How do I configure Retro Arch with the TE mod. It only seems to allow me to map port x to one control set at a time. Select / Start are frustrating that way.
Hello. Good video. Starting the whole MOD process tomorrow. Questions: (1) As of July 2024, do I still need MDE 1.0 plus the update patch? (2) Do I need to modify the exclusion list for every single game I want to add? Or is that a pre-made file that covers everything? Thank you.

I was able to install it successfully however the controls don't work when I load the games. Just the live button to exit. Any idea where I went wrong? Thanks
I only have guesses. BUT let's play the guessing game. Go into RetroArch, and configure each control one at a time. Make sure all your connections are secure. If you're having issues with a repackaged apk, make sure it is listed in the exulsion list, and make sure you hit enter on the exclusion list or it will not populate. Again all just guesses.
Thank you for your amazing videos! The Simpsons bowling take a long time to load and has worse graphics and no sound after installing the MDE 4 player fix and patch. Is that normal and do you know of a way to make it better?
Connect to WiFi. And Update the Stock Software. The OG game was shit, and you have to have the a1up patch to fix it. Thanks for checking out the Channel. Means a ton to me.
@@TechicallyTNT I wasn't sure if that would wipe out the MDE changes but I updated it and the stock games are much much better now and the 4 player MDE is still working. Next is setting up RetroArch / DIG and then the 12-in-1 USB encoder for Golden Tee and other track ball games... Or should I do the encoder and then RetroArch...? I never would have gotten this far without you, Dawson and Alex. Thanks again!
Hey! I’ve tried patching this several times and it fixed most issues but I still can’t get the tmnt + games to register me adding coins to start them. Any advice?
I'm not sure as I've not had that issue, BUT what I would check is the following. Make sure you check that the apk name for the tmnt+ apk has been added to the exclusion list, AND verify that you have the newest version of that tmnt+ apk installed. Hope that helps, and thanks fornchecking out the video.
I've never had any issues, so as far as recovery it's hard for me to say. I've never seen the recover screen you speak of. That said, in some of the groups on FB and Discord, a few people have been unlucky, Much like Yourself, and had this issue. From that small group of people, I've been informed that using a higher quality usb cable and running the proccess again seemed to fix it. Another gentleman claimed he was able to overcome this issue, by using a better quality PC. Good Luck, and I would recommend connecting with others who have had the issue in the groups on fb and discord.
I can't seem to get retroarch to remember the port device for TE. It seems everytime i load, the Device is empty and i need to touch the joystick in order to "wake" it in order for retro to see it in the input settings. Anyone else having that problem? I'm trying to map homer controls to port1
I Think the issue you're speaking of is that RetroArch asigns the first joystick used as player 1, the next as player 2, etc. If so everyone has that issue.
@@jasonsharpee6787 No Sir, I've "Fix" the issue by adding coin buttons and using them as select keys in retroarch, I then program retroarch to exit to the Menu via the Start and Select Keys pressed at the same time. I've also set RetroArch to let any player access the menu. This "Fix" Let's me exit in to the RetroArxh Menu from any player controls. That said, my "fix" will not help you unless you add working buttons. I've got a video if you'd like to check it out.

Yes Sir, You've got to install the MDE, Patch it, and once done you can add the APKs to the exclusion list so they'll still work. I've got a video that shows you how to do it, I'd recommend checking out my play list.

When I try and patch it i cant use my joystick to authorize i can do it on the initial program just fine but after that i have no control and my cab never saves the setting to authorize
@@TheGingerlie you should have 1 micro, and one full size. Place the keyboard/mouse into the full size USB, and the computer into the Micro.... SMH... Gingers.....
@TechicallyTNT haha no, my cabinet is the MvC one it only has a micro USB and that's it. But it's the same patching method, I did it manually with adb but it sadly doesn't add the white list. But for now I have retroarch so I can just download all the roms I want.
@@TheGingerlie My Bad Thought you where on the Simpsons. Can You try a USB adapter and hub? Maybe that will work. I don't have that cab to play with so I'm just guessing. BUT that may work...
After writing to the pcb and reboot, i never get the adb authorization pop-up. Tried the process 3 times. Is there a secret to getting the auth screen to show. Also the discord link has expired
@@TechicallyTNT I did several times, what ended up working was installing Android Studio on my laptop and installing ADB drivers in that tool. Magically the authorization screen popped up right after installation of that finished and was able to continue TE mod application.

When people have reached out to me regarding this issue, The FIX most of the time is a high quality Micro USB cable. IF that doesn't help, try a faster computer.
i dont think this has anythign to do with the cabl since it happens before the machine is even connected and on. this is just the initial verify before the pcb is connected @@TechicallyTNT
side note. This is the one that is patched and from the archive site. Ive also tried the original unpatched version from 2022 and it connects to the PCB but says no boot image even though the arcade boots and has been recently factory reset. ive also updated to simpsons 1.35

1 is a Yes, 2 is also a yes. Each apk should have a name in brackets make sure your list has that info in it. Also, Thanks for checking out the video.

Try using the USB keyboard to authorize. I was able to do it with my Joystick just fine.
