In legal contemplation it is as inoperative as if it had never been passed... Since an unconstitutional law is void the general principles follow that it imposes no duties, confers no right, creates no office, bestows no power or authority on anyone, affords no protection and justifies no acts performed under it. A void act cannot be legally consistent with a valid one. An unconstitutional law cannot operate to supercede any existing law. Indeed insofar as a statute runs counter to the fundamental law of the land (the constitution)it is superceded thereby. No one is bound to obey an unconstitutional law and no courts are bound to enforce it."

A security guard fellow at a casino in Indiana (about 4 weeks ago), stopped me when we were leaving after lunch, and asked me if the knife I was carrying on my belt in it's sheath was a pocket knife. I simply said of course, I wear it everywhere. He said well, next time you visit just leave it in the car because the policy here says it could be considered a weapon. He was very cool and I respected his calm demeanor. I told him no worries and I did mention to him that hes the only one that's ever said anything to me about my pocket knife. Now I'm 71 years old, and it never crossed my mind that this business would require me to not bring my swiss army knife into their restaurant/casino. So, I guess if i actually had it in one ofmy pockets, they would never have known.

in canada, butterfly knives were banned from ownership because they were popular in gangs. banning them guaranteed you had an offense to arrest and search a suspected criminal for, since it was pretty much guaranteed any gang member would own one.
in great britain, katana are banned from ownership (with a few extra details to not bother museums), because owning a katana was a trend among gang leaders at some point. similarly it means you could easily arrest and search gang leaders based on that ownership of banned item offense when you didn't have solid proof of their activities.

Where I live those retractable sticks are also illegal. But when I was still in military academy, some special service security that guards the parliament and politicians, came and held a talk for us. They said that the law also prevents them to have these sticks, but it would be very useful for when the guarded person is grabbed by someone in the crowd and they would have to brake the hold on them. So they had procurement order them a special gear set that consisted of mirrors that could be attached to telescopic titanium sticks. The gear is supposed to be for when they use the mirror to check under the cars for bombs, but of course, they would need to carry the mirror handles on their belt and the mirrors in their suit. They called these handles "tactical mirror attachment handles" :D The handles could be legally carried and when the need arise....

So, ... How am I supposed to get cops to uphold law and order?

Government wants to even control the type of knife you own… next we will only be able to carry a full butter knife.

England is there. Virtually no circumstances where an average citizen is allowed to have anything more significant than a pen knife, and even that could get you in trouble. Unsurprisingly, the English aren't really the problem at all.

@Irgend ein Name other countries have tons of stabbings and clubbing. And tons of thefts. The only difference? They get away with it.
You know what else they have in those countries? Weaker governments. Here our government is the strongest in the world. We citizens need as many arms as possible to protect ourselves from our government.
Best case scenario of a criminal using a weapon is a civilian, innocent kills that criminal. No court money, no jail money, just one bad actor off the planet earth.
