In my eyes you just built my dream truck especially with the port hole axles to bad ass that thing rocks in every way now 7.3. Built to the top great job bro
Yeah, I knew a guy Eric Sterbenz from Wasilla when I was in the Army in Fairbanks! I gotta say that you guys in Alaska are lucky to have all that great open space for wheelin! Truck is bad ass, have fun with it! Hope to get back up to Alaska soon.
Yea thats what i hear. I would of never wasted the money on the lift kit if i knew about portals. Why lift your suspension?? Axles are the lowest point, answere is portals for real. Then, locking differentials. Thats all you need
russ carney biggest advantage of the portal (imo) is the gear reduction. However, that's also usually the biggest drawback. Most portal kits have a pretty steep gear reduction, and unless you're rocking some serious tire, you'll likely have a gear ratio too steep to drive on the highways. I've also read that many portals require frequent maintenance due to the heat they generate if you do DD with them. This is all speculation from my research however. I looked all over for portals for my old F250, but due to it's somewhat oddball Dana 70 rear end, never went through with it. I now also have a '00 Excursion and have had a rekindled intrest in portal boxes (hence, landing here)
I really like the fact you included the portals for extra ground clearance! The car looks quite beefy with the tires, I bet this would go well over deep snow or mud. How is the car doing 7 years later, please.
An your all jackasses to waste time talking about his typos. Disrespect is exactly why people will forever be shit in this country. Hope you RUclips surfers had fun no go home to your miserable life’s and stop talking shit to people’s that are proud of there shit.
Wish the hell i could find portals to bolt on or just complete portal axles to put on my jeep but of course i can't find anyone who makes them these days.
I think that most of the American trucks have a too stiff suspension,go with relatively soft springs and a good aftermarket shocks, 2,5”-3,0” shocks, preferably Bilsteins they are priced better than Fox or Kings.
interesting build.....the website for the portals says kingpin only...I guess they have a kit for balljoint 60s?. Also, just wondering if you changed the gear ratio in the axles.
Where did you get portals, this is awesome .A person could save a ton of money with minimal work without all the different suspension and gears to adapt. 49" are some big treads, are you going to chop them too?

Dad and the boys are some red white and blue bad asses

Really nice work! especially for being done in the bush on the driveway. The stock look was pretty sweet though.
Portal axle.. I've been into lifted trucks many years now. Ground clearance is critical, never heard of portal axles. Very nice work.
Really? Thats whats always been used on hummvees
+Christopher Williams Can you get a 10-12" portal for front and rear, this would take mudding and path finding to a whole new level. AWESOME

So true, It's hard to believe the time and money you'd save. Be mudding in 1-2 days instead of a month

nice build
I've got a 2000 stock wish mine looked like yours. Awesome job!
Hell yeah buddy! Nice build
Would look even cooler with an aftermarket all steel off-road bumper on the front 👍

to bad we get no update video's. Love anything Alaska
Cool truck! That one picture that says "stock with 38's" doesn't seem right though. I have 35's on mine and they look bigger than that.

Y’all asking where he got the portals clearly have never heard of google. Type in dana50 portals and it’s literally the first one.
I like it!! its a sweet rig with lots of time and some money too but a greasy trim job on the fenders tho lol
Nice !!!
the fact that it was sitting on wooden blocks lol
interesting build.....the website for the portals says kingpin only...I guess they have a kit for balljoint 60s?. Also, just wondering if you changed the gear ratio in the axles.
Man, hacked her all up.. Hard to find anymore.
Q linda camionetita
because people don't come to watch a Spielberg movie when you type in Lifted Excursion on search tab
it’s a thrash of a job but it looks badass
What a monster! V10 or Powerstroke? Does it have enough power for those big tires?
Where did you get portals, this is awesome .A person could save a ton of money with minimal work without all the different suspension and gears to adapt. 49" are some big treads, are you going to chop them too?
like how low you kept it!
Sweetness!
На Сахалине есть FORD Excursion 54 tires
I must have an update video! Nice truck and loving the portals, which ones did you go with?
Like!
U STILL GOT THIS TRUCK?
Cool
Доброго времени суток. Хотелось бы узнать - как порталы (portal axle) в эксплуатации спустя 2 года?
just low quality photos. Anyone like to see some actual video footage?
have you experienced bad axle wrap wheres the updates
Nice job but you're missing something critical.
Where's the winch? You bury this truck and you'll need a friend with loader!
Where’d you get the portal axel kit, who makes it?
were did u get your portals fom?
update?
you gonna wreck your springs in short order gotta either put springs under axle are go with coils
+huk I'd run some Lg diameter coils and coilover struts get rid of the leaf springs
well set up traction bars will work ,Awesome truck
@RogerBuckChrist leave out the motorsports and just type axeltech into your search browser then click on welcome-axeltech International motorsports
Total cost just on suspension?

Nice looks like fu
What part of Alaska you in man?

you could have put 54s on your truck
Gas or Diesel ?
nice is it diesel lol
you have more clearance than a truck with 66 inch tires .yes that is correct
spell much?
You should have had a third grader double check the spelling of your subtitles before you posted this video.
I think we all know what he's talking about. At least he's doing something and posting about it.
Says the spelling police!!!
Alaskans are exempt from the spelling requirements... hahahaha!
