Hi Brooke. Thank you for talking about jealousy in grief. I have definitely felt jealous after my precious Paris passed. Soon, after she passed I needed to go into town and saw mums and daughters shopping together. That was like being stabbed in the heart …. I was just so so sad and jealous that I could NEVER do that with Paris any more. We loved our shopping days together. I still find it hard when I go shopping and I see other mums and daughters shopping together and it’s been one and a half years since Paris passed. Thank you Brooke for all the help you give by doing your AMAZING videos! Love and hugs from Colchester, UK ❤️💞❤️

Oh yes jealousy, I’ve definitely felt that one. When I see couples together sometimes I feel so jealous that I no longer have that. It hits me so hard sometimes to think of all that I have lost. It really sucks and I hate it!

I have definitely experienced jealousy since my husband passed 2 1/2 yrs ago. I have to take a break from some friends and family when they complain to me about their spouses. I try and come up with a reason to excuse myself from the social setting or get off the phone. At least I don't have to hide my facial expressions on the phone.
I get jealous too when people complain about mundane things. Thank you for including part of your emotions...I never known when it's going to happen. ✌🏼& ❤ to you and all that are grieving...Grief sucks!

I've got a friend of mine, who lost her 20 y. o. son. He was a great person, he saved a man, who couldn't swim, but the water was so cold that he couldn't get out. So he saved that person sacrifying his life.20 years past, sometimes his mother meets this man, and of course she is jealous. He is alive, healthy, having a family and business. The man is very grateful to her son for his life, but he feels guilty too. Tough

    I lost my daughter too
I know exactly how you feel. My daughter was my best friend. I always explain to people that I'm not jealous of their life but I'm jealous that I will never feel that happiness and I guess a completeness of this life anymore. I feel like a lost soul that just doesn't belong here anymore. I hate that I can't get into this life anymore. A very scary way to live for the next 50 years😢

Oh my gosh, that is so true, and such a great way to explain it -- that life doesn't feel "complete." My heart breaks for all of us. Sending hugs. ❤️

I appreciate your honesty, and for speaking about an emotion that people often overlook when grieving. It comes upon you suddenly and without warning and is completely normal. I have lost a child, and I also work in therapy helping those who are newly bereaved come to terms with a barrage of emotions and milestones they never thought existed. Yes, jealousy is one emotion that we normally do not associate with the grieving process!
Also, the hard tasks of grieving can bring up past losses that have not been addressed and make our current grief more intense and difficult, that is why it is so healthy to acknowledge the different emotions grieving presents, not bury them, or feel they are not important but to fully commit to working through them.
I remember when my boy died, it was probably 6 months after his death. A friend of mine called by and was speaking to me. Unexpectedly, her son, two years younger than my son showed up as well and I remember clearly as if it were today, but in reality, 28 years ago, my friend put her arm around her son and said 'My baby.' Now my son was my baby, my youngest child and the sudden anger and jealousy I felt was overwhelming. I held that pain jealousy and anger toward my friend for months until I addressed it over and over again and then was able to let it go.
The grieving process takes as long as it takes, and let's be honest, it will never go away but it will subside and then we can compensate for the aching pain with loving memories of our deceased children and move forward, but changed forever. Thank you again.

Thank you so much for sharing... and what a great point about grief bringing up the other things that haven't been addressed. That is so true -- might keep that in mind for a video! ❤️

Hi Brooke is it normal to want to cry In your room alone without your parents know and some days I think about ending my life but I don’t want to hurt my mum.
