@@htasul yeah, my mom lost her accent over the years. My dad didn't even have one anymore by the time he passed.
I heard that they made her more “Latina” for the show. For example, Sofia is actually a blonde but in the show they made her dye her hair a dark brown. Apparently, they also made her accentuate Colombian pronunciations for “humour” purposes and for the Latina thing.

It happens when you live in a country you migrated to for a long time. I moved from Ghana to England when I was 12 and my accent stood out. I'm 25 now, and I sound like any South Londoner on the street. Years of listening to other people speak will indefinitely change the way you talk too.

People complaining about Sofia's accent is disgusting. Not only was she directed in the beginning of the series to make it intentionally stronger, but her accents is not comedy or a gag, its HER VOICE as a BILINGÜAL. Of course her accent is gonna be less noticeable the longer she lives and works in the US.

She ran into Gloria's car because she was distracted while riding her bike. It's shown halfway through the episode.
This is one of those scenes where Gloria’s accent was not as pronounced.
It was sad seeing Molly Ephraim with such a small part since she was so great on Last Man Standing.

But I have to say the first 3 seasons were honestly the Best of the best. Not saying rest were bad but I have to say I always find myself going back to first 3 seasons if I want a good laugh, still will watch the last season tho💖

The writing for the show went downhill so quickly. The recent seasons have become bland and predictable.

this is just poor writing, phir who has known her for 10 years, is all of sudden worried that she has "snapped", first 5 season are the best of the show, just watch 5 seasons and phil and lily youtube moments, that would cover the show

Gloria's voice sounds too American. I like her Colombian accent and the way she says Phil and yes. Even though the j sound on her yes from season 1 gives me flashbacks to my Peruvian ex-boyfriend, who I dumped a few months ago.

A45 lmao no I’ve heard her in interviews and she speaks with almost no accent. She lives the typical “American lifestyle “ so that’s probably why it’s not as strong. Plus her husband who’s she’s been with for a while is white so idk it’s stuck with her

This show has jumped the shark. It should have ended last yr. This season is just an embarrassment

It jumped the shark several seasons ago. It's gone from a funny, sentimental, relatable comedy to just another manic sitcom stuffed with gags, one-liners and cliches. I was really hoping they'd bring back the writers from the first seasons to wrap up the series.
@eating sugar no papa Really? That's really depressing. Something major had to have changed, though -- it's such a different show now. Bizarre plot lines, more gags than wit. I'll watch it to the end though.
