Make sure the handle is up and in the raised position. If the machine is in the closed position, the timer will count down and beep until it's raised again. You also cannot adjust any settings while the handle is down.
- The pressure is too high on the machine. If it's difficult to close, you may need to loosed the pressure. You can also loosen the pressure all the way and then perform the paper pressure test: heat.press/papertest - The metal plate (shiny aluminum, circle-shaped) on the handle isn't making proper contact with the electromagnet. Our HPN Brand heat presses are factory-tested at full temperature for several hours before shipping. So they do not require a "burn-in" period and will not give off any noticeable smell. Sometimes new t-shirts give off a light smell when heat pressed. Some heat transfer papers and other transfer media will give off fumes that have a slight odor as well. We always recommend heat pressing in a well-ventilated area.
Here are a few troubleshooting tips: - Make sure your heat press is set to Fahrenheit (F) and not Celsius (C) - Plug your heat press directly into the wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord or surge protector (unless rated for >15 amps). Be sure the circuit is able to support at least 15 to 25+ amps, depending on your heat press. - Make sure there aren't any other appliances or machines on the same circuit, especially ones that draw lots of power (refrigerators, hair dryers, microwaves, etc). If you really need to know the pressure on heat machine buy one that has a pressure gauge. Dont make the mistake I made, I am trying to save you money.

What would cause the press to not close? This is a brand new 15x15 slide out with auto open.

I having a problem with the temperature. Is set up to 320 and the temperature just heat up to 230
