It was 1973 when my parents bought the B&W Telerad TV for three of us on all becoming graduates. So in winter break in Dec on returning home from AMU my late father a big fan of Indian classic music was hearing on Sat night the National Program of Music on DD. In that 2 room qtr allotted to my late mother on Mall Road of Delhi, four of us had retired to bed while our father was still in the other room having the TV as well the diwan on which he used to sleep was watching and listening. DD that was playing "a late night raag of vocal recital" and gradually it started seeping into me who was trying to sleep otherwise. I just could not fall back to sleep so left the bed and joined by father in his room. Then heard the recital till end reaching till.late 11:30 pm that night. Once it ended I asked Papa if the vocalist is one of the top guy of India. He said the vocalist is Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and he was singing Raag Malkauns. Since that night I have never looked back. And Rasheed Khan Sahab remembering Pandit ji in Gandharva Sammelan was required. Very apt rememberance by him. One more thing listeners should note. In the first 2 minutes when Sarangi player starts playing the notes of Malkauns. Just close your eyes folks and feel the "late night serenity is gradually falling outside your windows as those notes start reverbrating in your ears"! This uniqueness is an integral part of the DNA of Indian raags which the western compositions by even stalwarts as Beethovan, Mozart, Da Vinci, Rahamanov, Yannini creating remarkable compositions indeed have never been able to capture in their compositions and creations. So, a humble salute to our Indian classical based raags and vocalists as Rasheed Khan Sahab. 💕💕💕👌👌👌
Did Da Vinci play any musical instrument 😂😂😂😂😂😂? Did you accompany with him? Or any if your closest relatives? Please, tell only what you know, and stop where you have even little doubt
Ustad Rashid kha saheb ki swar lahro se itna prabhawit hu ki inke gayun ko sunte sunte hridsy se tallin ho jata hu jaduyi awaj aur swaro ka beautiful prastutikaran wah kya baat hsi
This is my favorite Raag ….. Kyaaaa he baat. So soothing, Kya Sehaj main gaya Ustaad Ji ne 🙏🏼. Absolutely love this, I have heard this many many times. Every time something new to learn. 🙏🏼💕💐
Thank you for the upload. However, what's the point in uploading the drut portion on 19th December, and the vilambit on 23rd🤔😟 The entire Malkauns could have been shared in a single video 🙏
After the bada khayal the lyrics of drut bandish is not suitable.... As the lyrical meaning of bada khayal and drut are very different. I am sorry if am insulting anyone.

Jitendra-Ji: You're absolutely right. I felt the same way, especially because Panditji used to go deep in his eeeee, when we got the Sakshatkar of Ishwar. You don't get that in this rendition of Ustad-Ji, though it's OK otherwise.
Only thing is that he should get his son to be more trained before bringing him on stage all the time. The stark difference will affect his future. In the past when Prasad Khaparde (?) used to accompany, he would sit behind and was far more capable. Now there is shallowness
Nepotism in Hindustani Classical music is great if the Son, daughter, nephew, niece has high caliber. Take the example of Bharat Ratna Bhimsen Joshi ji's son. He is pathetic. But his grandson is quite good. Ustad Rashid Khan's son has a long long long way to go. Doesn't deserve stage presence yet!
Very rarely offsprings have come even close to their parent's heights in music..... should tell something about whether or not to promote them. In my opinion it kills their quest to become good because of easy limelight. Armaan just doesn't have the voice culture while Rashinbhai was giving performances like stalwarts at the age of 16.
Very much true... Last year at Dover lane music conference (2022), his son got a slot for solo performance.... Regarding the performance, let's better not to say...

This is not Malkauns. I agree.
Huh really? Totally Malkauns.
That's what I thought. This might be Bhimpalsi
This is pure Malkauns. Not sure why some folks think it is Bhimpalasi. That is a totally different raga.

I completely agree with SP.
The son is like an eye sore.
The dignity of the art & the occasion is completely lost.
This is not Malkauns.

This is Malkans . Listen the same composition by Ustad Amir Khan.
