My advice is to really visualize two of the lines that intersect at 90 degrees. Sometimes I will remove some of the other lines in the centre as I find them distracting. Also sometimes I will use a circle stencil and line it up very carefully to outline a circle in the size of the centre dot you want. The centre dot is really the foundation of the whole piece which is why it’s so important to get it centered. Trust me… I have removed plenty centre dots because they just weren’t right. lol If it’s not right, I just remove it and start again. Sometime you can use a fine tipped tool to smooth out any flat edges. I hope this helps. 💗

First you need to find the centre of your piece. I have a video showing how to do this called “Finding Centre & Creating Gridlines for your Best Mandala” Draw a line through centre dividing your piece in half. Next, decide on the degrees of your sections. On a piece this large I created 64 sections to give me lots of gridlines Using a protractor mark out your degrees using your line as your base. Honestly I typically start with 16 x 22.5 degree segments and then split them in half to get 32 and in this case I split those in half again to get 64. Just depends on how many gridlines you want. Next, measure your mirror. Divide that measurement in half and use that measurement for the first circle you create with your compass. Place the compass on your centre dot and using a chalk pencil create your first circle. I would add just a tiny bit to that measurement to make sure your mirror will fit in the space just a hair. After this I increase the size of the circles by 0.5 cm increments. So use a ruler and starting from your first circle mark 0.5 cm segments along one of your lines. This will give you the points at which to place your compass and then create your circles. In the end you will not need all the lines in the middle but they will be covered with your mirror. Thank you Pauline! Honestly, I chose them so I could do videos of smaller rounds for beginners. Typically I paint on MDF, wood or bamboo. These are quite flimsy but great to practice on or do small pieces for home. I feel they’d need to be thicker to sell or like you said glue a couple together. But for video purposes it worked well. This one is canvas, which I don’t often work on. I have some thin wood ones as well from the Dollar Store but again the possibility of warping exists there too. My larger boards are MDF and most of them are 1/4”. No issues with them warping for me and I love the smoothness of the surface for dotting. On my MDF pieces, my husband adds a small block of MDF to the back with glue and I attach a D ring hanger to it. Otherwise for smaller pieces I have found self-adhesive sawtooth hangers that work well. That is what I would use on this piece if I were going to hang it. PS … your work is beautiful! I love the cancer survivor piece you did. I am a breast cancer survivor so it is dear to my heart. 💗

I got a set of 2 a couple of years ago at Lee Valley Tools. Unfortunately I believe they have stopped selling them. 🥲

Yes they don't but still have it on their website. I searched for one, but I could not find d anything bigger than 12"

The largest one I have that I got from them was 16” I think.
