+Ondrej Vencovsky Ha, It's amazing how many people never knew you could duck down in this game lol. I'll be uploading Bruce Lee+ in a few days (modded), it has 2 ninja's at the same time as opposed to just 1 in the original making it a harder challenge.
Really enjoyed watching this. I used to play this as a kid but used to get bored keep starting back at the beginning once you died. Was good to see the last couple of levels and the end. I didn't know you could lie down either! Blast from the past!
+Vicky Victoria i was told in the comments below that this upload is the fastest completion of this game, if that's true then I will give it another go in a day or so as I know I can improve greatly on this as I was standing around a few times wasting time,...hmm, a world record run,...I just may give that a go shortly ;-) Thanks for popping by.
This game was mint for the time. Never actually completed it back in the day. But did eventually about a year ago. Classic, why did they never make a sequel, It could have been amazing?
There is a sequel which was made a few years ago, It's on PC but you can switch between C64 & CPC graphics (sadly not ZX), I will upload it soon but you can see it on "Alex86gr" channel if you type Bruce Lee II into youtube. Take a look at my WR Speedrun of this version, completed in 5m42secs :-)
@@ZEUSDAZ Bruce Lee Rx is mint to mate, just the same speccy game with better detail, more colour and different music, worth a shot. I did a review too for this on my channel if your interested👍🏻
this was fookin mint ! took skill and some strategy. kids these days !!! go on about FPS lag and the like ! shortish load time for the specbum. quality game.
bought this when it was released back in the day and to be fair it's hardly got anything to do with Bruce Lee as it's just a platformer. but pretty good platform game. only problem is that it's just too easy and not difficult to complete. you can run through it in a few minutes.
When I first got this game, I played it so much that my Cheetah 125+ joystick gave me a blister the diameter of a ping pong ball on the palm of my left hand from where I was holding it by the base. When I went up to my teacher's desk to show her my work a couple of days later when the skin had peeled off, she noticed the large raw area on my hand and asked me what it was. I explained to her that it was from playing a computer game, and she seemed incredulous and very concerned. I think she suspected that I was being abused at home or something! I had a faint scar on my hand for many years afterwards, and 30 or so years later, the skin is still a little thicker there than on the same part of my right hand. I finally managed to complete it about a month ago, fortunately without sustaining any injuries this time.
Ha lol, if I went into school as a teenager with a whacking great blister believe me they would think I've been abusing myself if you know what I mean lol ;-D
I once played this on an emulator and was like "What the actual fuck have I just spent the last 20 minutes playing?" Worst platform game ever, Bruce would've been insulted.
I think you'll be part of a minority in that sense mate, total classic on all the formats this came out on back in the day, if you knew what to do then you'd understand why it's been labelled as a classic by many gamers.
Absolute classic. Nice use of the body flattening to avoid attacks, never knew that was possible. I think that technique could beat the speedrun (ruclips.net/video/iiYy7VUZuXs/видео.html) if you fancy it. Well played anyway. EDIT: I just realised you had the intro, so this is definitely the fastest Bruce Lee playthrough on the net. Good job! :)
You may like this, I recorded a speedrun of 5m52s on this version during a livestream, I'm pretty sure it's a world record: ruclips.net/video/GRoR1l5iAtU/видео.html
I've longplayed every version imaginable. the Spectrum version is easily the most playable and responsive version, I also hold the world record speedrun of this version, completed it 5m52secs,...can be seen on my channel or link in these comments.
Zeusdaz - The Unemulated Retro Game Channel I don't say "it's not playable ", I said "it's awful ". Sorry but I prefer by far the c64 version. As I prefer rtype on the spectrum.
The main issue with the C64 version is the main character tends to stick when you want him to move quickly as if he's having the shakes, you'll certainly get no decent fast time trying to speedrun that version but the fluency off the ZX version gets past that problem, also I do prefer the black backgrounds of the ZX version as it brings out the foreground more.
Zeusdaz - The Unemulated Retro Game Channel i'm not an adept of speedrun and bruce lee on spectrum is no appelling to me.(I 'm a big fan of Bruce Lee and my favorite game on this actor is "Bruce Lee the return of the dragon " on gba). I'm french and the spectrum is new to me (I have an amstrad at the time, and as it the best selling 8 bits computer in our country some very good games have been made for it ), and I really want to know better this computer and I discover really good game like Rex. Overall I really like your vidéos and i'm proud of your response. Have a really good day and good game.
BRUCE LEE WORLD RECORD SPEEDRUN - ZX SPECTRUM "5m42s": ruclips.net/video/acmWRClWZY8/видео.html
Me and my brother we used to play this game so much, and we had so much fun. ;-) and we had records of it, crazy times .... miss being a kid ;-)
What a game, absolute classic. The hours me & my friends used to spend on this. Great memories
Ahhh memories of this. Ninja and the other one was called the "Green Yamo" I think! Good two player game. My dad would even play it.
Loved this game, I did so many walk throughs of this game.
Ty for the blast from the past 👍🏻
A classic of classics. Oh the memories!
Awesome, not seen this game for over 30 years....used to love it!
I used to play this game so much when I was a kid that I learnt it by heart.
+oberstul
Yeah same here, after this I was able to finish all versions without cheats.
I remember always clocking this game, I always loved this and Ikari Warriors.
Yeah but could you beat the best?!,...ME! ;-)
Oh, it is possible to lay down on the floor! Eh, now I need a time machine...

love the 8 bit sounds..the bass click is actually part of the gameplay..sample time anybody??
Боже, как я ее обожал... Как 33 года назад перенесся.
I'd totally forgotten all about this game, but watching the video and I just realised that this was the first and only speccy game I ever completed.
Classic.
My first game where I understood what I was doing.loved it
This game was unbelievably hard but addictive.
Nostalgic. I've played this after school. In turns with my classmates)
A Gods game if you know secrets.......
I like this game more than Sega for one reason - it's more like an adventure than fighting game.

Childhood best memories❤😂
Love this game!!
I remember. I must have it. How do I get this back?
I just read that Speccy and Amstrad port was made by US Gold, so they did produced something good once in a while :)
Yep it's a rare thing but it does happen on a rare occasion.

Just cashes in on his name. And, as you say, it is far too easy once you have learned the game’s ins and outs and the timing of certain things.
I used to play this just to hear the multitone title music!
Gah, this is an old upload, you should check my WR speedrun video of it on this channel! :-D

Chuckie Egg meets Martial arts = Bruce Lee.

BRUCE LEE+ (ZX SPECTRUM - FULL GAME): ruclips.net/video/hcW-D7llkPQ/видео.html
This is a tougher MOD of the original.
No, he was yellow lol, but i think that would look shit having him yellow.
Норм.
This game could be named anything really. Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Rambo, Popeye etc
Yeah BUT IT'S BRUCE LEE MAN!!! :-D
Oh yeah.. now that i look at this tiny guy i can definitely tell it's him.. no doubt it's mr Lee alright
How could you not see that, skin tone, height, build and hair cut exactly the same as Lee.
And definitely his kung fu moves.
never played this game
LET'S PLAY "MANY VERSIONS OF" BRUCE LEE (+ BRUCE LEE II): ruclips.net/video/EaPejdoZnKw/видео.html
Yammo could climb up ladders on speccy version, he didn’t on c64
This is a much better version.
I once played this on an emulator and was like "What the actual fuck have I just spent the last 20 minutes playing?" Worst platform game ever, Bruce would've been insulted.

Man, you have no sense of humor. This game is a silly joke; so, do yourselves a favor and don't take it seriously.

Is it?! I never went for a time record, maybe if I did I would complete it even quicker :-D
Thanks for stopping by my channel!

Hey bruce Lee wasn't black
I loved this game so much! Shame the fat guy was so useless when playing 2 player.
What d'you expect? He's fat! Fat men can't do much. I should know because I'm a fat man.
Bruce Lee is a good game. But on spectrum it's really bad. It's just awful.
I've longplayed every version imaginable. the Spectrum version is easily the most playable and responsive version, I also hold the world record speedrun of this version, completed it 5m52secs,...can be seen on my channel or link in these comments.

I disagree totally, It was a spectrum classic all the way!!
