I had the Air Hogs version of this and it was surprisingly fun for what it is. It always cracked me up because it just looks like it's not supposed to fly, but it does! And better with elevator control I'd imagine because the one I had was just a fixed wing that gave steady lift when you gave it full throttle. It stalls and recovers very nice too.

I must have went thru 8 of them in 1 summer for the original $100 i initially paid. That thing was tons of fun to fly. especially after you removed the prop protectors and stabilizer wing. smh lol. A tip for you or anyone else. Buy some 3M filament or strapping tape. It has strings in it. Comes in different widths. Put it on the bottom of those foam skids. It'll protect them and glide better across grass and snow. Won't come to a screeching halt on tar either. Very durable and easy to replace.
Had two of the air hogs back in the day. Gotta get one or two of these. Lol.

Mine arrived last week and I flew it twice yesterday morning. Handled sliding across the paved runway at the Club flying field for take-off just fine, and about as easy to fly as they come. This might just be the first thing I ever try to fly off water (not that we have a lot of water to fly from here in Southern Arizona...). Mine from Banggood was just under $60, and I anticipate easily getting more than $60 worth of fun out of it.

I had one like this in late 2000's called Mini Storm Launcher by Air Hogs, was pretty fun but doesnt look as refined as this. When it worked, the Air Hogs Autogyro was also pretty sweet. I also enjoy 'weird' planes. They had one that looked like the unique private jet Piaggio Avanti, called Acrojet which always looked great and flew nice with it's canards, t-tail and pusher motors.
I'd really like to get an Airco DH2 pusher biplane...looked like an ultralight but was armed for WWI.
Speaking of the same plane incessantly, how about that Timber? 🙄
I share the same disdain for the hobby industry's reliance on boring and worn out designs seen everywhere.

    • @Thrashaero
      @Thrashaero 11 месяцев назад

Just want to add that there was another design that actually flew wonderfully considering it's tiny size and differential control, also the most durable and looked much more elegant and cool actually. I wish I still had it, but moved so many times and it got damaged and lost.
I can't remember the name of it but it was just fairly small, black epp foam, and had orange pusher props. The stickers were like yellow background with blue text. It was like the storm launcher all terrain design like this, with the 3 body pods on one large wing but instead of large pontoons it had more like torpedo shaped skids with wingtips on the outside of them...and then a similar elevator style but secured to 3 vertical stabilizers, used pusher motors instead of pullers and was very stable and DURABLE. crashed the hell out of it and only managed to loosen the glue holding the elevator. never had to replace a prop.
I just wish I could remember the name so I could maybe find it and have it again? Anyone know??

I know these are both two completely different planes, but I’m trying to decide between the EC-1500 and the F-16 80mm. Which do you prefer? I have experience with edfs and warbirds. I’m trying to get the most worthwhile plane as I’m 15 and planes don’t come often for me.

The EC-1500 has more bang for the buck and is way more fun and versatile, IMO.

Not worried if the ailerons are gonna turn the plane or just make me fly sideways and can i get it back level with the tiniest of stick movement, Nope, Its getting away from me and i have to ditch it. Real airplanes dont fly like that, one stick does most of the work. I hate ailerons! Its funny that its easier for me to fly my 3D helicopter inverted then get it bavck to normal flight than it is to make a banked turn with a plane. Then everytime I fly I gotta glue the thing back together

The original concept was done 20 years ago and was a hit, was a DYS with foam board until the Chinese stolen the concept.

DeWalt.. that was the one I bought at Harbor Freight! And I was the yellow one! One carbon fiber wing spa thru the main body and straight out the wings. I'd crash it, break the out rigger floats, tape it as close as possible and the mutha fly all day! Flew and landed on water and it handled better the on the snow or road. Cruised Berryessa Lake, Suisun delta, Vallejo boat docks and always a crowd when I finished flying! It was my best go to flyer! I think I have it in storage. I'll check it and if I do I'll post it. Fly it if possible? Ohhellya!

Well if it's been 20 years, I'd hardly blame "the Chinese" (you sound like a racist when you say it like that, just FYI, you're not getting any Asian girlfriends with that attitude) for "stealing" a 20 year old concept.
Just FYI, the only RC RTR vehicles in the entire world are made in China or Japan, so deal with it.

@@mikefas5406$35 maaaaybe $40 for this differential thrust brushed motor sort of flying thing, max. Anything higher and it just isn't worth it. There are better planes out there for $60 or a bit more. I have an r/c plane with a brushless motor, and full rudder and ailerons, that also came with radio and batteries, and I only paid $70 for it, including shipping. The price point of this toy is way off.
