    Gaz I am with you on the finish, and we all pull our wedges left as amateurs. SM10 gets my vote

    Quiet a big difference in those for you Gaz. I still can't get rid of my original vokey 52° it just works for me 🏌️
    Give the mizuno s23 a review for us more mortals, seems a great all rounder wedge.

    It's very tight looking at the data from a performance perspective, 100 rev's is marginal and offers such a minuscule difference to be of any significants for even tour players. Therefore the 2 benefits I can see is its looks and if you pull to the left this appears to assists.
    I currently play the SM9's and wouldn't be looking to change and at £169 for the SM10 vs £129 for the SM9 I'd seriously look the SM9 today saving £40 per stick, that equates to £80 to £120 saving depending on your setup i.e. 2/3 wedges.

    Love the old brick building that has probably been there for over 100 years really cool.

    I bought a nearly new SM6 last summer. 52 loft, 8 bounce. It spins more than my 56 degree SM9 and 60 degree SM8. It actually spins so much that I can't use it on most full shots because it will rip back off the green.

    • @rossadamdixon
      @rossadamdixon 4 месяца назад +2

      That's because the optimum loft at impact to get spin is around 47 degrees. Higher and you get the ball sliding up the face more.
      It's easier to get to that number with a 52 for most people (little shaft lean).
      I don't believe there will be a huge difference in spin between a 52 sm6 Vs a 52 sm10.

    I once read that Bubba Watson had his clubs made with the face open so that they were correct for him at impact, it makes sense really. Imagine if we all had our clubs made like this 😲

    Gaz - one key point you have missed out on, same as I have just pointed out to JR - the heat treatment to make the grooves last longer as well.
    This is a major improvement for any wedge - longevity, at least longer time to change than an SM9 !!!🤪🤪🤪

      I must of missed that point when reading about them. Great one 👌🏼

    Gaz, thanks mate, great review. Have Titleist fiddled with the swing weight? Just found their wedges heavy in the swing feel.

    • @craigedga4r
      @craigedga4r 3 месяца назад

      Wedge flex shaft - i think they are a little heavier than usual - this year 110g!

    These will probably save 4 strokes, your new fitted driver 4 strokes, and the the hybrid 2 strokes.
    So look out Robbie cos you will be +10.
    Get real !

    Lessons, lessons, lessons and practice, will improve most amateurs far more than new grooves and or wedges. Great review, but not sure it will impact most of your viewers.

    Sm9 feels softer. But I'm performing better with the 10's. Probably the fitting works better I guess.

    couple of things Gaz why the 60 not sure if its just me but i only use my 60 for getting over or out of green side bunkers lol i could be doing that wrong, but i use my 56 for chipping around greens, also i just bought the 56 hi toe a few months back, would you mix wedges as i’m replacing my 52 in the next couple of weeks or stick to the hi toe, deffo prefer no glare though everyone must of had the shot where you just cant see when the sun hits the wedge

  • @paulbooij7594
    @paulbooij7594 3 месяца назад

    That extra spin is just because you hit it a tiny bit harder. Spin takes speed. Which is why you don't spin your 60* 10,000 RPM on a 20 yard pitch.

    • @jadenngl
      @jadenngl 2 месяца назад

      Nah it actually does spin more. I'm unbiased. Demoed them a couple days ago but I just got new wedges. But my 3 week old sm9s spin less. And they do actually launch slightly lower, nothing that'll affect your game or score at all but they do launch lower with numbers

  • @paulbooij7594

    Every year they "raise the cg for a lower, more penetrating ball flight "

    You should have shown the total average data from each club, for 100 shots. Alternating between clubs, so you aren't warming up with one, and hitting the other one well

    Vokeys are amazing wedges and always have been but lets be realistic, they say the same marketing bit ever release and nothing other than the look is changing

      I’m not reviewing the cost, I’m reviewing the difference in both wedges. You can make your own mind up on value 👌🏼
