Yesterday I was going install my LG Pro series headers 1 of the 12 exh man was broken inside of the cylinder head. I attempted to drill it out went a little too deep and coolant came out. So my question , is the cylinder head ruined or once the broken bolt is extracted will a new bolt with a sealant of some sort seal it back up ? Thanks !
Is this completely stock other than the Kooks headers and Xpipe? I am buying a C5 base model soon and it has kooks headers and x pipe with z06 ti axle back, will it sound like this? that cold start and idle was nuts, I got a cold start video of the car and it sounds MUCH quieter than yours
Filming makes every job take quite a bit longer than usual. So it’s hard to gauge what it would have taken without moving cameras and lights. I’d say 3-4 hours.
Nice video. I have a set Kooks 1-3/4 on my C5. I have a leak and it looks like it is where the headers connect to the mid pipe. How tight do those bolts need to be?
Hello scott,im in the pa area,I bought a 2002 c5 corvette, looking to get headers and exaughst,do you do side jobs?Or if not do you know of any reputable shops in pa i could go to?any info is appreciated ty.
@@Team512 I have a 2004 C5 Z06 and strongly considering Kooks, but need to look into long tube vs shorty headers and x pipe, because I don't know the difference. I want to keep my stock cats. Cheers
Just curious I just ordered these for my c5 zo6 and was wondering to you think it would be worth getting them ceramic coated ? I didn’t know if the additional heat under the hood would cause any long term issues as I’ve been told it will get hotter under there vs having the stock manifold.
There are 2 versions of the catted Xpipe for the C5. Here ya go: five12garage.com/collections/c5-exhaust?_=pf&pf_v_vendor=Kooks%20Headers Feel free to email me with any questions: scott@teamfive12.com
@@Team512 No I mean for the used ZO6 x pipe. I can get brand new x pipes anywhere I just rather not throw away huge amount of money. It's good to recycle, right?
Jake needs a "Jake" logo or two on his ZO6.😁 Great move Jake to go the header route. There goes your gas mileage due to you wanting to hear those wonderful notes exiting out the back.😉 Scott, is there a torgue setting for the nuts used to permanently mount the headers? Save the Wave👋
PC! How ya doing man!?! New exhaust is very bad for gas mileage indeed. Lol. Checkout the 6'17" mark in the vid. Look for the Hot Tip pop up. I cover the torque specs. GM recommends 18 ft lbs on the exhaust manifold bolts.
How do you make your Corvette have that straight-out-of-the-trailer-park-look? Step one, black wheels. Step two, make it LOUD. I'm so glad my C5 is almost 100% stock.
Can never go wrong with a good set of headers. Better sound and better power. Win/win.
Totally agree!!!
Cook the starter...and can you say bitch to replace,,, got to take the entire underneath the car apart...thats a loose loose if you ask me.
I did the same set up on my c5 with billy boat bullets and wow what a difference!!! Great content like always
Thanks so much Dan! Pedal to the metal!
The one thing I wanted to see yaa skipped over. The actual installation of the header.
sounds great! making me want some headers on mine even more!!
Let’s do it!
He’s the bob ross of cars
I’ll take that as a compliment? He has better hair tho.
Oh yea baby. I'm glad you remembered to plug the cool packs back in 😉
Haha! I actually told Jake about that while we were putting things back together. Lol.
oh im getting excited, idk what you did but my xpipe should be here friday. apparently wizard was an appropriate nick name. thanks man.
I got your back brotha!
Sounds good! Loving Jake's Z06! 😍
Such an improvement! Those wheels 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Man!! Means a lot! Definitely a fun car!
I like the sound of Jake's Z06 AFTER the headers were installed. What do you think?
love it

Yes!!! What’s your second favorite color?
Another amazing mod!!!! Sounds Awesome!!!🔥🔥🔥
I need to get my order in for the headers soon. 👍🏼
Yeah buddy! 👊
Just curious if you got a cel from lack of cats? If so what was the fix?
How much more horsepower is added with the new headers if any love the sound
Definitely adds a few ponies. A dyno tune is necessary to take full advantage.
Probly lost enuf tq on the bottom to notice.
My C6 definitly lost tq with headers only.
I knew something was going on the other day when I hear that...
I need more neighbors like you.
"Wiggle and Jiggle" are indeed technical terms. LOL.
Wow. Those cold revs hurt lol
what do you charge to do that job?
Nice work as always 💯💯
Thanks man! I appreciate the kid words. Love your drawings.
@@Team512 thanks man 👍👍
LS all day baby sounds soooo good 💪💪🔥🔥
What was the x pipe you used?
Factory Kooks
What type of lift were you using to lift the C5 in the garage
MaxJax M6

This can be a common issues if the header bolts were torqued before the couplers. Have you tried tightening the coupler bolts?
What size were those kook headers?
ooo, what wheels are those??

I have about 10K on my car with headers and no issues. Some folks opt for adding hood vents to relieve excess heat.
Ok thanks for the info.
