We're diving deep into the flavors that define Chicago's vibrant food scene, from char dogs and cheddar fries to legendary Italian beef and classic deep-dish pizza. You know what we do, Film eat repeat; let's go find something tasty to eat.
The Wiener's Circle: A Flavorful Icon
Our first stop is The Wiener's Circle, a beloved establishment in Lincoln Park, located at 2622 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614. This iconic eatery has been serving up its signature Char Dogs and Cheddar Fries for 40 years, alongside a side of playful, and sometimes rowdy, verbal banter. As soon as we step in, the lively atmosphere hits us, with the energy of the staff and patrons creating a uniquely vibrant environment. Recently, The Wiener's Circle has added a bar, so you can enjoy a cold beer while waiting for your delicious char dog.
We share our first impressions of the place, noting the blend of nostalgia and excitement that fills the air. The walls are adorned with memorabilia, and the aroma of grilling sausages is simply irresistible. As we take our first bite of their famous Char Dog, topped with all the classic fixings, we can't help but marvel at the perfect balance of flavors. The crispiness of the fries, smothered in rich cheddar cheese, complements the juicy, char-grilled hot dog perfectly. It's easy to see why this spot has remained a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
Johnnie's Beef: The Mecca of Italian Beef
Next, we journey to Elmwood Park to visit Johnnie's Beef, situated at 7500 W North Ave, Elmwood Park, IL 60707. This unassuming yet legendary spot is revered as the Mecca of Italian Beef. The modest, one-story building with a 1960s aesthetic might not look like much from the outside, but inside, it's all about the food. Known for its incredibly flavorful Italian beef sandwiches and efficient, rapid-fire service, Johnnie's Beef offers a quintessential Chicago experience.
Ordering at Johnnie's is an experience in itself. With a line that moves swiftly, you need to know exactly what you want. We walk you through the process, sharing tips on how to order like a pro. Once we get our hands on the famous Italian beef sandwich, we are blown away by the rich, marinated beef, topped with sweet peppers, giardiniera, and encased in a fresh, crusty roll. The crispy fries are the perfect accompaniment, making each bite a harmonious blend of flavors and textures.
Giordano's: The King of Deep-Dish Pizza
Our final stop is Giordano's, renowned for its deep-dish pizza. With locations throughout Chicago, we visit the one near Rosemont/O’Hare at 9415 W Higgins Rd, Rosemont, IL 60018, which is perfect for travelers and locals alike. Giordano's has built a 40-year reputation for its outstanding artisanal deep-dish pie, and it's a must-visit for anyone in the city.
We dive into the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into each pizza at Giordano's. The Chicago Classic Deep-Dish Pizza is a work of art, featuring layers of the cheesiest mozzarella, ripest vegetables, and most flavorful meats, all baked to perfection in a flaky, pie-like crust. As we take our first bite, the gooey cheese pull and rich, savory flavors are absolutely unforgettable. Each slice is a hearty, satisfying meal in itself, making it clear why Giordano's is a staple in Chicago's culinary scene.

Giordano’s to pizza is Dickeys to BBQ. One in every suburb like Gino’s East. Try Pequods, or a dozen different local spots. And don’t get take out, I don’t pretend I got it fresh when I walk out of Buc ees and eat it 45 minutes down the road, as much as I respect the chain.
Just like y’all have a bbq spot every few miles in NC, same as here in Florida, Chicago has the same for dogs and sandwiches. Can’t help you with the hot dog, that’s how they make them. I never cared for them either. But if you went to say Lucky’s in Wrigleyville, you could have had a legit sandwich of any type, including a beef. At a chain like Al’s, you could get a dry sandwich and have it topped in a dozen ways too. Everyone and their mother likes it made different, now that you’ve had the original, try a different way!
Great video, keep up the good eating!

Never get a sandwich dipped in Chicago I'd recommend because it's not necessary and just gonna turn your sandwich to mush. It's already moist enough as is.

We 100% agree with this statement. We saw another RUclipsr do a Chicago food tour with a local and this is how they told them to order it. So, that is what we did, lol. Never again.
