This is by far the cheeriest version of this tune i have heard to date. It has always stricken me as odd that such a jovial song was inspired by and named after what was essentially a 17th century death march.
Death March, Heroic March. Everyone's dead now, so they're the same thing. Happy or sad, we're all dead. Better to greet death with a happy grin, a spring in your step and a bottle of gin. That's my motto.
