  • A lot of history lies abandoned in the woods in Nova Scotia. We visit two sites from days gone by. You have to admit, finding evidence of past thriving communities and businesses left forgotten in the forest is a bit spooky, especially near Halloween.

Nova Scotia woods in the fall! Reminds me of when we moved here almost a year ago. Me and the dogs love the backroad adventures in the province too, it's such a unique place for it with a ton to see in a relatively small area compared to the larger provinces.

Agreed! So much to explore here, and fall is stunning. I’m excited for the colours already!

I love Nova Scotia, best place in the world (that I've seen, so far). I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. ❤❤

Now that's pretty cool! Never knew about the natural park...perfect area for exploration! I would guess that there are plenty other places like this here in Nova Scotia. Bruce and Otis

It was a really cool spot! I’d love to camp there, so quiet and lovely lakes and a river.

My grandmother worked back there. They own the house halfway to Weymouth, so the workers would stay there and carry on the next day by horse and buggy.

New France was also called Electric City ..not that it was an actual city but it did have the distinction of being the first village to be powered by electricity in Nova Scotia. The power being supplied by a water turbine.

The unknown history in the rural areas is amazing in this province, isn’t it? Thanks for checking the video out. Take care.

The good thing about these areas is, “like a fine wine”, they get better with time.

We find out locations by word of mouth and also through Google searches. Many others we come across incidentally.
