titleist has eliminated this.
I can't tell you about AP2. But with AP1 (just got it today), you can see a bit the back of the club at address, since the ball position for 4 and 5 iron is more towards the front foot. However, compare to other game improvement clubs, they hide it very very well. I believe AP2 forged will hide the back even better.
Always liked the look of Titleist irons and have tried the MB,CB and AP2's of previous years but somehow the sound at impact never seemed quite right to me (muted, dullish click {as nightfly nick has said} so even flushed irons somehow sounded a bit 'off', maybe magnified in my case as I'm used to a mizuno blade which has a much better sound, to my ear. But I've nearly always used Titleist metals, hybrid and driver: {913F 3 metal (15d), 913 Hd hybrid (18d) & 910D2 Driver (9.5d) stiff shafts all set at A1} and sound is ok. (though sometimes switch to newer driver TaylorM Black R1 TP (9.5d) Often wondered why Titleist don't change the muted click sound on their irons.
Thinking of changing from my mp64's to an iron that can give me a little more forgiveness and distance, what could you recommend? I tried the taylormade tour preferred mc but didn't like the feel.
Hi mark, Im trying to decide between the AP2 714s and the JPX 825 pro. Ive hit them both and love them both, but I cant make a decision. Any suggestions?
I´m thinking about switching my Cobra AMP Forged iron set for the 714 AP2. My opinion is that they´re pretty similar to eachother. I love my Cobraset but I have always loved Titleist as a brand. So what do you think, is it time to go back to Titleist once again? I have a 2,9 hcp.
I'm a little undecided which should I go for AP1 or AP2 I'm off 18 HCP and currently use MP53 in a KBS Tour Stiff, a bit harsh and heavy at times, especially on mishits. Any comments will be appreciated.
If you're feeling confident with your swing take the ap2. I'm playing with them too also kbs tour stiff stell shift and i have to say theyre pretty damn good.
NIklas Da Silva dont hesitate, go try the demo clubs out at your range. they truly are lovely to look down on and the control is immense, I've found it easy to carve out nice shaped shots, and the sound my 4 iron makes is just music to any golfers ears. IMO 5*
hit them both yesterday. if i closed my eyes i wouldnt be able to tell the difference in feel or sound. same numbers from both. chose the ap2s purely because its a u.s. company but both are great and the origin of the company was all i had to tip the scales.
I have MP-53s and my mate bought AP1s not too long ago, I still prefer the feel my Mizuno's over the AP1, don't like the feel at all. Sort of a dull, hollow feel and I don't really get the sense of the forged feel, the still feel like a cast club to me. I may change my clubs soon, but it certainly will not be for the AP1s.
Josh Galvin: Mark has already reviewed AP2 712 quite favorably. What earth-shattering comment would you expect a) with minor tweaks to an existing product with the 714, b) that Mark would say at Clifton Hill that he didn't at St. Ives? Really very little to risk for Mark.
Just hit the AP2 at GG, and I think I like the 712 better. I didn't find the club to be any improvement over the old. I usually am excited to see new Titleist products, but it was just ok.
In all honesty, I don't think you should review with someone who works for the brand as then you can sometimes be a tad bias, intentional or not, just my view
John Rambo I hope you're not this boob doing it - if you're going to hit practice shots then hit practice shots - leave the theatrics for the tournament

I just got a set of the 714 ap2 for Christmas. Though they have been out a few yrs, they are an upgrade for me from my 990b's. Can't wait to play them
4:30 oh little did he know what 2024 looked like
I like how the video is 7:14 long... Coincidence? Lol
Keep up the good work Mark

Most personable and well presented videos out there. Great job Mark, very informative...like having Golf Digest Magazine on RUclips.

+Eric Figueroa thanks for the reply, I'll have to sneak them into the bag without the wife noticing ;)

That sounds great! Do you even notice that the ap2:s is a little bit more offset then the cobra?
funny how the video length is 714
haha suddenly that the focus or it just coincident 714
If you could do the rest of the series that would be great Mark thanks!
I got my AP2 710s a couple years ago when they first came out, and I love them and probably won't switch until the crumble into dust, but holy bleeping bleep are those 714s pretty.
Had these for a week... Since buying them I have shot 2 of the best rounds of my life.
Matthew Larkin the first Iron shot I hit with my new set this week... hit the stick! no lie these clubs are 100 x better than any club I've ever hit. graduating from taylor made burner 2.0

nice slow mo of the twirl Mark Crossfield !!
I put my ap2 in to play for the first time at the weekend after trading my 712cb
Big big difference really happy
A must try

Fitted and ordered R300 with the AP2!
Real nice irons- I think you should give them a try. I have the Project X PXI shafts in mine.
Did anyone realise that he was testing the 714 ap2 and the vid lasted 7:14
I'm ordering them next week, can't wait!
714 ap2,, one of the best irons ever
The Titleist rep. is disappearing in the slow-mo sequences, he must be a fast mover! ;-)
Would like to see the numbers of the ap2 712 against 714's??

pretty high swingspeed for an iron. Do you use x100s

andy walker your mom says hi
Christian Söderström You two still out shopping?!?!
Chad Henderson You know it!
I wish I could get these... But they are way to expensive as of now. Great looking irons, though.
Great vids as always
Please review the AP1
This club look amazing
Do u think these would be suitable for low 20 handical

That bloke is no Chris Voshall! About as exciting as a dead dog. Why'd you let him speak Mark? ;) Gorgeous looking club.
Is their much difference between ap2 710 and the 714
I play the 712 AP2's and I love them
the 714 AP2s are the only club that might make me ditch my Mizuno loyalism. Id like to see the MP 54 vs the AP2 714
hit them both yesterday. if i closed my eyes i wouldnt be able to tell the difference in feel or sound. same numbers from both. chose the ap2s purely because its a u.s. company but both are great and the origin of the company was all i had to tip the scales.

great video thanks!
On my way to St Ives I met a man with ... seven nine irons?
Just replaced my old set of 710 AP2's with these .... awesome

the sound stood out to me...muted click
I'VE GOT THEM!!!!
and?...what do you think of them?
they are great good feeling, good contact, prefect clubs, loads of backspin, very nice
Ping i25 vs titlest ap2 714
THIS VIDEO IS 7:14 mins long haha
quit twirling your club after every practice shot -
let the man have his fun
one man's fun is another man's viewing annoyance (hehe)
Pat Bordash Quit whining like a little bitch.
John Rambo I hope you're not this boob doing it - if you're going to hit practice shots then hit practice shots - leave the theatrics for the tournament
Pat Bordash Mind your own business. Who cares what he does.
Why do you repeat everything he says in order to sound smarter? I can't stand how you don't let the experts speak.
+jerryrice4 oh no you think he is going to say anything but good. He works for the company 🙈
Do u think these would be suitable for low 20 handical
