for those wondering about extreme alternator set up and the bullet proof glass this used to be one of the loudest vehicles on the planet as alma before she passed was retired for extreme competing she still kept the bronco and changed it into a show piece the reason why the alternator set up remains in butnot fully working is because it was on of the most well know and unique setups around with the chain drive and looks bad ass so thats my tid bit of info

I used to love going and seeing the vehicles from car audio magazines that featured JL audio, since Audio Specialists often did their installs you could go to the showroom and there they were right in South Bend, Indiana! The BMW the Volkswagen and a few others were there! I thought JL held a world record it was either two 12 or 13 W7's and hit 180+db with two 1500 watt amps! Volkswagen GTI is pictured at their website but the BMW is missing it was all black! BMW had a clean install through the back seats and left plenty of trunk room, that install was featured and photographed during its construction in a magazine! It is funny JL started out as a home speaker company then turned into one of the Most known car audio companies in the early days of Car audio! A total of seven Speaker Warehouse vehicles qualified for the IASCA Finals 1989! The team sent nine cars and took home five 1st place trophies in 1990 and continued their winning trend for the next five years. JL Banging the Earth since 1980's! I still have my 15 year old 15"JL W08's they are 8 ohms each, 6 layer VC, Had them paired with 2 12 WO8's and ran them on a Clarion APX400.4 the 15's were in 2.5 Cu ft ported enclosures and the twelves were in powerwedge box! I set off a bank alarm, Got pulled over by cops to see what I had, got pointed at by a firehouse with a parking lot full of men in long johns they were pointing me out to a cop! Almost got fired for shaking my bosses walls that were over 600 feet away he called my plant and asked who had the system! I had to use 1/2" thick RV rubber dampening to stop the walls of my Aerostar extended from buckling and bending! I could make other peoples cars swell with my bass! I even got approached when I pulled into a HCCA dealer to buy some power wire, he asked me what I had and said it made him think the radio was on the HCCA's were coming out of the box! I got laughed at when he seen it, he just couldn't believe how loud it was! If you turned it up driving your eyes would shake and you could barely hold the wheel! 180 watts x 2 yet I should have had 550 running them to meet the continuous power requirement!

alma gates was awesome! but if you look close enough those alternators arent hooked up because the chain isnt around the center larger drive sprocket.

i actually got a demo of this vehicle in 1997 in toronto canada. they built a box in the entire cab of the vehicle. if i remember right they had 64 10" PPI subs and 32 PPI PC2350 amplifiers. i stuck my head inside the cab and got an instant headache from how loud that thing was. RIP Alma! i was hooked from that moment since!

JP it is always nice to see that truck.. Alma's bronco was the first 160+ db car/truck I had ever got a chance to see in person in the mid 90's at USAC world finals in KC. It looked a lot different then and has been through many changes since. It is good to see it out playing even if some of these kids posting on here never saw or heard of Alma her legend and history remain a strong driving force for all in car audio. RIP Alma Gates

i sat in this truck when it was in its prime in 08 it was great! my friend used to be the driver that drove it from place to place.
The Loudest setup in that bronco was the old kicker setup. Beast mode!!
No it wasnt.. this bronco was a new build after going to jbl.. the 1st bronco was the kicker/ppi vehicle
amazing truck, glad they are still showing it and keeping her legacy going
love the team gates bronco one of my all time favorite installs period saw this in person back in 04-05 sounded amazing. totaly flawless.

that's not the same truck as the old red kicker one. the red one was junked a long time ago

kinda sad to see this thing "hollowed" out, the alts aren't even driven by the motor and there is a serious lack of amplifier power, just a pretty show truck now
Glad you said it. Was thinking the same thing. I saw it in '00 or 01 or so full of ppi gear at iasca finals. My jaw dropped when the camera panned inside and the wall was gone.
truth speaks it is a completely different bronco, sadly the original was trashed. That's what I have heard at least
