- I finally feel like I am getting on top of things in the garden just before Winter creeps in. In this week's garden vlog, I turned leaves into mulch and tackled cleaning my filthy greenhouse. What have you been getting up to in the garden this week?

This is exactly what we did today, cleaning the garden, cutting the lawn for the last time and then having a nice mug of cocoa whole sitting in the Sun and watching the birds having their meal. It was such a nice and warm autumn day. Thank you for sharing your day with us , Catherine. 💗🙋♀️
Be very proud of yourself. Your an inspiration to everyone 🎉🎉🎉
So kind Joan ❤
leaves make great mulch for the compost. I recently read that clovers are also good because they are packed with nitrogen.
I listened to a lecture given by a soil biologist. She said leaf MOLD literally gives your soil everything it needs.
And it's always good to see your smiling face and your cup of tea in your hand so you did a great job cleaning your greenhouse on the outside. One day I only have a greenhouse for my plans or something close to it. God bless you and may his grace shine upon you.
You are a delightful, slightly disheveled garden fairy. I enjoy watching you give your garden a good tidy up.
haha, thank you x
Our gardens have been put to bed and a blanket of snow is now on them. You always look beautiful Catherine, even when you've been pushing your mower or cleaning up. I enjoyed your video once again, thanks so much for it.
It’s been snowing for 2 days straight where I am, so watching your yard work warmed my heart. ❤️🍁
Wow, snow already x
So sorry to hear you lost your fur baby ,love and big hugs x
Could the birds be starlings, gathering to roost for the night? So pleased you found your trowel, it's a lovely feeling when things turn up. Back to watch rest of your vlog now 💖
Yes I think they are starlings?
@@DaintyDiaries That's lovely, they are such amazing birds (the murmarations). I was joined by a gorgeous robin today during my leaf clearing.
You go girl.saved alot of money, got exercise and a sparkling clean greenhouse
Good job on cleaning your green house. It's amazing how much we can do by ourselves!!
I’m behind on putting my beds and greenhouse to bed
Good job with the mulch and the tidy. Mother Nature is sure to appreciate your hard work. As for me, I used a pressure washer on the front walk. Amazing what the colour is supposed to be.
Well done I’ve planted loads of bulbs today worn out now
Great job tidying your garden Catherine and then washing your greenhouse which definitely looked cleaner and almost sparkling outside. Well done you.
Thanks so much! 😊
I have to tell you, Friday while I was shopping, I found a 1.5 gallon metal watering that is pastel pink and on sale! I thought of you because of the pink lol. Of course it came home with me, because really you can't have too many watering cans. It was in the 50's F and yesterday we woke up to 27 F and snow. It usually waits to snow where I live until January or February. I'm thankful that I finished up tucking my flower garden in bed last weekend.
When you cleaned your windows with washing up liquid add a splash of vinegar it makes them shine
You are such a hard worker! And it looks wonderful. ❤
I love love love the sounds of your garden, the birds and other ecological visitors are truly a delight. 😍🥰
To be young again and have boundless energy.❤😂love your videos Takd care
Wow it is amazing how differently the greenhouse looks after you cleaned the glass. It really did not look that bad. Now the difference is surprising. I did a little a couple of days ago. Cut the last of the roses, brought all of the pots inside the garage and and clean some of the garden. The temperature tonight is supposed to be 30 degrees. Later in the week as cold as 28 degrees. Everything looks so pretty in your garden. Ann from Va. USA 🇺🇸
You're making me look bad, lol. I haven't done anything in my garden this year. The summer was to hot, the early fall I broke my foot and yesterday we had snow and last night was 20 degree Celsius. I'll have lots to do next spring. I need to mow our leaves as well. Your garden is looking good and look at you cleaning the glass on the greenhouse! Saved a good chunk of cash for other things. You go girl!
I absolutely love your videos, it is so soothing for me to watch them and hear your voice ❤️
Everything looks great. Okay, okay I'll do my windows. I was hoping to hire out but you're correct, I can do it. Great video. 😍
You can do it 😂❤
you have done such a good job taking care of you little cottage and grounds.
Aw thanks Kathleen, it’s so rewarding x ❤
I have a few broken pots my daughter turned into Fairy gardens. Now I have 4 mini gardens in my large garden, I love them.❤️😊
Those birds are Starlings. They stay with us. But they love to meet up in large groups and have the Chats😀
Wow , girl you got a lot done & it looks so amazing. Great job on the green house ,bet you feel tired but very rewarded at the same time. Love your channel.
Inspiring work! Helps motivate me to clean and tidy my shed and yard. Thank you as always!💕 You are a joy to watch and listen to. God bless!💕🙏🏼🥰
Finally it’s slowly cooling down here in Spain 😅 So I’m getting ready to plant my bulbs! Yayyyy!!
Aw yay! ❤
Your garden still looks fab. Not much colour left in mine. I've bought poly tunnels to go over the veg bed. Maybe get some fleece for over your dahlia bed in case the weather gets really bad. Im in Scotland, can't imagine our climate is too different.
Well done Catherine 👏 your garden and shed look beautiful 😍 you really are an inspiration 🌸💚
Thank you so much! so kind
We had our first snow on Saturday and the temps are dropping - a high of 29 degrees (Fahrenheit) for this Friday! I just need to give my gas grill and good cleaning and unhook the hose from the outdoor spigots.
Oh yay for snow!! Thanks for stopping by Patty ♥️
We just finished painting the shutters, outdoor lights and installing new door bell. A beautiful day in the 70s, next morning it was 27 degrees. Wow winter came fast!
Your yard is beautifully set up for some overhead string lights. Maybe a project for next year😀.
OMG! I GOT YOUR BOOK TODAY FROM THE UNITED STATES AND ITS A SIGNED COPY! IM SO THRILLED!
Aw YAY! I am so happy you got a signed copy x
My frist time came across you chanel. I just love it. So much inspiration. 🥰
Aw, thank you x
I have got to do my cabin in the garden and light my first fire of the winter.
You did a good job cleaning the glass, nice and shiny for some fairy lights and Christmas 🎄 ✨️
Your garden looks great I keep saying I need to do my garden I’ve done quite a bit probably finish it tomorrow I’ve done all the planting got the garden fleece out yesterday ready to wrap some of the plants I’m looking forward to the spring already. not a lover of the winter months
I use bubble wrap on the insides of my house windows..it is simple to install. Just wipe window with a wet cloth then place wrap flat side down and the water suction on the wrap.😊🇨🇦
Lovely job on the greenhouse! We have a few more leaves than you do lol
We bag our leaves in paper leaf bags and they're collected by the garbage collection. They are collected separately from waste and recycling materials. The leaves go to a mulching area and eventually end up in the city gardens. The same goes for Christmas trees. They are collected, put through a wood chipper and residents of the city can go to get free mulch. You just have to bring a container. Our city is called St. Catharines, the garden city. Just so you know we've gathered more than 60 bags of leaves so far. There is 6 hickory nut trees in the backyard, the neighbors have a 200 yr old oak tree .
I get down and depressed during winter. We just had our first good cool front come in so it’s starting. I hope my garden survives until spring.
Love your gardening and cleaning videos!
Good job you have done there! My bulb still are waiting for me to plant them :). Roses are still flowering so, I can t touch them. I struggle with the leaves, so much work! Greetings from Timisoara, Romania!
looking lovely, good on you for the greenhouse - very satisfying once it's done :)
Great job Catherine. I've been busy on my lottie too today. Your garden looks lovely.
Thank you! 😊 well done on the allotment x
Wow general cleaning that is equivalent to my one day work out. 👌. A few days ago I ask for a help to cut a big dead tree in front of my house and I ask them to make me a table and chairs for my garden. And leaving 7 ft high I'm planning to put orchids around its body. Hoping next week I'll do my general cleaning for my garden. 😍 Ang trying my new table and chairs and having a cup of coffee
Catherine we see you found a special little treasure in the dirt. Your trusty garden tool. ❤
Yes I did, happy to have it back! X
TFS. I live in AZ and love the next 7 months here. I save old rice and peas and wheatberry bags (grind fresh bread flour) bags are burlap and burlap has always protected my tubers and roses in the snow climes. We garden now here so yes I love getting a chance to resoil remulch the garden and plant my favorite sedum ground covers in Feb. My favorite tools are original dawn and hot water and my pressure washer to get rid of the dust and dirt in the desert. I cannot handle mold due to severe allergies so I use TSP to get rid of algae and grime. Labor costs along with materials are way way up so we try to do upkeep of the home ourselves. Stay blessed Catherine
Hello from the States!
Will your sweet hedgehog be hibernating this winter or will he be active year round?
The family that introduced my parents to each other waaay back in the 50s were from Ireland, so I was blessed to grow up hearing the lovely Irish lilt quite regularly. Just wanted to let you know how delightful it's been to hear that lilt again since discovering your channel a few months back! ❤
I knew you would love your leaf blower once you got one that works 😁
Thank you for sharing. 💛🙏
Preparing for winter? Well after the hurricane we have a big pine on our garage so we shall see. 🤗
Thank you for this video as always very inspirational they always motivates me to get up and do something have a wonderful week 🦋🌺.
you too Rita, have a great week ahead x
This is what we did this weekend too, unfortunately we had to cut down a Magnolia bush which had gotten so big and was starting to be a mini tree, there was just no room for it, too near the house - really was sad to get rid but it had to be done 😢. Planted a load of tulip bulbs too. Today we took a trip to the north end of our beautiful Vancouver Island and collected some giant sugar cones, I’m going to use for decorating at Christmas 🎅🏼. Have a lovely week 💕🇨🇦
Muy buenos tus videos muchos saludos de chile👍💙💚💛❤🌸🌷
Hi Catherine. Great job with the windows! I have one shed that I store my pots, furniture and tools in. Have to take down the umbrella I bought to store that in there as well. I keep my dahlia tubers inside bc it gets too cold outside over winter. Snow has started to fall elsewhere in the country so I know time is running out to organize the outside. Have to finish putting up the Christmas lights and decorations outside too! I'm exhausting just thinking of it all 😂 super important to make sure my outdoor kitty houses are all cozy and warm for them this winter😻
I usually put shading up in greenhouse in summer and bubble wrap in winter. I still have to put Strulch over borders and raised bed for winter. I put this down Spring and beginning of winter. - Frances
Nice sharing 👍💖👌👌🎁
Was outside cleaning up leaves and getting my birdbath covered for winter. Helped my son put up some his Christmas Lights . When I came in I noticed you posted a garden video. So I made myself a cup a tea and sat down to watch your video. Great one as always. Much love from Canada ❤️
there is nothing more satisfying than blowing leaves in the autumn. OOOOh yes, good video. Cheers
I love your tidying up days. You just get it done but with joy and patience. Thanks for this delightful vlog.
Thanks so much! 😊

Hi Catherine! Thanks for sharing the sights and sounds of your garden- its so lovely!
I was please to get nut fence painted before the first frost. And I pulled dahlias, planted more mums for next year, and refreshed the pine needle mulch in my garden this weekend. 🍁
Can't wait to see the hoover type thing for inside greenhouse. - Frances

Hi Catherine, love your greenhouse, you saved yourself a few bob cleaning it yourself. Great clean up job. Enjoy the next week 😊💖
Thanks Jo! Yea nice to have the extra few pennies, il out that towards the heating bill 😂 hope you have a great week
@@DaintyDiaries 😊
I add white vinegar to may soapy water, glass really sparkles. Cleaning glass is therapeutic. Looking good
So satisfying! Love a good clean up
The birds sound amazing.
Todays job started as collecting kindling but it escalated to sorting the greenhouse as the wood store had bits in that needed to go into the greenhouse. Satisfying to start cleaning it but still have lots to do :-). Lovely video :-)
Great job love your house and garden
Thanks Linda ❤❤❤
You are really looking great!!
Catherine, you always look beautiful. Even if mud on your face. I really want a greenhouse again;
I had to secure front and back porch gardens from weather we have freeze warnings, tomatoes are in the garage. You got alot. Have a great week 😀 😊
Love watching you clean. To-do list? Girl, there's a massive renovation of my house going on. I have to do so much but first and foremost, my Dahlia must come in. Canadian weather is coming to Europe! Cold and snow predicted, yuk. Usually, I clean my greenhouse and shed, but it is filled with my attic stuff as my roof is going off the house. Oy vey, I need more hours in a day. 😵💫
Oh best of luck with the renovations!! ♥️
👍Good job. Great inspo. Hugs from rainy Madrid❤
You have done a great job. I do all mine by myself, its hard work at times but rewarding. Green house cleaning came up really good.
Thanks Cliff, yea, hard work but great exercise this time if year x
Catherine, I love your greenhouse, are you not afraid of footballs or sliotars breaking your glass? It's the only thing putting me off investing in one. Thank you 🥰
Hey, yea it was a concern but where it is, it is sheltered by trees, so the trees seem to break the fall of any footballs. Touch wood, no issues so far
Same here Catherine, having a clear up. It's funny I left my dahlias in last year, we had frost and a lot of rain. They came up! Yet hardy stuff got killed off. It's definitely a learning journey. I check the weather all the time! Us gardeners eh lol I bubble wrap my small greenhouse as I overwinter cuttings of hydrangeas, roses and salvia.. Loved the vlog as always x
I’m still always learning it’s a total journey! Thanks for stopping by Jenny ♥️ happy gardening x
Hey Catherine, I so enjoy your videos! I really appreciate how you approach projects. I can totally relate! I know it takes an enormous amount of time to create this content and make it look so effortless! Thank you ☕💕
Thank you so much Michelle, thanks for your support x
Beautiful 🍂🍁💐
Thank you ❤❤❤❤
Absolutely gorgeous
Thank you! 😊
This was a very good video leaving me feeling accomplished even though I was only watching. Lol. You did so much satisfying work. Funny you mentioned bubble wrap because I have a bunch of it which I will wrap around my potato plants (here in New York) which are in fabric pots. And here I thought it was my own awesome idea...haaa. See you next time. Enjoy your cuppa tea.
I have half done my shed as I’m hoping to move soon.
Since I will have a lot of bubble wrap, I might just use monty dons tip.
Thanks for a fab video and keeping me company while I sort and pack. Xx
I've got to look back for the video on buying nd installing the greenhouse. I LOVE IT 💓
Hey Sally, if you go back to 2020 but I didn't film it being installed, search for the brick floor video xxx
I wish I had a garden shed and a green house. But I do have a garage for my tools. Lots of cleanup going on to get ready for winter. Zone 9 b so it’s pretty mild here.
Good on you girl glass looks great. Well done with the sprouts they are delicious when small yum yum. Enjoyed this week's episode x
Aw thank you ❤❤❤
