As u say i think john is heavily underrated because everyone looks at him as a rhythm guitarist but he is capable of doing most things on a guitar and not just to show off its true feel and emotion coming from him, and the other thing is hes so technically advanced with all his gear and rhats a whole nother skill aswell ps i drive my girlfriend mad with chili peppers too 🤣🤣
Hey, I was wondering if you could very briefly give a short example of how to make this tone through fender tone? I don't have the money for so many peddles but would love to replicate this song somehow, and would appreciate the help since it seems you know a lot more than I ever could lol
The cheapest option would be a digital zoom ms50 g pedal for the weird solo part. It would also cover the phaser part too but they are used at the same time so a cheap Joyo phaser is best option. Then have a cheap delay pedal for the slapback, Joyo would also work for that. Just set the time accordingly and repeats only one time.
Pretty much except the dl4 1/4 note would have about 3 1/2 repeats. The digitech pds 32nd note would just have one repeat. Also, currently he’s using a boss dd 500 instead of the dl4. What delay pedals are you working with?
@@frusciantegeartone ok thanks, im running a boss dd7 but debating what i should get for a second digital delay that would be good for replicating John’s delay settings
@@joshtonkin7684 honestly for the quick 32nd note “slapback” delay, almost any delay would work. Digital would probably sound better. I like the mooer pedals for the price but the pedals usually add too many decibels when engaged. Since filming this video I removed my green delay pedal in the video and relying on my triple delay for both delays. I may do an update. The reason I bought the triple delay was for this song originally so I’ll probably make another video showing how to use it by itself for both delays.
@@Mateus.Sanches the main first part of the verse is palm muted. But that’s the only palm muted part. Once you do the “hammer ons” during the second part of the verse it’s no longer palm muted. I tried with wah always on and it sounds ok but only the second verse. The first verse doesn’t use wah. Hope that helps!
This is almost totally wrong hehehe John uses de SD1 and SD2 I believe, and he also has the wah pressed on with the guitar at the neck pickup. I can't figure it out quite yet how is the order on pressing the pedals during the song. Definitely 0 delay in the bridge/chorus part
You’re correct about his recent use of the sd1! But if you watch this live performance ruclips.net/video/fV9IJVoFR_Q/видео.html and listen at 4:33 you can hear the delay fade out after the chorus/bridge. He uses the delay the entire song on the middle pickup. Wah also doesn’t start until 2nd verse. Thanks for watching 🎸
It is! Signal chain is DS2-fuzz-wah.. I just didn’t have room on the board. You can see the fuzz blue output cable going into the wah input. But yes you are correct 🙏
I really wish more youtubers would do videos like this! Straight to the point, explaining what pedals you are using and the settings for them. Subbed
Thank you so much! 🎸

Thanks for posting, the slapback really makes it 🎸👍👍👍
You’re welcome! Thanks for checking it out!

So good to hear!
so would John have the DL4 on a 1/4 note delay with 1 repeat, and the Digitech PDS 1002 on a 32 note repeat?

You’re welcome dude! ✌️
I think that wh10 os always on, but in main riff he palm mute the notes. Maybe im wrong?
Could be! I’ll try that 🎸
@@frusciantegeartone tell me after you try, im trying todo get the best time tô this song. Thanks!

i play the e note over 1. and 2. string... and no repeater
Oh wow! That would be cool to see how you do that!
1. open string and 2. string 5th fret.. just sweeping over 2 strings with palm muting @@frusciantegeartone
wah pedal must be after ds 2
