Scott, keeping surfing San O! Remember, the best surfer is the one who’s having the most fun! Great vid! 🤙🏼

Wonderful and funny vid … love how you have a sense of humor about yourself & life! I especially loved seeing it because in the late 50’s & early 60’s my family used to surf there (driving down from Malibu for the weekend) … when it was a private club (pros & cons to that). Anyways, it’s where I got turned onto surfing as a 9 years old and it became my whole world, as it was for my parents … so much so we moved to North Shore Oahu on a surf spot. And I have observed that taking up surfing for adults is much more challenging than for kids … so maybe just be a silly kid. Now at 73, I am working on being a silly kid again as once I grew up I became too serious. Anyways, even tho I still live Hawai’i, I really miss the San’O family beach layed back slo mo culture that is not here. And so happy to see it still thriving there!

Thank you, the humorous approach was a "I am going to make fun of myself before you can" sort of thing.I do want to be seriously good, some day.

You should go to some place like seal Beach pier or Newport pier and stay away from the crowds and other people you're clearly unexperienced and it could be very dangerous not only for you but experienced surfers

Thanks for the input. However, it was a class field trip. Most of us were inexperienced. Also, I know all too well that I suck! Did I ever claim to be good? And since I know I suck, I am extra careful to avoid people. I have only been there twice, I do prefer Newport, actually. So, I agree with your advice, but you clearly missed the point of my video. I also stick to the white water. But at the same time, surfing is dangerous no matter who you are. Danger just comes with the activity. Thanks for trying to make me look like a clueless jerk!

@@ScottLives no you're not a jerk Im sorry if I made you feel that way, just be safe out there. Continue to go, practice practice practice and eventually you'll get the hang of it but it takes time A lot of time. Remember it's not only an activity, for some people it's a way of life. After enjoying surfing for many many years , and when you come to a point where those days become fewer and very far between, you always think about surfing because it literally is in your blood, it has been your life. 🤙 Aloha, good luck and enjoy
