- Let's paint a 20" MDF wall art round in the dot art mandala style with Butterflies & Bubblegum! Follow along as I create this unique 20" wall art that would be every child's dream to have in their room!
This step-by-step tutorial walks through the layout, colour palette, dot art painting, swooshes, clean up, varnishing and adding little diamond shaped mirrors.

Exceptional, you are so talented. This would be a beautiful gift for a daughter, granddaughter or niece, for a special occasion or birthday. I love the way you lead us through this, as if we were doing this piece with you.
This design I think could be done in various sizes depending on where pink swooshes end and the outer edge of the purple and blue border of dots. If you are agreeable could you possibly give us the measurements to the outside edges of the double pink and purple/blue swooshes please. I know this is a big and very cheeky ask but I can see this being made in maybe three or four sizes, to display as a collage on a feature wall of any females room.
Hi Lyn, Thank you so much for your kind words! To help out with the measurements see the following:
From the centre to the outer edge of the complete inner set of circle dots it is 2.5 cm
5.5 cm from the centre to the bottom edge of all the purple shades of swooshes
6 cm to the outer edge of the Indian Turquoise dots that surround those purple swooshes
7 cm from centre to the outer edge of the 1st row of alternating swooshes
10.5 cm from centre to the inner edge of the Lavender row of dots
11.5 cm from centre to the outer edge of the Calypso Blue round of dots
13.5 cm from centre to the inner side of the 2nd row of alternating swooshes
14 cm from centre to the outer side of those alternating swooshes
4.5 cm measuring from the outer side of those alternating swooshes to the top of the next set
The next set of alternating swooshes is from 19-20 cm (from centre)
20-24 cm from centre are for the last row of flowers
24-25cm from centre is the last row of alternating swooshes.
