- A lot of history lies abandoned in the woods in Nova Scotia. We visit two sites from days gone by. You have to admit, finding evidence of past thriving communities and businesses left forgotten in the forest is a bit spooky, especially near Halloween.
Nova Scotia woods in the fall! Reminds me of when we moved here almost a year ago. Me and the dogs love the backroad adventures in the province too, it's such a unique place for it with a ton to see in a relatively small area compared to the larger provinces.
Agreed! So much to explore here, and fall is stunning. I’m excited for the colours already!
I love Nova Scotia, best place in the world (that I've seen, so far). I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. ❤❤
I think this spring I will saddle up my DRZ and try to find some of these places. Cool channel!
It’s so fun exploring the lesser known areas around us. Have a great ride on your bike and thanks for checking out the video.
Now that's pretty cool! Never knew about the natural park...perfect area for exploration! I would guess that there are plenty other places like this here in Nova Scotia. Bruce and Otis
It was a really cool spot! I’d love to camp there, so quiet and lovely lakes and a river.
My grandmother worked back there. They own the house halfway to Weymouth, so the workers would stay there and carry on the next day by horse and buggy.
Thank you for sharing. I love finding out lesser known history like that!
Great documentary. Editing skills are fantastic and probably not even what you do for a living. Kudos for the effort and information presented here. I’ll be checking out your channel. Subscribed today.
Thank you very much for checking out the video and for your kind words. You’re correct, we are both in health care field but really enjoy creating such content as this. Take care.
New France was also called Electric City ..not that it was an actual city but it did have the distinction of being the first village to be powered by electricity in Nova Scotia. The power being supplied by a water turbine.
The unknown history in the rural areas is amazing in this province, isn’t it? Thanks for checking the video out. Take care.
Old Nova Scotian here, wishing I were sixty years younger and able to enjoy life in my home province.
We’re happy to share our adventures so you can still get a peek into some NS exploring! Thanks for watching.

We find out locations by word of mouth and also through Google searches. Many others we come across incidentally.
You didn’t have to go Crossgates lane bridge to get there
We did, but this was before it was closed off. Thanks for checking out the video.
