    I have spent a few hours trying to figure out why the S1 nanoKontrol 1 and 2 pre-made setup didn't work at all... Fortunately I stumbled across your video and I was able to make all the faders work as expected. Just a question, if I want to map all the knobs on the nanoKontrol as well, I assume that I need to do it by adding them manually as you demonstrated for the Transport controls towards the end of the video. In a different DAW my nanoKontrol worked without any issues, S1 is not recognizing it when using the pre-made settings which is not good at all. Thanks and best, MaxT

    • @MartinHeidenreichMusic
      @MartinHeidenreichMusic  7 месяцев назад +1

      I don't use Studio One anymore since at least two years but if I remember well then yes, you have to assign the knobs manually, which makes sense anyhow: at least you assign them to the functions you want

    Hi Martin, Thank you sooooooooo very much for the easy strength forward tutorial on the Korg controller installation. As soon as I get home I'm going to try it!!! One question has to do with the "vibrato" function in the "Kontack" player samples. You use Volume (Dynamic), Expression and Modulation. There are some samples that offer vibrato. Do yours that at all? Bets regards, Art Phinney. Composer/Song-Writer/Engineer

    • @MartinHeidenreichMusic

      @mosspa1 3 года назад

      Out of the box, NanoKintrol2 has SONAR compatibility. Since Bandlab has kept the whole SONAR core, I'm pretty sure that the settings should still work. I still keep Cakewalk by Bandlab on my system (I also have the last updated version of DONAR Platinum), because for about 10 years SONAR was my DAW of choice. This should work: Unplug USB to Nano. Hold down "Set Marker" and "Record" buttons on Nano. Go into Cakewalk's MIDI Device window and select NanoKontrol for both input and output. Then open Cakewalk's "Controllers/Surfaces" window and selecgt Mackie Control for the control surface. Finally select the Nano for the in/out ports to be used for Mackie control. That should get you an implementation where all the buttons, faders, and knobs on the Nano fo what they say on the printing on the Nano.

    • @mosspa1

      oops... the second step should have said "Hold down "Set Marker" and "Record" buttons on Nano while you replug the USB cable into the Nano." Sorry about that

    I have a NanoKontrol2 by Korg. I love the controller, but I haven't figured out one thing (to be honest, I'm not good at assigning CC values, etc., I prefer using it with DAW integrationg straight out of the box). I am an Ableton Live user, and NK2 works fine with the DAW control except for one thing. By default in Ableton's profile faders control track volumes. However, they don't work in the soft takeover / pickup mode. I mean if I use the first fader on track 1, and then use it on track 9, whenever I get back to track 1 and touch the fader, I'll get a volume jump. Does anyone know the way to fix it and still keep native support for Ableton? Cause the rest of the functions are perfect! Thank you and have a good day / night!!! ps. I think thouse value jumps occur in other DAWs as well, not just Ableton.

    • @MartinHeidenreichMusic
      @MartinHeidenreichMusic  2 года назад +1

      Yes, that's the same behaviour in Logic. As the start to record midi data newly from where they are at that moment. Need to adjust that manually, at least from what I know.

    • @СергейЦвикевич
      @СергейЦвикевич 2 года назад

      @@MartinHeidenreichMusic manual mapping isn't the best solution. During creative sessions you may add and delete tracks, and manual mapping is way too straight forward. If you map fader 1 to track 1, and then for some reason delete it (and track 2 becomes the new track 1), your fader 1 won't control anything any longer. And your new track 1 will be controlled by fader 2, etc. So it's not a kind of "intelligent" mapping as compared to native support. I heard people used some CC wizardy to change that and I'm looking for those who know how to fix it. There were also ISOTONIK scripts for KNK2 where this bug was fixed, I wanted to buy it actually, but it doesn't work in Ableton 11, and has some other drawbacks, too.
