Big Red One was my first and introductory Call of Duty game. Played it on repeat constantly, though Brooklyn's death was heartbreaking for a kid playing this game and enjoying his comedic relief. I can remember every mission, and I thought that the extra stuff like showing behind the scenes, incorporating the old Military Channel, and showing all of the art was the coolest thing a company could do for its players.

Ah, yes. One of my first Call of Duty from my childhood (the other is Finest Hour) when I had a PS2. I love that it follows the squad of US 1st Infantry Division’s journey from North Africa all the way to crossing the Siegfried Lind as well as featuring the VAs from Band of Brothers and voiceovers from Mark Hamill for the Military Channel footages. Plus the only CoD game that features Vichy France and Italians as an enemy of which you can use their weapons too. This greatly trumps CoD WW2 in terms of story and gameplay and they both have stories of a squad from the Big Red One. Hell, both Big Red One and Finest Hour trump over WW2 and Vanguard, respectively.

As much as I like the other games for their featuring of different fronts, I love how this game has you play as the same character throughout the game, allowing you to get to know your squad and experience the sad moments of someone dying. As far as difficulty is concerned, it's pretty reasonable, too. My least favorite level has always been "Crucifix Hill" because of the checkpoints being spaced out so much, but aside from that, it's a good game.

The real complaint for his World at War playthrough should've been that he wasn't using those historical accuracy mods like Fall of Berlin.

As a kid. It actually made me sad watching Brooklyn get blown up 🤣 probably one of the only deaths I really hated in that game. Definitely watching your other classic cod playthroughs after this one. My favorite memory with this game was most of the sniping sections, I felt like a badass just getting only headshot. Favorite classic cod will forever be 3 🖤

This and Finest Hour were as good as it got on GameCube. Played the hell out of these levels... over and over and over.

I'm so excited to watch this. These videos bring me back to a time we all seem to underappreciate while were living through it. Also, I played COD BRO, FH, & 3 Online on a FAT PS2 with the equally FAT ethernet adapter brick. I've never had and never will have more fun than I did in those servers. God Speed to all you beautiful bastards I played with. 😆

Till this very day me and my brothers still recite Brooklyn’s line “I got tickets to Yankees they’re playin the Red Sox, I got box seats” we kinda use as a way to say we have plans/something to do. This was our favorite COD and we would play it all night long on the GameCube trying to beat the campaign (we didn’t have a memory card) I wish they would do a 1:1 remake that stays true to the original game.

Man this is my favorite cod. When call of duty world war 2 came out it wasn’t as bad as people made it out to be. Classic world war 2 campaign with the iconic fireteam of guys you love fighting beside. Brought me straight back to this gem of a game so I had to go watch the campaign again. Also learned not too long ago my great grandfather was in the big red one. Now I’m in the army as an airborne infantryman. Crazy how much family and classic call of duty influenced me as a kid. I would play big red one, world at war final fronts, and finest hour for hours and then head straight outside with my toy guns and pretend I was storming the beaches of Normandy or freezing my ass off in December digging a foxhole in the snow for the battle of the bulge. Core memories right there.

By far my favorite Call of Duty. I wish they remastered this instead of making the last few games

I adore how you are with one squad from beginning to end. You see their demeanor change. Even how they look. They start off clean, and filthy with beards and stubbles. When one of them dies or is wounded, you care. Vic's death was felt as the banter changed. Hawkins "dying" leaves the squad feeling hollow, and the last few missions are the same (I think by design). Then the final mission ends just like any other mission, which I think is underwhelming, but deliberately so. Time to move on. This game is a masterpiece.

I wrote it in another video about this game, i am going to write it here. This game was one of the first games i ever played. My dad bought it for me when i was 6-8 years old, for my PS2. Such fond memories, that i will cherish for all time. I got my toddler ass kicked on the italy, north africa and ardenne missions.

on that bomber mission- if you're drifting the plane left and right you can't release the bombs. You've got to swing the plane over fast then let it stabilize to be able to drop.

This is hands down the best world war 2 Call of Duty game. The characters and voice acting are great and you really bond with them over time. It helps that you get to spend the entire game with them without bouncing around between other squads. I'd much prefer a remaster of this game over the crap they've put out in the last few years
