This is such a lovely quilt. If I went for sashing, I think I’d do it the same width as the strips in the quilt block so it didn’t jump out too much. The border frames it beautifully.
Thanks for this video. I wanted an easier way to do one of these. Tried one yrs ago and gave the pieces away never finished. On the clapper, I have a husband that made me one then I burned my name on it. Then I had him make me 2square ones 6” and 4”. Use them all time.
Beautiful quilt. I love the ideas you inspire - thank you! I agree with you and would not have added sashing strips around the blocks. However, here's what I would do ;) First, I would cut the blocks one less time than you did, so that there wouldn't be as many black strips. Then, once the blocks were sewn together, and before adding a border, I would look at the *entire quilt as one big block and would do the same technique. In other words, I'd cut the entire quilt, add a long [maybe 3", unfinished?] strip, turn, cut the quilt, add a strip... I realize that would be a daring thing to do, but that's what I would do. Someone else said your quilt looked like a grid map -- I agree. Perhaps the strips that I would have added may look like the major highways :)
It is lovely without sashing. The border is perfect. I love it! Thank you for the video. BTW, I learned about your channel from Brenda at Conquering Mount Scrapmore.
I love that you thought of that! I didn't think of it until I put the first tiny border around the whole thing. If I was smarter, I would've left 2 'holes' in the border for entrances & exits. You're brilliant!
Using your theme of floor plans, I would use sashing and make it look something like an apartment complex. Fun quilt. How different would it look using 2.5” strips.
I think using bigger strips would change it quite a bit. If you used 2.5" strips for the sashing however, that would tidy it up a great deal. I like this idea. I hope you try it and send me a picture!
Just wondering what happens if you cut in the middle, sounded scary 🤭. I’ve ordered 3 yards of this beautiful fabric and looking forward to making this, great border! Thanks so much for the video 🥰
Hi Suze, I love your quilt videos and have tried a couple. Have you tried buying fabric from Marshall Dry Goods? I've been purchasing from them for about 2 years. you can purchase by the yard or bolt most bolts 42" width x 15yrds are under $40.00
Your idea sounds the way to go. With all the mixed sashes, an all over design would not look right. Love the design, have to add it to my list of quilts to make.
Thank you for the video, but for my ADHD brain I found it too distracting, I could not rest my eyes and I don’t think a border would make a difference for me. I do love your choice of fabric though.
Looks like a village with roads leading to all the places to go .love it
It does!
This is such a lovely quilt. If I went for sashing, I think I’d do it the same width as the strips in the quilt block so it didn’t jump out too much. The border frames it beautifully.
My grandson would love to roll his hot wheels cars through the labyrinth. ❤
How fun! I have an adult grandson in need of a quilt. I think he'd get a kick out of this! Thank you for the pattern!
Enjoy!
Great job. I love the border, it adds so much to an already beautiful quilt.
👍👍👍 YT only allows one thumbs up, so here’s some more! I will definitely make this quilt!😊
You're the best! Thanks for all the thumbs ups!

Wonderful!
My first instinct was sashing and set on point. That might be fun to try …
Another hit, Suze!
If you make it that way, I'd love to see the end result!!
I love it. What a great way to use only one focal fabric.
Thank you! 😊
Your Quilt turned out very unique. I just Love it !!
Thank you! Cheers!
What a super quilt! The border is an AMAZING finish!
Thanks for watching!
Love this! The colors are gorgeous, & it’s so easy!
I just popped over & found your fbook group. Can’t wait to see the posts there.
Thanks so much! 😊
Cool idea! With the sashing it looked kinda of like a map of a city, with main roads and little alleyways.
I think so too! There are so many possibilities with this one, I think. It's great to see you!
Border makes it shine!
I think so too! Thanks for watching!
I love this quilt! So glad you didn’t add sashing because it adds to the unique-ness. The border is great, too. 🎉❤
Thank you! 😊
Gorgeous!!!
Thank you!!
I have always wanted to make a floor plan quilt! Just haven't figured out how. Yet. I LOVE looking at floor plans.
I’ll admit I love looking at floor plans too.
The border makes the whole pattern pop. Nice
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Totally would add the sashing. It just adds to it.
Oh how this block tickles me!!! Thank you
I bet it would look good set on point too!
Love this idea... but i think i'm going to try it with a solid background and use my BIG BUCKET of 1.5" strips! TY
There ya go! Kind of a reverse idea. I like it!
Love this Quilt!!

What an interesting idea! If you give it a shot, I would love to see the results!
GENIUS!😊
Love this quilt!
Very nice! 😍 Thank you for sharing. 😊🌹🦋
Thank you! Cheers!
this is stunning ❤
Thanks Heidi - it's great to see you again!
❤ what a great idea. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Very pretty! Thank tou for sharing this idea with us.
Glad you like it!
Great finish with that border!
Thanks Linda - It took me longer to figure out how I wanted the border than it did to make the whole body of the quilt. LOL
Love your beautiful easy blocks. I have used a couple of your blocks. Thank you
It is lovely without sashing. The border is perfect. I love it! Thank you for the video. BTW, I learned about your channel from Brenda at Conquering Mount Scrapmore.
Awesome! Thanks for checking my channel out!
Absolutely beautiful. Can’t wait to try this. Thank you
You’re welcome 😊 I hope you give it a go!
very pretty
Thank you! 😊
Your border is fantastic!
I liked the sashing idea; also the blocks don't have to be in the same position, maybe stagger the joins in the rows. Love your colour choices.😍
That is so cool
Thanks! I think it's pretty cool, too!
Love the blocks
Sandra B. ❤️
Love the quilt, I have a fabric that is similar can’t wait to try your new quil
Have fun!
Wonderful!! What a fun quilt!
Thank you! 😊
Great quilt, looking forward to making one!
Hope you enjoy it!
Love it ❤️ easy simple and beautiful
Yes! Thank you!
I recently started using a clapper and I love the results. I went ahead and bought a second one! This is a very cool quilt!
I totally agree! Those clappers are super nice to work with.
So beautifull...looks like a rare skript pattern opal.
Thank you! Cheers!
I do love your ideas! You think in a playful way! The quilt looks wonderful. I was leaning toward a sashing…now I don’t know!
I had someone in our guild make it with sashing and I actually liked it better! She used the same width sashing as in the strips.
Gorgeous 👍👋❤
Hi from South Africa 🇿🇦 wow that is beautiful. Not sure if I'm the only one but some of those blocks look 3d😮
Greetings! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful quilt, thank you so much for sharing
Thank you! 😊
I personally would put sashing between the blocks. I think it would look more cohesive. It’s beautiful either way though!
Beautiful. 🥰 Adding sashing that is the same width would turn it into a stained glass window quilt.
I agree 100%! I seriously thought about doing that.
Nice quilt. This Border is the finish this one needed. I use only Pieces borders if at all.
I agree - not all quilts want a border, but sometimes a special border is just what's needed.
Thank you!!!! Love it!!
So glad!
This is gorgeous! Good Job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Fun quilt! I wonder if there is an entrance and an exit that you can travel between through your labyrinth
I love that you thought of that! I didn't think of it until I put the first tiny border around the whole thing. If I was smarter, I would've left 2 'holes' in the border for entrances & exits. You're brilliant!
I might use a tiny stripe as a smashing and use it as a binding as well!
Someone made it with sashing and I liked it even better!
I like the technique for using that fabric you can't cut.
Me too. This fabric is sooo pretty!
Really like how this turned out.
I do too. Next time, I will add thin sashing between the blocks.
Love This! Thank you😊
You are so welcome!
Very creative idea!
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Fantastic!
Thank you! Cheers!
❤❤❤
if you did it in red, yellow and blue with the black sashing it would be reminiscent of Mondrian... hmmm... that could be fun
This would make a GREAT masculine quilt…
I agree 100%!
Fun
Wonderful idea!!!!❤❤❤Is there a path from one end to the other?
I haven't really studied it that intensely, but I'll be there is.
So pretty
Love this quilt but not starting anything this year until I finish all my UFOS, it may take longer than a year.😅😂❤
Let me know how that goes...
I hope you try it and send me a picture!
just my opinion...sashing might be bit much? I really like it the way it is! genius!!
I recently saw one made with sashing & I liked it better.
Just wondering what happens if you cut in the middle, sounded scary 🤭. I’ve ordered 3 yards of this beautiful fabric and looking forward to making this, great border! Thanks so much for the video 🥰
Great question! If you cut down the middle, the lines will be in the same place even though you turn the second piece.
I THINK I WOULD PUT SASHING IN
I think most people would...
Hi Suze, I love your quilt videos and have tried a couple. Have you tried buying fabric from Marshall Dry Goods? I've been purchasing from them for about 2 years. you can purchase by the yard or bolt most bolts 42" width x 15yrds are under $40.00
Not yet! But I get their emails & have been watching.
@@revelationquilts I buy from them often i haven't been disappointed yet. I'm waiting for a delivery of 4 bolts due tomorrow.
Love, love, love!!!! How are you going to quilt the quilt?
I thought about quilting in the black lines, plus adding motifs or designs in the bigger squares (or rooms) of the labyrinth. How would you quilt it?
Your idea sounds the way to go. With all the mixed sashes, an all over design would not look right. Love the design, have to add it to my list of quilts to make.
No sashing please ....but yes to a border!
Better without sashing.
Thank you. I couldn’t decide until the very last minute.
Thank you for the video, but for my ADHD brain I found it too distracting, I could not rest my eyes and I don’t think a border would make a difference for me. I do love your choice of fabric though.
Adding sashing would calm the whole thing down for you I think.
❤❤
