@@SHADOWFRENZY92once you get into basic training then you no longer need to self-motivates to do fitness, the army will make sure you do it. All you need is to be fit enough to start and then the army will take over. Once you've been doing regular exercise for months because you've been told to it becomes a habit and motivating yourself becomes easier. As you get fitter you will even start enjoying it, particularly sports. The easiest way to increase motivation to get fit is to get a gym buddy, someone who will hold you to account and make you go. In the army you'll have loads of them but before you join you'll need to find one.

How can I know if I can cut it in terms of stress resilience and performance under pressure? I’ve been in physical confrontations many times and I’d fight back but it always feels like I’m distracted and paying too much attention to the opponent’s shit talking. I feel like I’m on a different planet when shit goes down and only restore full confidence and concentration once I start winning. I always start passively and almost afraid, but force myself to stay in the shit to maintain self respect after. Furthermore I wrote my dissertation in uni over a 36 hour non stop study period where I missed sleep and way utterly exhausted from the experience. Still wrote that shit well enough to pass no sleep and all. Surely that counts for something. Physically I’m great, I just need cardiovascular fitness and I’m set. I can do 15 proper pull-ups and shit. I really wanna build up my character through the military but I don’t wanna waste my time if it isn’t for me since I have a life here and a somewhat nice career

But saddlery i got a message on my portal that they can't move on with my application because i have been living outside my country for more than 6 month. Do your medical correct and carefully when filling the medical form. Usually most we don't have to get a optometrist report cause we didn't say that we have weak eyes. Cause obviously the real test will be during the assessment day.

I'm in my early 30s so I'm below the cut off, but realistically (assuming I passed selection) would there be any prospects for me? I want to join before my age makes the choice for me. Once it's opened for Commonwealth. You can still dodge that question at the initial stage. Just put in a date that you're in the UK. Cause you need your application rolling and not stopping at the early stage.

Yes. I believe you should join the British army. The British army is very powerful. They defeated the French army led by Napoleon at the battle of Waterloo and although they lost the British American territory in the American war of independence they still got there revenge when they burnt down the White House.

Pretty misleading with alot of them good points quick Google searches will disprove alot of it such as accommodation standards for on camp and family accommodation pay rates are not attractive for most people unless fresh out of school with no responsibility most will take pay cut and quite a large pay cut adventurous training is a thing bit you'll hardly ever get released for it. Any good ops or exercises getting fewer and fewer and less time to enjoy it I agree with most the bad stuff and all you gotta do is look at the retention and wounder why we lost 16k troops to year ago and I think 12k last year when only 73k serving in regs Not all bad but definitely don't go belive everything about how good it is as comes with alot of crap too and most leave after 4 years now. Don't know anyone that wants to be in either stuck with retention, pension trapped or loaded with debt and won't take the risk to leave Education yea you get trained but alot of stuff now has lost its civilian certification until you do your class one that could be 5 6 years after you joined and 18 month retention after it finishes Education

The British Army needs to move with the times like it has done in the past. Too many desk jockey crap soldiers dictating pointless rules like shaving is the backbone of the Army. Is it really..... I don't think so. Is that why all the best soldiers I've ever known at home and overseas all have beards on leave or on tour. The Navy historically set the standard, The RAF followed suit and the Army as usual are holdding off. Pathetic. You want good soldiers then give them the freedom to not shave every day of there lives, it takes away a big chunk of someone's identity. It also creates an us and them type of environment for soldiers that are allowed to grow one, for what ever reason that is. So would I recommend people join the Army.... I'm still on the fence with that answer tbh
The beards and shaving was down to the respirators not sealing if you had a beard etc. It’s not about taking away a persons beard growing freedom. I think it will come in soon though.

Yes, if you can fulfill the standard entry criteria. They do enjoy the same salary and benefits as UK citizens. You can find the salary online.
