- World Champion Skimboarders Blair Conklin and Lucas Fink charge the Shorebreak of Aliso Beach during Hurricane Hilary. Hurricane Hilary provided us with some of the best conditions we have seen all summer long. Light offshore winds paired with a sizeable southeast swell made for an exciting day to be a skimboarder in South Laguna.

This is why I like skimboarding. No lines, no one else on the beach, you dont have to worry so much about doing it alone out in the rip currents and sh*t. You see a wave coming and you spontaneously run for it. Shorter runs but easier to catch waves.

I just got a skimboard and a wetsuit. Just found out about skidkids and Blair his gang. I was the guy who use to service those paystations down at Aliso when the county owned it till they gave it back to the city. Now I have to pay for parking to park there. I didn’t realize Aliso is the Mecca of skimboarding till I watched RUclips videos. I should of started when I got free parking there. Now the city charges $3/hr to park at Aliso. What a bummer. Hope to see you guys down there some day.
