    Nike is the largest sports brand in the world boasting a market cap that's higher than even Coca-Cola and Toyota. Considering this, I don't think you'd be surprised to hear that the founder of Nike, Phil Knight, is part of the top 20 richest people in the world with a net worth of $62.2 billion. However, unlike other mega-cap company founders like Steve Jobs and Jeff Bezos, not many people know about Phil Knight. Phil was actually a world-class runner himself as a young adult with a record mile time of 4:13. After graduating college, Phil partnered with his coach, Bill Bowerman, to launch a sports shoe brand called Blue Ribbon Sports. Eventually, the duo launched a new brand of shoe called Nike which ended up overshadowing the rest of the company. Ever since then, Phil has full-heartedly embraced Nike which has played out extremely well for him. This video explains the story of Nike's founder, Phil Knight, and why Phil Knight prefers to maintain such a private image.

    Good video, but it isn't entirely true that Bill and Phil were forced to create their own shoes, in fact they designed shoes for Onitsuka Tiger way before they cut the deal with them. When they didn't have the rights to sell Onitsuka any longer, they just produced their own designs and sold them

    Studio Laika's movies are among the most consistently critically acclaimed in the film industry with a track record similar to that of early Pixar. They're also unique in that they're the only major studio that continues to specialise exclusively in stop motion animation, a time intensive process that requires enormous investment that normal companies would be unwilling to make for fear of profit loss. I think Phil's backing of his son is more akin to that of a patron and an artist rather than to outright nepotism.

    The direct comparison between nike paying Vietnamese workers less than a dollar and amazon paying american workers less than 15 dollars is extremely misleading. Without taking the cost of living or median wages in the 2 counties into consideration you are painting a wrong image. You should really look into correcting this

    Nepotism is not right. In fact he did the right thing by not throwing money at his son and making him buy the animation company. Instead he made him work and slowly transitioned him to the top. Wish all the rich did that which would lead to less Gucci Gangs.

    Nike couldn't pay their 3rd world employees more if they wanted to. In some of these countries even a low wage by American standards is higher than what a doctor or an engineer would make. Local politicians often don't allow that to happen, because if working at a shoe factory was the most prestigious / best paying job one could get it would make it very hard for their societies to move forward, improve and build their own wealth. I wish more people would try to understand nuances like this before rushing to judgement.

      This is a very flawed argument no company wants to pay more to the employees than similar businesses in the area are paying. Their sole reason for manufacturing in 3rd world countries is to cut Operation costs. Thats will give employees minimum wage possible.

    • @caty863
      @caty863 2 года назад +3

      Your argument is laughable. If you don't want to pay scraps but the government wouldn't allow you to, then why would you move your manufacturing to that country?

  • @Juduh
    @Juduh 2 года назад +1

    Repent, trust, and believe in Jesus and be saved. To repent means you confess your sins (the acts and thoughts that are wrong according to God and His Word) and ask for forgiveness with sincerity. Once you do this, strive to no longer do those wrong/sinful things, but do what is right according to God’s Word. It’s not by doing good things that you are saved but by trusting and believing in God and His grace/mercy. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
