Brothers in Arms is the fifth studio album by British rock band Dire Straits, released on 13 May 1985 by Vertigo Records internationally, and by Warner Bros. Records in the United States. Brothers in Arms charted at number one worldwide, spending ten weeks at number one on the UK Album Chart (between 18 January and 22 March 1986), nine weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 in the United States, and thirty-four weeks at number one on the Australian Album Chart. The album is the seventh best-selling album in UK chart history, is certified nine times platinum in the United States, and is one of the world's best selling albums having sold 30 million copies worldwide.
Mark Knopfler usually played the song on a Gibson Les Paul guitar, rather than his usual Schecter "Stratocaster", and a Les Paul appears in the distinctive promo video, which is in the style of a charcoal drawing, interspersing scenes of the band playing with scenes of war. During Dire Straits' 1992 "On Every Street" tour, Knopfler used his Pensa-Suhr MK1 for this song, like most of the others.
The song is reported to be the first CD single ever released, it was released in the United Kingdom in 1985.

I have only played it for about 30 minutes but it feels nice. Weird having just a volume knob. Mirror guide is not metal like Steve Harris. Fret board is awesome. Real 70's look and feel. For the price, I'm not sure if you can beat the value. So far, so good.
Cheers.
Perfect performance! TIt really captures the feel of that beautiful, sad tune. Thank you so much for taking the time to write notation and tabs for my favorite song in the world!
Excellent job on the bass. You've got a very good clock in your head. I also like the sound of your bass, clean, no rattles, and full.

Hi Constatine,
Great bass cover of this classic tune, I have been looking for the bass tab for this with no luck.
Can you help me, thanks in advance.
Hi man! What's your criteria for using your Chris Aiken? I'm interested in this bass and would like to see you using in more videos.
Cheers!
thank you brother :)
I notice you have a Chris Aiken bass. I was looking into buying one. Can I get your opinion on it? Thanks.
Greetings from Mexico Constantine! Any comments on that Chris Aiken Squier vs. your Vintage Mod Jazz? I'm between basses and would like to get your opinion. Thanx!
Hello. Great question. The modified Jazz to me is the best bass money could buy. The Chris Aiken is a beautiful bass but I don't believe you can bet the tone from the Mod. Jazz. I do believe the Squier has changed their new production of the modified jazz, from I've been told, even better than before. Good luck. and thanks for watching.
New axe?
Instead of making HL3, he does this...
you reading nots?
Thank you
