Her accent has drastically changed since the early episodes
Everyone has changed a bit the last season. The show was close to becoming corny. So its good they end it. Before Lukes gets too hot.
Kinda sounds like she's doing her white accent at points in this clip
Wdym? I havent noticed any changes..
@@eduardochavacano Wdym? I havent noticed any changes (in her accent)
That might not be due the script. Sofia often said that her accent has actually became stronger as years went on.
Lol her justification is on point. If you don't believe in it, it literally is just a little bath.
Right, cause convertions aren't a thing that exists.
john smith have you ever heard of converting?? If the kids turned out to be Muslims or idk, Wicca, they can convert to another religion... it would be a nice story even...
@@pollyanasilva8106 It's against the parents wishes though so it is crossing a line. If the parents don't want a child baptised then it shouldn't happen. That is all. Choosing a childs religion against the parents wishes is disrespectful and not her place to do so.
@@101deathcore if they worship another God then that ultimately means they reject this God. Ever hear of conversion?
plus there's that chance nothing matters and the atheists are right.
and if religion wins on the other side they go to hell for not following who ever is the "right" God or whatever.
imwaytoshort i don’t mean that the grandparents should go behind the parents back... as a Protestant I would be pissed if my partner went behind my back to please his grandma (who is catholic), I mean as the kids grow older and decided that Catholicism isn’t for them, like, they were baptized when babies, but when they grew up one of the kids decided that Buddhism is the deal and the other one things that being a Protestant is the truth... they can go there if they want
“Haley and what’s his names back?” 😂😂😂
Hahaha
I see my mother doing this to my future children
This reminds me of when my great aunts had my sister baptized into Mormonism without our parent's permission... that was a fun time.
But did your sister want to be baptized? If that's the case then that's her commitment between her and God .
Seems like a very interesting story. 🤔

I love how people in this series don't care about things traditional catholics would find innapropriate but still have other standards
Gloria is a latina through and through, I can definitely see my mother and grandmother doing that to my future niece or nephew.
But of course! I am Spaniard and I´d do it too!. Total, se salva el alma y no pasa nada. Cualquier católico bautizado puede bautizar en caso de emergencia. @@mfm4205 Well to be fair, Gloria did say that she had a hard time finding a priest because most were not okay with the baptism being done behind Haley and Dylan's backs. Personally, I thought this was super out of character for Gloria and had no idea why the writers did this. Yes she's Catholic but she has never pushed her beliefs on anyone else in the family before. Hell, she didn't do this with Lily in season 1.

Baptism must NEVER be performed against the will of an infant’s parents!
Acrually must never be performed against the person being baptised's will 😄😄😄 but that's another topic LOL
Tell that to latin grandmothers 😂
Why would any kid's parents not want their children to be baptized? Are you against the idea of your children growing up and understanding and learning about God?

It's not within her character to be a great mom, but they can at least make an effort to showcase her and Dylan more. For the past six episodes the baby's have just been props for the other characters b-story... Instead of developing hayleys character. What's the next episode gonna be, Phil uses the baby's to sell a house.. -. -?
Lol good point. I think the kids character ( hayley luke alex manny) are not really developed well. they had more of presence when they were kids. Now they are very unlikable and cringey to watch.

Never watched this show regularly, but after reading the title, thought she was having Baptism for her twins to keep them safe!
Those aren't her twins. They are her step great grandchildren (weird I know). And the twins real parents made it very clear they don't want the twins baptized. And it is illegal for churches to baptize children without their parents/guardians consent.
@@TimberlakeTigerGirl You missed my joke. Sorry.
I love her accent
I'm really annoyed with this season. I really wanted the writers let Haley and whatshisname succeed with their twins. Instead, they can't settle them in the first episodes and Claire secretly gives them formular etc and now Gloria is doing this. It's the last time we see this family. I want them to be the ones that are not as dysfunctional as their parents. And I want them in the title sequence as another family! X
@Aussie Mama & her B crew I know. I just think that she's always been labeled as a screw up. I just want her to really succeed with this! I loved that they touched on how she doesn't feel like she has mommy instincts, but I really want her to be great. Dylan is a great dad and nurse. I want them to be a great happy family by the end of the season.
In reality, EVERYONE has challenges with their newborn, even more so if you have twins and have never had any parenting experience. It’s not unsuccessful to receive help. It’s a good thing if you can get it.
They just keep going behind their back and disrespecting them they are not their children I wish they would let Haley and Dylan be good parents
Unfortunately that's realistic. Parents always think they know better than you and intervene without asking while you're trying to figure out your role as new mom. My MIL is like that in so many ways so I'm all too familiar with this
Kat Riley is pretty realistic, as a parent, I struggle so much in the begging, especially been a single mom, I had no idea what to do and family will always do stuff behind your back, I used to be very strict on my kid’s diet only to find out that family member will just do things behind my back, is frustrating but after 3 years I learn to let go and to just go with the flow if it’s not causing my kid any harm.
I am pretty sure my kids have been secretly baptized by my mother in law, but honestly I have the same feeling of Gloria - it is just a bath.
Yep, nailed the Catholic piousness right on the head
I personally am a Syriac Orthodox Christian and we don't believe you necessarily have to be baptized to go to heaven. You don't even have to be Christian to go to heaven. Baptism is recommended, but doing good deeds is much more important. We believe that God would much rather take a good person who isn't baptized than a bad person who is baptized. We believe baptism takes away the first sin(Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit), and it also gives people the Holy Spirit, which makes you a Christian and closer to Christ. People who get baptized can sin just as much as a person who isn't baptized. And it would be unfair to people that aren't born into the faith because they might not have the chance to be baptized. Also, we believe in the baptism of blood and baptism of desire. Baptism of Blood is baptism is for someone who died for God, his church, or his creation, and baptism of desire is someone who wanted to be baptized but died before they got the opportunity to do so.
Hollywood doesn’t even know you guys exist 😕

What episode is this
Guys where do u find modern family season 11 I can’t find it on sky 1

"What's his name's back"
I got baptized single handely because alegedly there is a forest spirit in the woods withn the city where I grew up (in latino america) and aparently if you're baptized, you can see the spirit. The logic is that if I ever came across the spirit, I'd ve able to see it and run away before it caught me - whereas the non baptized would just get their asses wipped because they can't see the spirit. I swear to god. I grew up hearing about the offerings we needed to keep in the house in case the spirit ever came knocking. We do have everything stashed just in case. Mind you, we have masters, graduations, jobs, tecnology, internet, access to everything, you name it. But no evolution in the world can manage to kill the collective spiritualism hanging over all countries in latino america. It really is our stuff

I was baptized when i was born. And my mom got my ears peirced when i was 3 months old. I didnt have a choice in not being religious or holes in my body lol
@@hadiakhan6658 Exactly, babies can’t give consent. Better to let them grow up and then once they’re an adult they can choose to be baptised if they want
Okay??? You gonna cry?
I just thought about something technically Gloria would be a step great-grandparent but she's not even blood related which makes her even more out of pocket for this
When my aunt was born, she wasnt doing well. My grandmother was worried sick, then a nun came over and told her if she’s worried about her child she should get her baptized before she falls to limBo!
And thats why my mother said we are protestant 😂
I cant tell if gloria is doing this for the babies’ sake or just to boost her self worth…. Probably the later 😅

Hi Cameron
What the hell is a priest doing here? 😀 😀
I felt like her character change toward the ending of the show. I usually love whatever Gloria does and she makes me laugh. This is one of the episodes I didn't like what Gloria did. To me, I understand that Gloria is coming a place of trying to help but again, to me it's like how dare you do something to my children in this case, baptism, when that's something me and the child's father should decide.
You seriously can't do this. The Catholic Church forbids baptisms if it isn't done with the parents' consent. This action usually gets a person excommunicated from the church.
💯
@@SuperCG07 wow that is serious. Didn't know that
The priest did the baptism wrong.
I would NEVER. My mother is religious, and so am I but my religion is Hellenic (Greek Gods). But I CAN see my grandma doing this, that lady is crazy religious.
Her accent sounds more forced. What happened to her why is accent like that
I think she started going to speech therapy to communicate better and she's been living there for a long time after a while you start to lose your accent
Did someone else feel uncomfortable watching this? Gloria is normally a likeable character but this felt like a very twisted thing to do. A child's religion should be up to their parents/guardians and up to themselves once they're older.
Also, I didn't like how she kept implying that the babies would go to hell because Haley didn't baptize them. Like, what? What did the babies do to deserve that?
Thats what Catholics say. Otherwise you are still stained with original sin. Its a hard concept to let go of if you' ve been ingrained with it since childhood. Actually they say the baby will be " in limbo" whatever that means. Neither here nor there.
@@carollund8251 You're wrong. The common theological opinion is that babies who die unbaptized go in a state of limbo. But this is only an opinion. Only God knows what happens to them.
@@sfappetrupavelandrei I'm wrong about what please? I just gave the common theological opinion. I never said I believe it silly. I think it is BS.
this is quite hard case morality. It is like giving the vaccine to their grandchildren without parent approval.
It only matters to adults. The babies don't care.

@Tomás thank you, that's really interesting. Is it another ritual?
@Tomás do they sign papers?
Not really. But you can get baptised in other faiths . I've heard pf people getting baptized catholic, Baptist and LDS ..
This episode made me hate Gloria, you can't do that. I'm not baptizing my future kids, and if I found out my mother did behind my back I would be VERY MAD, then again she's not religious so i'm not worried about it lol.
This was morally fucked up
I agree, what's the harm? It's not like they would be forced into the religion and just in case, a little protection is not a bad thing.
That's not her decision to make. That is up to Haley and Dylan, the PARENTS, to decide. It's actually illegal for churches to baptize children without the parents/guardians consent because it can count as kidnapping.
I don't want to push religión on my future kids but enlist I want to baptize them
Why are you people so scared about teaching your children about God and helping them cultivate a spiritual relationship with God? "Push religion" is such a sad term to use.
One of the few things that annoyed me about Gloria.
That’s funny now, if only baptizing kids meant they do go to heaven. If only it were that easy 😂
It's merely an initiation into the Catholic Church and community and a step towards learning about God and the teachings of Jesus.
Yeah you win in court because public like facility was destroyed, public insecure and etc... Including mental illness entire people or it goes public... And other
I know this is played for a laugh but this is seriously messed up
Its werid because Im an athiest but I want my future kids baptized. I was baptized in a Catholic Church just like my brother and two younger sisters. My mother's an atheist but my dad wanted to raise us Catholic so my mom told him go ahead but it'll be up to him to raise me that way. Never went to church a day in my life except for a few months when I was ten and guess who took me... My mother. I don't really remember why we stopped going but I remember the only part I liked was Sunday School and found that everything else was boring. Even though I don't practice religion and don't believe in it, I still want my kids to get baptized. Though it's mostly because it's a family tradition.
Why don't you believe in God?
@@ZaynneBlack For 2 reasons. I wasn't raised religous but I was still open to the idea of there being a god.
But then I stopped beleiving in god all together when my six year old step-cousin died in a tragic accident back in 2017. She was sliding down a pile of snow as a truck was coming into the parking lot. She got hit, and was announced dead on arrival at the hospital.
I hear the term "god's plan" a lot but I'm calling BS on that. I was told that God was all powerful and was fair. I can't beleive that because if it's true, why didn't he let my cousin live?
And there's so many horrible people in the world who deserve to get killed in an accident a lot more than an innocent 6 year old baby. Many more people who deserve to go more than my grandfather - who never hurt a fly yet died after suffeirng from cancer for months.
If there was a god. All death would be painless and children wouldn't die. I just can't wrap my head around an "all powerful" god not stepping in and saving innocent children, or causing us unimagable pain by taking away loved ones.
@@ashleylarocque4500 Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm truly sorry for all the trauma you've been through. I just lost my grandmother to cancer last week too, she suffered for the last three years but her faith in God made it easier on her, she passed away with a smile on her face. I've witnessed a lot of traumatic experiences as well, first hand and second hand and I find it hard to wrap my head around the suffering in this world. However, my relationship with God is the one thing that has always given me strength and hope and has completely changed my life for the better. God is the very embodiment of love, wisdom and righteousness, I choose to learn more about him and build on my relationship with him rather than straying away from him.
@@ashleylarocque4500 Also, the whole Bible is a testimony to the suffering of mankind and how their faith in God saved them. When God came to Earth in the form of a human, he was put through inhuman suffering at the hands of men. Jesus suffered in order that our sins be forgiven. I believe that suffering and salvation, good and bad is all part of this world. They exist mutually. However, if we keep our faith in God and strive to live according to his love and wisdom, we will be able to overcome everything that's of this world
Why doesent crazy grandma, just baptism the twins her self, baptism does not require a priest, anyone who is baptized can baptize.
