You betcha and it looks to me like they are doing a great job . They did not go into depth about it but did show what they have done so far and between the over view and the air photo of the farm it looks to be spot on for the better part . I did not see Mr Tom Pemberton or the Ginger warrior or even Heidi but they are doing a great job . Cant wait to play the map .

I worked on a farm that had some cows that were show cows. Tame as ever. I don't like wild cows, but tame ones can be really stubborn (or stupid). We had to put halter on them to go into the trim chute. The pre fix for the farm was Mary Lee. Had a few bulls in stud with different companies. Awesome herd. Just before I left we had a cow go 3EEE 94. If you know about the scoring, you know she was a really good animal.

Interesting to see that you put Penny out with just the vet wrap. when we poultice an abscess on a horse , we will also put on some duct (duck?) tape which waterproofs the wound and keeps it on for longer. could be worth a try.
Hi, Stablefairy! I'm not a farmer or a vet and I know nothing about the technical issues here, but I wonder if the basic cow/horse difference is why cattle don't get the more complete treatment you describe. Horses are not only more active on their feet, but they're also considerably cleaner. Horses poop in neat piles and move around a lot, whereas cow muck is much more liquid (and is constantly mixed with that of the rest of the herd), so maybe it's better to leave wounds and dressings more exposed to avoid trapping gunk. I'm only guessing, but I'd imagine that sealing a horse's hoof with duct tape [I think 'Duck' is the registered name of a waterproof brand of duct tape] is a sensible idea because horses don't stand around in puddles of poop. The Hoof GP deals with all sorts of animals but didn't mention taping here, so maybe it's just a personal choice. Whatever. I hope you and your horses are in excellent health! :-)

You might need to change the crush strap that old the cow leg in the air. The blood circulation is really reduce in the leg because the strap act like a tourniquet. The best thing to have is a trap that have holes to be able to adjust the size of the hole form by the strap. Then the hole will be bigger, you can put a memory foam under the leg to have more comfort for the cow and that make a tighter strap by filling the empty space.
