    Have you tested and made calculations for wind turbines with sails, which operate at a wind of 2 meters per second, and in strong winds can gather sails and continue to operate?

    What is the Betz limit (the theoretical maximum efficiency) for a wind turbine?

    • @mayalmanssori1915
      @mayalmanssori1915 2 года назад

      The Betz limit is the theoretical maximum efficiency for a wind turbine, conjectured by German physicist Albert Betz in 1919. Betz concluded that this value is 59.3%, meaning that at most only 59.3% of the kinetic energy from wind can be used to spin the turbine and generate electricity.

      maximum energy can be extracted from the wind if it is slowed down to one-third of its original speed. 59.3% is the maximum amount that can be extracted from wind

      The Betz limit, proposed by German physicist Albert Betz in 1919, is the theoretical maximum efficiency for a wind turbine. This threshold, according to Betz, is 59.3 percent, which means that only 59.3 percent of the kinetic energy from the wind can be utilized to spin the turbine and create power.

    D. What is the rpm of the generator shaft in a typical a wind turbine?

    • @mouzaalzaabi4923
      @mouzaalzaabi4923 2 года назад

      Large-scale turbines typically rotate at 20 rpm, while domestic sized turbines tend to revolve at roughly 400 rpm. In most large-scale turbines, the low speed shaft is connected to a gearbox. The gearbox increases the rotational speed of the shaft, up to 1200-1800 rpm.
