What a great job sharing this story. This bit of Humboldt History has been my very favorite story for most of my life. I loved seeing the ship from the drone's view!

Yes! Jon Gate's new book "Before the Dolphin Guild" has some really interesting new details about the H-3, from personal journals of submariners who experienced the stranding. It's available at the library.

Great video... I really enjoy your channel. My family and I started our channel about six months ago to share our beautiful community with the youtube world... It'd be great to collaborate with you in the future.... your videos are really well done, lots of work and vision put into each. Running a channel with great videos isn't as easy as it's made to look that's for sure... Dock

Thanks! While working on this, I was really surprised at how many long-time locals didn't know much or anything about this story. Jon Humboldt Gate's recent book has some new details about the sub and ship strandings - it's a riveting read!

Eureka Books, Northtown Books in Arcata. The MIlwaukee story is in Humbook, but he also recently published a "Humbook 2".
