I have been doing this for 3 years now. When using the store bought modpodge I noticed it smelled like Elmer's wood glue. So I watered some down and have been using that. I did not think of adding poly acrylic to it. Great idea.

It’s that easy . Thanks , I use this on train layouts to hold down dirt and grass and stones .

I use the homemade for the bulk of my project then do a final coat or 2 of Mod Podge. Saves a ton of money.

I’ve been decoupaging with watered down wood glue for years. Works just fine. I started using wood glue because I live in Europe and couldn’t get Mod Podge. It is available now but so darn expensive, it makes doing crafts a luxury! I never thought to use polycrylic, though. Thanks for the tip.

I've been making my own since highschool art class. But I never heard of using poly acrylic sealer. Good to know. I hate the smell of mod podge . I have allergies are awful. Anything I use in the house that produces smell, I get headaches. Think I'll try measuring from now on. Thanks for the info

Your varnish sealer powder would have to be water soluble, is why you use acrylic powder ?

Instead of pouring the water, scoup it with the measuring cup..

Thanks for the video. I am very hard of hearing so turned on the cc but it its all in Spanish and I sadly am not Spanish speaking. I made sure my choice was English on the cc. I ended up just turning the sound up as much as it would go.

Sorry about that I wonder if you have something in your settings that was making it do that.

Great tip. Today's Quote: Magic is believing in yourself if you can do that you can make anything happen." -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The only thing I dislike about mod podge is everything remains sticky after it's dry. Someone told me this is because I live in Florida which is a humid climate and that would be the reason it's sticky.Huge HUGS! Namesta 🐞🐞🐞

Can you use clear school glue? I bought 2 gallon jugs from Walmart for $7.00 each .
