    Not true about the kids. English is taught in all schools but most kids communicate in Swahili or local slang called sheng. Others speak their dialect...especially in the villages. There are a lot of Wazungus now so the kids don't get excited as they used to unless you go to the inner villages.

There is pilau, biriani, githeri 😉 and many Kenyan food that you didn't try and they are not tasteless! And we aren't used to being all smashed in a bus sweaty like you are describing.     The runners are not maasai but Kalenjins. Actually its not true that they are the only ones who can run' just that they got the exposure politically. Luhyas and Kisiis are great sprinters and long distance eg. Hellen Obiri. Try exposing western Kenya in athletics u will see Hussein Bolt record broken.

      Kikuyu community produced athletes too in the late 1980s, i.e. Douglas Wakiihuri (a Japanese resident) and John Ngugi (from Nyahururu)

      @@tfl4963 I am surprised how you are argueing with facts. 99% are Kalenjins na kama sio Kalenjins they are half cast of some other tribe and Kalenjin, kina the late Samwel wanjiru the dad was Kalenjin, Rudisha as well etc. Even thise 90's you talking about Kalenjins were the ones...check their history...it was part of their culture to be fit and considering the altitude of where they live

    New subscriber. Yes it's true thaT Kenyans love identifying their tribes. I'm a Kenyan and am a Pokomo by tribe born and raised in Taita so am also a Taita in a way and I know a little bit of Kikuyu songs so also a Kikuyu. May God always help us Kenyan's remember that as much as we have different tribes, we are all created by One God, we are related. Glory To Jesus Christ.
