I remember watching a BTS video of the scene where Zoolander and Matilda meet David Duchovney's hand model in the cemetery. Zoolander asks "But why male models?" and the hand model gives this huge diatribe. He finishes and Zoolander again asks, "But why male models?" Apparently that was a legit screw up, as Stiller lost his place. Duchovney was just good enough to ad-lib and keep it going and that was the take that made it in to the film.
“Center”lol jk I forget about the queen’s.. kings english? I’m just messing I know Americans are the odd ones out most of the time but I still get to poke fun at my cousins in jest.
No shit there I was... On my first deployment in 2002, and I watched Zoolander and became hooked on Stiler's comedy films as a result. Comedy in dark places... Between this one and Team America (on a later deployment...), laughter is the best anti-depressant in such places. So, the tragedy wasn't all overshadowing despite the financial numbers and ticket sales...
Ben Stiller was actually different in this movie. He normally plays “down on his luck” guys who keep suffering unfortunate situations in his relationships. But regardless it was still a dumb movie
@@davidl570 a LOT was joy mentioned in the documentary. I know the guys in GWAR. The producers cut a lot of stuff that should not have been cut...but it is what it is. Uncle Chuck Varga aka Sexecutioner founding member of the band will have his time to shine and speak soooon...HAIL GWAR!

But honestly, I never knew about Zoolander 2 or the cartoon.....but I can definitely say the first Zoolander was hysterical!!!💜
I care nothing about fashion. Yet this is one of my favorite comedies all time. Even though he is stupid successful, I still do not think Ben Stiller gets enough respect for how great he was and is.
I was hanging out with a group of young teenagers who were all attending a college reunion party with our parents and we were put under supervision with a college teacher and he said that we could rent a video from Blockbuster to watch for the evening and everyone in the class wanted to watch Ghostbusters, so much so that we all started singing the ghostbusters song on the way to Blockbuster only to find out that someone else had already rented it out and so our teacher had to pick a different movie and he chose Zoolander instead. I was so disappointed at first but I will never forget how about 5 minutes into this movie I found myself laughing and enjoying it a lot and it became one of my favorite comedies ever seen and now it’s a movie that I will always love. I’m so glad it worked out so well and yeah it’s become one of my favorites for life! This movie has such fantastic humor and incredible characters and it’s very entertaining too. I’m also very thankful that we have the official ending for sure. I personally believe it’s for the best that they didn’t make the ending where Zoolander dies. I would've cried for that ending for sure!

Hey Minty! Yeeeeee haw! 🤠 Love this one but you forgot to mention that a young (and cute) Alexander Skarsgard is one of the models that gets blown up in the ⛽ scene 😂
Honestly, I think some of the outlandish runway show designs are more about performance and visual look than actually trying to sell clothes people would actually wear.
In late 2022, the film went viral on the short-form video hosting service, TikTok. The trend utilized a couple of scenes starring Stiller and Wilson, creating a renewed interest in the movie.
Here's a great idea for a future video: *"American Godzilla: The 2 Versions You've Never Seen"* from Steve Miner's *"GODZILLA: King of The Monsters in 3-D"* to Jan De Bont's *"GODZILLA '94".*
Hey Minty, love your threads here! Maybe you missed your calling as a cowboy! Also, l think Zoolander is one of those perfect films that came about as a result of all the right people being together doing the right thing at the right time. It's funny, because l was not exactly a huge fan of Ben Stiller. Also was not the hugest fan of Owen Wilson or Will Ferrell in general at the time. And l also resisted watching this movie for several years after it came out because it sounded absolutely stupid to me. But l finally got roped into seeing it, and within literally just a few minutes, l realized it was pure genius and was kicking myself for not watching it sooner. It has become one of my favorite comedies of all time, and greatly increased my respect for the talents of all the main cast members.
Zoolander No 2 is actually an amazing sequel and you need to watch it in the correct mindset. Zoolander was a parody of the fashion world. Zoolander No 2 is a parody of that parody.
In the olden days, people saw "comedies". There were jokes. People laughed. If they didn't want to watch, they did something else. Nobody got shot. Ahh... Gen X times.
Clearly Gen X in the US and the UK have different perspectives, since we tend to leave harping on about 'the good old days' to our parents, who now like to wear cardigans and pretend to be their own parents, the wartime generation. At which screening of a comedy recently was someone shot over not liking a joke, and why does this determine your entire outlook upon generations younger than ourselves?
"Lego Suprise" trumps "Blue Steel"! 😄
It needs to be copyrighted!
The gas station scene still makes me laugh out loud.
LOL! I know! Can you imagine..... spraying GASOLINE all over like a bunch of idiots.... LOL!
To this day, I can't hear that song without thinking of the gas station scene 😂
That was the highlight of the movie.

I love this line so much! My husband and I regularly quote it 😂
"It needs to be at least 3 times this big"..."He's absolutely right".
Will Ferrell's response where he's breaking character is great too. He seems genuinely puzzled and surprised.
Will Ferrel would be funny if he didn’t make so many jokes about Ray Ping and devouring babies. Almost like Hollywood promotes certain people…
Best use of Wake Me Up Before You Go Go in cinema history.
Orange Mocha frappucinos!
My favorite part of the whole movie
My first time was in Kabul, Afghanistan on a low-grade pirated copy during night watch, Spring 2002. Quite nostalgic.

Zoolander 2 had its moments. I laughed at Derek and Hansel making fun of Penelope Cruz's character for just being a "swimsuit" model.
