That is so awesome. I have a 2008 Chev Suburban that was previously used to haul a 30 ft toy hauler. It was grossly underpowered so I added a Magnuson supercharger. After seeing your rig at Overland Flagstaff, I bored out my engine, added headers, cam, and high stall torque converter. Also installed 411 gears, BDS 6” lift and skid plates, and roll on 20” XD wheels and 34” tires. Since I couldn’t afford Goose Gear, I made a platform in the rear with two drawers. I can sleep on top, or load up full of gear and sleep in my ruggedized Tepui Kukenam on the roof. People certainly take a second look at such a large platform set up in such a fashion, but I love my truck.

Chris has done a fantastic job on a build the fits his needs & requirements. I totally enjoy and I'm inspired by the awesome photography he produces capering his adventures. Absolutely a great platform for Overland adventure travel and it encouraging see the diversity in the various builds we are seeing on the platform. Same reason I chose the Excursion for our vehicle. One feature Chris didn't mention was the power plant we both share in our vehicles., 7.3lL Powerstroke Diesel. Incredibly reliable, longevity and more than enough power for builds like ours. Properly geared and a mild tune, I can get 600+ mile range. We will be producing a bunch of adventure travel videos, install & tech videos ourselves and would love to have other Overland enthusiasts follow along and join the conversation.

Damn, that thing is awesome. Excursion was a great choice. Overland, why not do it big? Big and rugged, It is well suited for just about anything you can think of. probably the only drawback would be its size on smaller trails. I accidentally stumbled onto your channel and I'm glad I did. I'm definitely going to follow along from this point on.

I have been considering the full sized SUV segment for an overlander, but not sure what I want. I enjoy videos like this to gain perspective! *sighs* Decisions decisions lol
I currently use my beloved 2019 4Runner TRD Off Road, for my off road adventures! I have a 2021 Range Rover as a daily and wouldn't recommend Land Rover as an overlander, unless you are just into weekend adventures closer to home. Range Rovers are my favorite road SUVs, but unfortunately I wouldn't trust it for remote touring lol.
