  • This is the first time this bike has been started in over a year... It's a 2021 Honda CRF150RB with a set of Tusk Impact wheels for the R so we call it an R/RB. It only has like 3 hours of ride time on it so it's practically brand new. We bought it for Brianna's mom then immediately found out she was pregnant with Corey. So that is why the bike has not been ridden much, that and the first time my wife rode it she whiskey throttled it and flipped it into an icy puddle 🤦‍♂️ This upcoming indoor flat track season I'm thinking about racing it out there

    THE EASIEST WAY TO STAART 150rs is to turn the gas on give it 5 min turn the choke pump the throttle 3 times then kick with no throttle

    • @213djw
      @213djw 6 месяцев назад

      I do the same thing with my 150r but I twist the throttle 2 times then turn the choke on, I found that if I twist the throttle with choke on it floods the carb, but every bike is different

  • @donmiller8716
    @donmiller8716 Год назад +12

    Don't lean it over. Choke on, don't pump the throttle, kick until it fires. Once it fires and idling really low give it a minute then slowly open the throttle and it will idle up higher

    I find that after I’ve had a bike for awhile, whether it’s electric start, carb, fuel injected, I get to know it’s little ways about how it like to be woken up. They all have some quirks.

  • @carlostrujillo3854
    @carlostrujillo3854 Год назад +2

    No issues with start up that is normal, just needs a few kicks to get the fuel circulating to the carb...I started my 19kx100 today after a month that I havent rode it is 30 degrees outside, pulled the choke gave it about 9 kicks and it fired up, it died 3 times since it was cold but each start up idled longer and longer until it went brrrrrmmmm high idle and held on choke let it warm for 5-9 min with choke then I released it and it stayed on...I have my set screw set really low idle so if I don't twist the throttle a hair it will eventually die on its own, il prob adjust that sometime. if you flood the carb turn the fuel off on the petcok and kick it till it flushes some fuel out you will see that dripping off your line under the bike..the bike will start with the fuel off but remember to turn it on so it don't choke out

  • @Mrbiker-777

    Don’t be tipping the bike to get fuel into the carb the bike is already made to do that. Just turn on the gas and let it sit for 5 minutes then pull the choke, this will let more gas then air enter the cylinder and will be easier to start and be less prone to flooding. Also don’t kick it like it’s a drum take your time

  • @chloemx7534
    @chloemx7534 2 года назад +7

    That’s the down side with 150’s, if they’ve been sitting for a while it takes forever to kickstart. Try kicking it slowly a few times and give it gas, no other things really that you can do. Like what you did seems to have worked decent, getting gas through the carb

    A trick to never having a failed start. At the end of every ride, shut off the fuel petcock and let the bike idle until the carburator runs dry and bike dies. If you don't do this every time you ride, the ethynol fuel with plug the carburator jets.

      @@MotoFamMayhem I learned the hard way on my CRF100F. I let the bike set for a few months with the old ethanol fuel. The jets got plugged, I had to remove the carburetor and clean jets - major pain. Now I always run the carb dry after every single start up of the bike. I also add a little Seafoam gas additive when refueling. After using this technique, the bike has never failed to start 🤙

    • @MotoFamMayhem
      @MotoFamMayhem  Год назад

      A couple backfires on deceleration would be considered normal.... And besides I'm sure you're referring to afterfire, backfiring is when the combustion comes back out the intake that's why 4 strokes have a backfire screen before the filter or it'll catch on fire. An afterfire fire is when unburnt fuel is ignited within the exhaust system (after combustion) hope that makes sense 🤔

    • @MotoFamMayhem
      @MotoFamMayhem  2 года назад +1

      The seat height of the R is about the same as an 85 and the RB would be about the same as an 85 big wheel I'd imagine. As far as height I'd say you're "technically" already too tall for the R but I have no idea of your preferred riding style or skill level. As you can see in this video I'm an adult riding the R variation and I'm 3 inches taller and 20 or so pounds heavier and I really enjoy the bike but I mainly ride a full sized 250F. As it would compare to the TTR well it will have a clutch and it's water cooled higher compression for race performance and MX suspension.... I'm sure there's alot more including gear ratio and such but you probably get the idea here it's way higher performance than the TTR110.... Your talking the difference between a pit bike and a race bike, and legend has it the CRF150R is a scale replica of the CRF450R ✊😁
