There’s actually a theme on some of the rollercoasters! Balder, Valkyria and Loke are all rides named after the Norse mythology. In that part of the park there’s also decorations associated with the theme. 😊
*wOw balder is my favourite norse god before thor lol*
And the area where Balder is located used to be named Balders hage (Balders pasture) before Liseberg took over the area. Also not far from the park you have the Ullevi Stadium which also is a Norse name...
@@SweToron också nära vallhallabadet 😂
They should get one named Thor now
Valkyria is not a god.
It actually doesn't really get dark in Sweden at night during summer, so you could only get night rides in fall.
@Jacob Olsson nah nlt really
depends on where u live in sweden. I live in the northern sweden and here it looks like daytime when it’s night. But in southern sweden, it still gets darker. And black at some point.
alva but is the same in gothenburg
@@gustavaldin4810 No , here in north of sweden in summer the sun never sets, you get darker in the south.
@@alva000 It does but only for like a few hours, sun usually sets at 11 but it only gets totally dark around 12 and before 03 it's already bright again
Atmos fear is the tallest drop tower in Europe. It's 116 meter tall, and standing on the hill, you even go higher than the skyscrapers next to Liseberg
Edit: it isn't the tallest one anymore, it once was but not anymore
@Muxy HD 2 meters...
@Rodimus Prime??
@Muxy HD here's the link to Lisebergs website and it says 116 meters www.liseberg.se/attraktioner/atmosfear/
Its not skyscrapers it’s a hotel I’m Swedish and I go there every year soo...
@@ernstthoren102 soo...? I am Swedish too and have an annual pass, so I go there every week, and a hotel can be a skyscraper. Soo...
I´m from stockholm, Sweden and I love the way you say Liseberg, Gröna Lund and Kolmården.
I laugh everytime you said "LisaBurg"
så sant 🤣😂😂😅
Haha sant
Japp
Ja
Jag me 🤣 eller jag menade att du skratta
2:50 that moment when you drink too much coffee and ride a Sky Roller
The GOAT Mario Lemieux 😏😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
legend has it, he’s still spinning to this day
they actually have a score counter for how many "loops" you do in a single ride
they have score counter for the spins! its really fun!
Haha I lovge this comment xD
1:58 "Hopefully I pronounced that right." Well... you tried. xD
Lisuburgbänen
Hahaha det ger sig
Yes got to visit this park in April of 2018. It is an absolutely beautiful park. I think the most interesting thing for me is that it was the quietest park I’ve ever been to. And I know it’s the most enthusiast that’s something we generally don’t think of when it comes to amusement parks. The architecture and landscaping We’re absolutely gorgeous. It kind of reminded me of if you were to take Coney Island and cross it with Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Another thing that shocked me is that Liseberg had such a vast variety of ride collection for such a small park.I actually ate the Swedish meatballs there because beyond the coaster enthusiast I am a food enthusiast I generally know each and what area the food that they make is famous for. That was very good and they put it in a garlic butter and served What was the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had. Am I definitely going to go back absolutely. I one hundred percent recommend everyone that can visit here to go
I would guess that all of those trees and other vegetation helps alot with noise levels. :-)
That's because you were there during the off-peak season.
I was born in Stockholm and I lived there for the first 30 years of my life before moving north.
I still consider Gröna Lund to be my "home park", but if I had to chose between 'Grönan' and Liseberg, it would be Liseberg every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
It's just so lush and green, it feels "homey" and inviting. It is a park I would buy a year pass to, so that I could enter "on a whim" just to walk around, without even riding anything.
I love that place, and the city of Göteborg aswell!
This is easily one of my most anticipated parks in Europe, along with Helix being one of my top bucket list coasters, Great Review!
Coaster Frenzy bro you definitely have to visit there if you go to Europe
Sean Matrai Oh for sure man
Do valkyria to
Helix is great, and Loke is fantastic. Valkyria is great too, and beautifully themed, but an annoyingly short ride. I was there two weeks ago and managed to do 7 rides each on Helix, Loke and Balder, but couldn't bother with more than one on Valkyria. YMMV. On a hot day, Flume Ride will put a smile on your face.
If you ever have the chance to visit Liseberg i advice to go directly to helix into the first seat row and don't close your eyes, it would be less scary and cooler as you know what's gonna happen next and your body manages to prepare 😂😂
I hope you ate a MAX hamburgers in Sweden👍🏻
Max is trash
Their new vegetarian burgers are really good.
@@AifosViruset no
@@kall yes
@@kall Only worth eating in Max is halloumi burgers. The meat is trash
You should just se when they light up the park and roallercoasters at night, it is A M A Z I N G!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you've done a video that just generally compares and contrasts North American parks and European parks. I'd love to see that kind of a video.
It would be cool to hear your thoughts on overall trends and things you think North American parks typically do better and things European parks typically do better. It would also be cool to hear your thoughts on things that enthusiasts from North America should be aware about before visiting European parks and things that European enthusiasts should be aware of before visiting North American parks.
thats a great video idea
Helix looks amazing at night, thats kind of it's theme.Too bad u coulden't ride Valkyria it's my absolute favourite.
Nah, helix is much better then valkyria. Valkyria isn’t that good
Ya Helix gets my point, Valk was kinda short and not so crazy. Helix, balder and Liseberg banan has more unique specialities in my opinion.
Valkyria is way to short imo, the first downhill is great though, helix is the superior ride imo with Valkyria in a close second
I went to Liseberg two weeks ago. Didn't get the chance to go to other parks in Sweden/Scandinavia.
Liseberg is ridiculously pretty. I loved the view from the top of AtmosFear especially
Having ridden all the rollercoasters in the park, including Valkyria, I can safely say the park is in my top 3 for sure.
There are three world class rollercoasters, a great classic coaster (Lisebergbanan), a great flumeride, plentiful flat rides & great staff.
No need to go to other theme parks in sweden this one is the best
@@crazyguyjohn3594 the one I missed and regret not going to was Kolmården. Gröna lund Would have been nice too
@@SakiDG True but i mean liseberg is like the hardcore one, sooo u might not enjoy grönalund as much
@@ղվօղմէվօմ nahh, I like the look of gröna lund too. I don't need extreme rides to enjoy places. Liseberg and gröna are both beautiful. Wish I went to Stockholm when I visited! :)
@@SakiDG lols its fine, there is always another time, you're always welcome here in sweden :)
It's so nice to see Pontus in action :) He's the one who got me working there, and I'm pretty sure he's the one who promoted the tour for enthusiasts. Great to hear a shout-out to him! I'm also sure that he will take all of your critique with great care, as he is one of the most ambitious persons I know!
2:03 Congratulations! Your pronunciation is better than Shawn Sanbrooke's!! 🤣🤣🤣
Low bar there. 😂
Någon svensk??
Erik Ljungkvist jaaaaa
4:13 my terrible handwriting haha, thank you for keeping us in shot there :) Liseberg is one of my favourite parks, probably my 2nd favourite overall, love the atmosphere there as well as Helix, Balder and Valkryia! Pontus is a legend and a great tour guide too! :)
Pleasure Beach Experience what’s your favourite
Bottled It Park or ride? 😀
Pleasure Beach Experience Park 😅
Bottled It Cedar Point 😅
Pleasure Beach Experience good choice but mine is PortAventura
You know they're from Gothenburg when they let you enter backstage to sign their track.
Lmao
Liseberg is actually my home park. I love it and i think its kinda underrated. But here are some tips when you visit: You MUST do atmosfear at night as well as helix. Absolutely beautiful. Also the food is kinda mediocre so my suggestion is to go to max (a swedish fast food resturant) it is very good and "healthy" if you compare it to mcdonalds. If you plan on coming this year or next year. Dont. If you wait untill 2021 you will have a big water park and some nice hotels and stuff. It will be located in the back where the current parking lot is. And also. Dont come with a car. There is so little parking space. Dont even try...
I ate a Kebab at the Mattorget restaurant and it tasted really good in my opinion. However I also ate some pastas at the same restaurant as Taylor and it was meh. It really depends in which restaurant you eat I guess.
Kommer stå klart 2023 inte 2021 :/
@@bannanahammock664 wtf. Det ska ju va till jubuleumet?!

why are the swedes speaking english"to each other"
2:50 that guy on the swing must have had a good time
My friend was riding that one a few years ago and he lost control over it and puked while in mid air spinning around lol
You control it yourself how much you want it to spin
Lol you failed almost all pronounciations, but it's sad that you missed out on Valkyria, the ride was amazing!
Going to Liseberg every summer when I was younger are great memories! I'm glad it's still around
Liseberg also has holiday themes though out the park and as he mentioned the landscaping and decorations are amazing. During the winter/Christmas season it is absolutely stunning with all lights and small booths selling food. Me and my wife buy yearly entrance cards and visit atleast ten times during that time. They also have a fantastic Halloween theme with actors in horror costumes walking around the park.
Definitely worth visiting if you happen to be in Gothenburg when the holidays are.
Gilla om ni är Svenskar :)
you really have to go to Liseberg on Halloween! it's really an experience
Valkyria is amazing you have to try it man.
Valkyria is a very fun coaster. the feeling when you drop is kinda the same as atmosfear.
@Coaster Studios.... I want to thank You!!! I am at Cedar Point today and I remember Your tip about leaning Your head forward on rides like Raptor! It made the ride smoother and better! BTW, Steel Vengeance is My favorite ride as well!!!
Finally Liseberg! I live in Sweden and I am there like 10 times a year!
I live in Gothenburg, so pretty much everyone I’ve ever known has been to Liseberg. I love it the most during winter though. It’s absolutely beautiful, and it could be more than just an amusement park experience during christmas season as well. There are way more shops/stands and they sell traditional swedish christmas desserts and handmade items. It’s a cultural experience in a way.
Are rides open at Halloween or only in Summer?
They are open all year around, execpt for there are some rides that are only summer time open but most of them are open on Halloween aswell.
You didnt say anythin bout the best flatride Mechanica and one very big waterride Colorado
Kållerado*
22 on trending in Sweden
ATTENTION ALL 9 YEAR OLD ENTHUSIASTS
also, I kinda thought Kolmarden was better actually XD but this is cool
@Jacob Olsson I do like parks that do unique things so, Ig to each their own y'know
I might be bias because Liseberg is my home park, and I've never been to Kolmården, but how? Kolmården only got Wildfire. Haha
Both are great in their own way. Kolmården is a zoo with attractions and Liseberg is an amusement park. Both get 10 out of 10 from me! :-D
If you go to Liseberg by Halloween they have special zombies by balder and lots and lots of pumpkins everywhere.
oh boy, if you want some halloween themeing, go to Gröna lund during halloween, the scary ship named "Skeppet" is coming to gröna lund, look it up! it's insane theming!
Liseberg is a really great Place to be for a day. But actually one das is NEVER enaugh. But because I've been there a lot of times, I think I know the most attractions. And you can really enjoy a good variety of different attractions. For example there are "attractions" for small children like "Kaninbanan" or for the little bigger childs some small freefall-towers and a little "Rollercoaster" or more a "berg och das bana". Then there of course is the "Lisebergsbanan", a not that fast, smaller Rollercoaster. "Balder" ist very nice too. Then the more "powerful" attractions: of course "Helix", "Valkyria", ok, I can't speak for it, because It had a 6h qeue wen I was at Lisebert the last time. But sadly "Valkyria" replaced the old Rocket-Rollercoaster which was very nice. (And of course fast) "Lisejhulet" is very nice too and especially in the night you can enjoy really great views on Gothenbourg (Göteborg). But you can get even better views, if you choose the "Atmos Fear". But yeah, it's still a freefall-tower. And then there are tons of other nice things to try, so you'll definetely always find something to do.
Svensk kommentar passerar igenom
since i live like 30 min away i've been there a couple of times as a child, there was arcade machines that i quite liked back then i wonder if they are still there was also a 3d type attraction no idea if it's still there, oh and theres farfarsbilar which is translated to grandpacars which are the ford model t's you ride around this brought back a lot of memories, i never realized how pretty it is last i was there was in my early teens or before i remember how i found it boring we left pretty quickly never returned after that
I am going there in 2 weeks!! I am from Norway!
Liseberg is the only park Ive been to in my life. I havent been going on rides for the longest time either, but! My most recent trip I for the first time went on Lisbergsbanan, Flume ride, Tempus and Helix!
i dont know what the hell it is with nordic parks and food ... But its often under par. However, Try the burger in Djurs Sommerland. 2 years on I actually long to have one of those again!
Valkryia is very well themed, I think from now on every new addition will go that way
It’ll be a while. They’re currently planing a water park expansion.
Daniel Mullins i love that ride its Good themed and all that stuff but its to short! It’s 28 sec long!
Sqeeery it is actually europe’s longest dive coaster. See things like oblivion AT alton Towers, that ride has a drop, and a turn. Then the end
Valkyria and Balder are names from Viking mythology 👍🏻
Which one do you pefer: Liseberg or Gröna Lund?
I'm a Liseberg fan! :P
Kaptenpan I prefer Liseberg!
You either prefer Liseberg, or Gröna Lund but haven't visited Liseberg.
@@smol5601 Liseberg is waaaay better than gröna lund.
Kaptenpan same lol
I ride to Liseberg 2-3 tims per year and i like the park verry mutch
It is not called Lowkey, it is called Lo-Ke
If you go to Liseberg, or Sweden in general, try to eat Max! Its like the Swedish McDonalds and Burger King! :)
I live in Sweden and I love Liseberg and some places have like 1 or 2 vans going but Liseberg have like 4 or 5 going so it’s really quick
Oliver Ryd skåpbilar?
You dont eat real food when you're in Liseberg.......
I agree. The place is awesome. But the theme for helix could be better.
Why is "Kolmården" pronounced "Cool Martin" all the time? My heart bleeds T.T
Svenskar? Like denna kommentaren så att utlänningar tror att jag har skrivit något smart
I live in sweden and arter summerbreak my class is going thre on a trip for 3 days💛✌🏻🇸🇪 I have also been there ones with my family!
HAHAHA its ok but did not predouns like nothing rhigt but it ok
I’m from Sweden and every year we go to Liseberg. We live on an island outside Gothenburg so unfortunately we cannot stay until dark. We are usually there from 11 til 6. One time we went there in the winter and they have a frozen pond were you can ice skate! It’s really fun and the whole park is decorated with Christmas decor such as Christmas trees and bells.
Uup
Because this is in my home town I usually visit Liseberg many times each year.
when eating dinner at liseberg you always choose the "habour bar", Hamnkrogen.. they have delicious seafood dishes and even a "kids" corner with soulfood.
AAHAHA i go to Liseberg every day, girl from gothenburg
I know you tried, and i appreciate you for it, but you didnt pronounce anything right :p
I live in Sweden so thats kind of what i do wen i want to go to a Coster park!
Köttbullar e goa!
Going there in a couple weeks from Norway :P
Did anyone see that the balder sign says *bilder* on the right side of the thumbnail
of all 38k views. 38k are swedes och det vet du
Don't Americans have any theme parks built like this? As in boxed in and being surrounded by the city? I kind of refuse to believe that but ure a professional on this so I guess you would know better.
Okay now you have been in GrönaLund and liseberg soo..
Ur done in sweden now xd
whe have the samll parks left.. like furuvik
Furuvik doesn't have anything that exciting though.
Skara Sommarland
@@xXTheSwedishVikingXx true. i spended 60 bucks yesterday to go there with my friends (i was kinda forced by them haaha) and i have so much regret. it is littarly throwing money in the sea
Kevin Sahlström haha spenderade du allt dedär på furuvik??
liseberg is my most favourite place in the world, i have had so many memories there with both family, friends and classmates
why did you not eat meat balls?
You have to visit Liseberg on Halloween, they open three or 4 more scare houses and the theming is beautiful
I live pretty close so I go there every year. My favorites are Helix, Balder, that airplane thing and the best of them all is Mekanicka! c:<
But mekanicka is almost broken everytime xD I love the line in Helix! Its all over the place and the music is great! The thing about the lines in Liseberg is the time. It can take about more then an hour if you choose the wrong day ;-; I also recommend staying untill evenening. Most of the people have left by then so the lines to the populare things are shorter. I personally don't like Valkyria. I normally start to feel pain in my belly by the 90 digrees drop and that isn't very pleasant. But I suppose it's fun to ride if you aren't me xD
I actually liv in sweden..
Is it weird that I think that the escalators to Helix is scarier than the actual rollercoaster?....
On-point as always 👌 I like that you take the time and appreciate details beyond coasters such as landscape work.
It's quite fair to say other European parks do theming better - I would say Liseberg has more of a 'style' and 'atmosphere' than intricate scenery.
But it's fine! I had a lovely time in 2017, especially night rides on Helix. Those are indeed a reason to come-back 😉😀
Nice review of my hometown park! If you want to experience the park a bit emptier and darker, come back some time in mid September. Weather is usually at its best then, a bit cooler and then the nights are finally dark enough to warrant lighting the street lamps. Well, that's my favorite time of the year to go there.
Lika om du har varit på Liseberg
Själv----> ja
I have been on the park 3 times
Something happend to helix. It feels like they increased the launch speed by a few km/h. It is so intense you can compare it to Kärnan! (I’ve ridden both)

Go back in halloween this is the best event in the hole year that is by far most amazing
I literally went into the hauted house maze like 3 times when I visited because I liked it so much lol.. Liseberg is awesome, i think i had the best coaster experience of my life riding Balder- it was kinda rainy and gloomy over the day and then at sunset the clouds broke open to let literally golden light shine through the park while little drizzles of rain still flew around in the air. Ridiculously topped off with a full beautiful rainbow infront of the remainig dark cloudy formations still hovering above. I'll never forget soaring through that scenery
I live in gothenburg and have goldpass there so I’m in Liseberg almost every day and one day, I had ridden helix 2 times before the first day I used my goldpass and I rode helix 20 times😳😂 Before the first time I almost fainted because I was so scared but after that I got littarly obsessed with it and my friend almost puked cause I just went going with the “one more time”😂 Yeah I’m such a good friend👌🏻😂
trendig in Sweden 🇸🇪🇸🇪
Great video!😄
A night ride on Helix? Oh yes, i like where your heads at... I always wait for it to get dark (Well... darkER) only to ride helix since its pretty boring in broad daylight...
I Went to Liseberg 2 and 3 july! I really loved all of the roller coasters. I Went to all of the coasters and attractions in the park. Me favourites is Helix, Balder, valkyria and Atmos Fear. My final ride was Valkyria, at 11 PM/23.00 XD I sat in the front, i Think I actually Went to valkyra 7 times, Helix 5 times, Balder 4 and AtmosFear 4... I love to feel the rush u get when it gets "scary".
I was there last week!
There is another escalator by Flumeride. I usually take that one up instead because its top is at the ride Virvelvinden or The Whirlwind in English which is my favorite and it's easy to get to Helix and such from there.
I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS FOR SO LONG TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS !!!GREAT VIDEO BEST RC CHANNEL!! ops CAPS :D
Btw, I live in sweden and I visited Liseberg last month, A lot of people but I got to ride the big attractions once :)
I get so proud of my country when I see videos like this, hehe. Sweden really is underrated.
Lisaberg??? Please tell me Where you see the A in Liseberg???
Loves the video btw
Hey! That’s my workplace!😄
A pro-tip for everyone who wants to up their visit for free is that Liseberg has almost every monday a Swedish music tvshow on its main stage. Everyday is there a kids play on the small stage. Annnd sometimes there is conserts with different artist/bands on the mainstage. No added cost. For example: Last year Alice Cooper and Jonny Depp played. 😄 Check out the stageschudule before you come 😊 / much of love from a gothenburgcitizen! 🇸🇪
Trust me, the ferris wheel is not as good as you may think, 70% of the view is just trees, the ferris wheel is in the corner of Liseberg which makes it hard to see everything else, but you can see Atmosfear in clear sight and It's pretty cool to see it drop.
De är nu man är från Göteborg och varit på Liseberg 1000 gånger och börjar tycka att Liseberg verkar coolt. Har aldrig sett på Liseberg såhär hahah?!
Great park, but wouldn’t recommend a one day trip to visit Liseberg. I went last summer and we only made it to 4 rides, because of the queueing. Also helix broke down, just as we sat down in the seats and had been waiting for 1,5-2 hours..
Would be a much better park if they had fast pass like Disney, not what they got right now.
I live close to liseberg. I hear people screaming from atmosfear all summer :) . FIY. I've heard they are planning on building a water park. To be finished 2023. That are gonne use the space of the big parkinglot on the backside.
Vem mer här är svensk?
i have been to liseberg like 15 times in my life and i never knew they had free refills
Kronlid lol me too
That's funny. I live in gothenburg and done so for all my life but I haven't been on Liseberg for 15years. I think it's to expensive. When I was little I whent there at least 5-10 times a year but then the prizes risen to much and now it's only for tourists. And yes, the food, it's all only a 3of5 which restaurant you visit and that's because the food processor that delivers the food, they deliver to all restaurants. And much is prefabricated and frozen before delivery.
I love when none Swedish people try to say Liseberg. It sounds like lisburg
Me to
I live 15 mins away from this park. I'll do a visit almost every year, but not during the tourist season.
I SM from guthenburg sweden and i love Liseberg and the dold is good you just went to the wrong places and the have lots of vice snacks and a LOT of attraktions dont know what you mean buy ”not allt of attraktions” haha and valkyria has europes steepest slope 👍🏻🎟🎢🎡🎠
