Cool little bike. Brought home a 2024 model yesterday for 10yo grandson. His first rip today on it & he did really well. He's still racing 65 class, but maybe start 85C after FCA MotoCamp this summer. Anyway, he was all smiles, all day!
Best mod for this bike is the Tokyo-mods carburetor accelerator return spring and a richer leak-jet. Takes away that bog and hard to start issue. With that spring you'll instantly hear & feel the engine become way more snappy & quicker revving. Almost sounds like a 250f race bike with that spring installed. Hope someone gets to try it out. You'll love it.
Great video, awesome build! They're really popular as a mini-sumo. Ive got one and also an 85 (Coincidentally the 150 is currently blown up). They're a blast to run on kart tracks though and since i've gotten my 85, I can totally see what you're saying about having to carry so much more speed and I find myself doing that on the kart tracks. Basically being forced to stay in that powerband is also forcing me to carry more speed and therefore get faster.
My little brother has an '08 crf150rb and he keeps up with me on my kx250f no problem. These little bikes are insane. I would really like to see honda update this bike and give it an aluminum frame and fuel injection. However, I disagree on you with the e start. That's just unnecessary weight on a smaller bike like this. If you have problems starting it, grow some leg muscle.
They should have added e start 5 years ago, it has nothing to do with whether you can kick it over or not. Alum frame, e start, carb, bare alum rims, not blacked out, and 'sold' !
Ethan Robinson how about when a cam bolt backs out and breaks the cam chain, cam gear, chain tensioner, the cases, and twists the cam, then rockets out through the valve cover?
tyler zesiger never heard of a 150r doin that but ya know happens once and all 150r’s are hand grenades as you put it. Never had to change a bolt on the bike and I rode it hard got too big for it and was still able to throw it around track or trail
Be a awesome bike for a small wife if it had E start , my wife is 5 ft tall and fits a xr100 perfect, we thought about getting her a crf150rb to ride enduro off rd stuff, my buddies kid raced a crf150rb so in chat I found out these bikes can be a prick to start and often run hot out on the trail, my daughter has a kx100, I ordered a flywheel weight make it run better for trail riding. If wifey likes it, I'll get her a kx100 too.
Curious if these 150s can run in the 85 class ?? And if so are you allowed to increase displacement for the super mini class ?? And if so what are they increasing them to?? I mean a 112 2 stroke vs a 150 four stroke isn’t really even … right ?
We race 110's in 65cc and 150's in 85cc classes. In the nationals there are guys, like Carson Brown, Matty B & StankDog, that run a 125 2t in the 250 main. It's a crazy world!
I’m curios - did u change the jetting ? My girl just got a 2020....and the damn thing CAME with a lean bog so bad, it wasn’t even rideable . Had to get the r & d power bowl, and raise pilot to 42. That was very disappointing.
I seen a 150 that was air cooled why would they do that it looked newer too and I would go with the 85 they are lighter and low to going their neck out stupid fast on one of those and 125s
I have one and they are amazing for a woods/trail bike with a bash plate and bark busters etc. only thing is they get very hot and when they are hot they are hard to start, very hard. I find when coming to a hard enduro section and i stall it I have to take it back and roll start it... but otherwise they are great 👍
Yes-- your almost as tall as me :-) I would go for a big wheel version -- which are hard to find or get a 125cc two stroke and work on your skills in easier to ride terrain
This bike is awesome looking but it makes me sad to see the 2 strokes disappearing, it takes the affordability out of the dirtbike hobby, some of these 4 stroke bikes when they have an engine failure, it's cheaper to buy another running bike than it is to fix, I had a buddy give me a crf250 that dropped a valve for free and when I priced the parts it was going to cost over $2000 dollars and the bike needed even more work than that so I gave the bike to another buddy for free for him to swap another engine on to, I see alot of 4 strokes for sale with no motor or trashed motors for cheap because they usually aren't worth fixing and some of the parts are brutally expensive. I'm a 2 stroke man myself but I like bullet proof 4 strokes like honda xr's and yamaha ttr's, but these high performance race 4 strokes are just so fragile and are high maintanance. I will always be a diehard 2 stroke guy but those bikes are getting old and it's hard to find ones that aren't clapped out or rigged beyond repair.
@@redrider2503 that's a bullet proof 4 stroke like honda xr yamaha ttr, etc.. the unreliable ones are the race bikes like the crf250 and 450s and things like that. Bullet proof 4 strokes are wonderfull and tons of fun but them race 4 strokes require deep pockets to keep running.

They do just not a motocross bike sadly
Kawasaki has the klx 140 but it’s really bad and slow
I wish ktm has a 150 4 stroke

Those CRF150R would beat the crap out of an 85 also it’s not slow it’s a perfect pit bike.
Yep
No, an 85 2 stroke will be faster on the track.
yep
I’m glad Honda make Bikes where they take that powerband out of all the gears!
Speaking of I just bought a akropovic muffler and now it feels like it has a power and in all the gears. Do you know why?

My 150rb is VERY hard to start in the 35 degree and below weather takes about 15 minutes of pure kicking
They are 5 years late on e start, goofy
that they don't get that, and that they don't
over this or 200cc with alum frame.
What octane fuel was run at the time because with 150s with a big bore kit they should usually be running higher than 91
