  • Helix is a Mack multi-launch coaster at Liseberg in Sweden. This amazing coaster carves its way along the hillside, treating riders to two launches, seven inversions, and several airtime moments. This is one of the best layouts in the world between the setting and diverse elements! Does all this make it the best coaster in Sweden? Find out in this review!

    One of the best parts of Helix, besides the stunning setting, is how well balanced the layout is. It feels like there's a somewhat equal amount of intense positive forces, airtime moments, whip moments and hangtime moments all without going too overboard or lacking. It's such a varied ride

    Two outstanding parts i still think about after 4 years since i last rode Helix:
    The composition of the zero g Roll into the turn through the tunnel into the second launch. This is so much fun.
    I love helix for its fun layput and reridability. Not the most intense coaster but its just so much fun. From beginning to end.
    Mack Produkt :D

      Second: when helix is warmed up in the front you'll get a decent whip after the second launch into the inverted tophat and the airtimehill afterwards has such an insane view of Liseberg. Stunning.

    I was blown away by this thing. I didn’t expect that much from it because Blue Fire is not very intense. This thing is incredible. If it had forceful launches it’d probably be the #1 coaster in the world for me. As it is, it’s still my #1 but I do think some American coasters can dethrone it.

      I could not agree more: Helix has THE perfect launches for the ride to do what it has to do: a superb, stunning, relentless and masterfully paced ride using Liseberg gorgeous terrain and landscaping. Helix was never conceived as a launch tour the force and frankly no need for it. For that you have the bombastic Intamin rides sitting in flat terrain with tacky theming. Helix plays in a completely different league and rides in a completely different style. Its superb.

    I really want more products like this in the U.S. I understand that Intamin has Veloci, Mavvy, and Pante, but i really wanna see more from MACK Rides. Copperhead Strike showcased what MACK are capable of very well. I really hope Starfall Racers delivers, but we don't have anything even slightly similar to Helix.

  • @teddym2808

    This is a 10 for me, and it's in my top 10 also.
    I forgive the weak launches completely as they are only designed to just get the exact optimum pacing for the rest of the elements, and perfect pacing they have. I can't knock points off for that. I mean it's better than a lift hill isn't it. This is one of my favourite coasters. Now, if the first element was a launch from standstill rather than the rolling variety Helix has, then I would knock a point off for being so weak, but this coaster has a lot of momentum by the time even the first launch is reached. I am not sure what was expected of it.... if it had this big jolt of power, the rest of the layout would be too fast or need to be trimmed.. Like what Intamin have been doing lately with the likes of Toutatis and Batman Gotham escape where the top hats are trimmed. Toutatis is so bad it is trimmed all the way down, it's as if the coaster goes down the main drop at a controlled pace, therefore I also don't understand how you rate Toutatis higher than Pantheon. I loved Pantheon. But as they say I guess, to each their own!

      @CanobieCoaster  2 месяца назад

      I like Batman better than this, but I'd take Helix over Toutatis.

    Visited Liseberg for the first time just over a week ago. Was really looking forward to Helix but left a little disappointed, felt like it needed a kick up the backside lol. Don’t get me wrong, I still loved it but maybe my expectations were too high. Didn’t think it came close to my top three coasters RTH, Toutatis and Untamed. Was surprised to leave the park with Balder being my favourite coaster there. Rode Wildfire the next day and much preferred it to Helix.
