Virgin A330-900 neo. First passenger departure. Heathrow. 27 October 2022. VS11 to Boston. G-VJAZ.

- Here is the first passenger departure of G-VJAZ, which flew into Heathrow from Toulouse on 15th October and today, Thursday 22nd October, operated the first passenger service - VS11 to Boston. Leaving the gate at Terminal 3 extremely promptly, the aircraft taxied to Runway 27 Right and was away by 17:47 - just as well for the autumn nights are certainly darker now!

the a330neo is beautiful, i think that’s a 👍good replacement for virgin’s 747-400 but i still miss the 747-400

Interesting to see the two aircraft that compete with each other A330-900 and 787-9 in the same livery going off one after the other.
Many people think the 787 competes with the A350 when its only the 787-10 that competes with the A350-900 otherwise its the two A330neo aircraft.

A330 is a beautiful plane but it got photobombed by a BA 777. And then by a VS 789. That one had a well captured takeoff run.
@CellPat2. Yes it’s beautiful isn’t it. I was happy to keep the BA 777 in my film as it adds to the ambience of a busy departures scene I thought. Ditto for the VS 787!

Sadly this means that Virgin will get rid of their A330-300's soon.

Quite a nice and fitting registration. One of my favourites was one of their A340-642's: G-VFIZ 'Bubbles'. I've been trying to work out the connection with G-VYOU 'Emmeline Heany' but can't seem to work it out! Any ideas?

@@ahyanremtulla Hi Ahyan yes I did notice the ANZ 777. Nice!!!! And yes G-VYOU is slightly different to the other Virgin names. They auctioned the naming of the aircraft to the highest bidder (proceeds going to charity) and the winning bidder named it after their newborn child - Emmeline. Nice idea. Cheers. Steve.

@Roman. Agh - I sympathise with you. The light was fading super fast when I filmed the departure too. Any delay and it would have been too dark! Hope you catch it soon!!
@@HeathrowAircraft Virgin Atlantic flights usually get to Boston around 7-8pm and leave around 10pm back to UK. I think my next chance will be in late spring at the earliest 😅
