We booked an Air BnB in Cancun and when we showed up it was being built. So, we had no where to stay while we were stranded on the side of the road with our kids and luggage.

It is really good. It is not like a philly from Philly.

Are you asking how much for everything?

I am planning my retirement. I live on the border of Mexico. It is 15 minutes for my ranch. However the Border towns are not the real Mexico. There is a Cartel War going on 20 miles from property. It is the first time in 50 years. All due to America's last president. Half of my family are Hispanic and are the hardest and most fun people to be around.

@ Sorry to hear about the issue at the boarder where you live. We have been to Mexico many times in the Quintana Roo and Yucatan states, and we have never had or seen an issue with the Cartel. We also Don't go to the party scenes at night. We have always felt safe while in this area. At this point we have drove all the way from Cancun to Bacalar and back stopping at different cities along the way. If you want to see more on where we have been in Mexico, we have a play list just for Mexico.

@meltonsonthemove the Cartel issue is mainly a border issue. They run drugs and Traffick Human Beings all the time. The American Government does nothing. Depends on the time of year you go here. unfortunately, we went in July and there was some sargassum in the water. it is a beautiful blue when they are not dealing with this issue. The good thing about this area is there is the lagoon Yal-Ku that is always very beautiful even if the ocean is having issues. In Akumal there are four grocery stores that have most things in them. If you are looking for a larger store that you can find about anything you could want, there are a few places right down the road in Tulum. If you are looking for your typical grocery store there is a Súper Akí that is a 22-minute drive away. Then if you are looking for a store that is more like a Wal-Mart there is the Selecto Chedraui that are very close to each other. We needed puddle jumpers for the kids, and we find those and some food items we needed at the Selecto Chedraui. Then we did our main grocery shopping at the Súper Akí in Tulum. Distance to activities depends on what you want to do. Tulum is just over a 20-minute drive and Playa del Carmen is about 35 minutes away. So, there is plenty to do in the area close by. Also, if you want to check out a video on the Lagoon Yal-Ku you can watch this video we made on the lagoon it is about a 3-4-minute drive from where we stayed this time and we stayed on site last time, so it was a one-minute walk. ruclips.net/video/Zy2lBjSKAuU/видео.html. The side platforms that we had never heard of before. Before going all we really knew was the main temple and ball court. There is so much more to this site. Unfortunately, due to the weather and the children being tired there is about a third of the site we did not get to see.

We are glad You found what you were looking for. We could not find one either when looking this place up for us to stay here so we decided to start making reviews of everywhere we stayed in Mexico. We try and do our homework on where we are going to go eat before we try a place. There is nothing worse with the cost of food these days than spending a lot of money on sub-par food. We are glad you liked the video. Stay tuned a lot more to come.

If you find yourself in the hotel zone in Cancun this is must try place to eat at. It is on the south end of the hotel zone.

This was our second road trip around Quintana Roo. On our trips, we gone to Bacalar, Tulum, Akumal, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Leona Vicario, Vallaolid, Cancun, and Isla Mujeres. This is the only issue we have ever had in our many trips to Mexico. Thanks for the heads up, though.

We did. The next few videos will be in Playa del Carmen. This was our second scouting trip to figure out where we want to move. We think Playa del Carmen fits us best as a home base in Quintana Roo. Thank for watching and we hope you watch the rest of our trip in Mexico.

Technically you are correct it is a hotel room. We booked it through Air BnB though. The other place that scammed us was a condo downtown that we booked with Air BnB, but it was still being built when we showed up, lol. I wish we would have filmed that whole process but, we were freaking out about what to do with all our luggage and kids stranded on the side of the road in downtown Cancun.

You have to do what you have to do sometimes. As always, we never let the small things get us down. We made the best of what the world handed us.

Yes, when we took bites of food we added bite sounds. You should 100% go to Parque de las Palapas still an amazing area to go to. It has changed a lot since we filmed this video back in 2021 as we just went back this past July in 2024. The street vendors and street food are no more in this area when we went in July of 2024. We spoke with the guy that used to have all the games and events for the kids, and he told us the government is not allowing him to operate in this area anymore other than his one merry go round he had. It sucks as we planned our trip around being in Cancun on a Sunday as we took our 5- and 8-year-old with us this time and talked this park up very heavily to them. Then now all of the kid friendly stuff no longer exists anymore. I felt like I let my kids down in a way.
