- Zeus presents Cookie (un-emulated) for the zx spectrum, a true classic from the golden era of spectrum gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game.
Year of release: 1983
Another timeless classic from Ultimate, running around the kitchen trying to make a cake out of horrible wiggly things that you'd find Berk from "The Trap Door" normally dealing with.
Five different levels to get through to make the cake, then it rolls back to level 1.
Good laugh!

First game I played on my Spectrum 48k. There was also Pssst, Chequered Flag and Chess included 👌
First game that I've ever completed in my life.I was 4 yrs old, back in 1991. :)
I still think this si the best of the Ultimate games. It could have been adapted as an arcade game proper, maybe with some different cakes added to the mix.
Loved this game, bought it from the local news agent for £1.99 back in the day

Great game haven't played it since the 1980s, good fun. i'm sure the bin character was inspired by Oscare off Sesame Street.

I can't help thinking the 'bake the car' stage in the movie Wreck it Ralph was inspired by this game.

Can anyone give me idea of controls of this game ? I have a port of Cookie on Russian PC Vector O6C and for 15 years I couldn't have a single play of this game because there is no instruction. Ironically this was one of the first games I ran on Vector 06 C. When game starts and I try to use right left up down arrows controls Chef reacts only to pushing the down key by going down to the bowl or to the dust bins. When Chef touches the bowl or the dust bins there is no way to make him move. Then a bolt or a worm appears out of the dust beans and heads directly to the Chef, then Chef dies, 1 life minus. What is this game and the controls. Please, you will make my day.
If you are using a ZX Spectrum, select keyboard and the keys to control are: UP=R, DOWN=E, LEFT=Q, RIGHT=W, FIRE=T.
You can also use the following keys if you select "Cursor" joystick then press 0 to start game: UP=7, DOWN=6, LEFT=5, RIGHT=8, FIRE=0.
I have no idea though if these will work on your Russian machine as I've never seen or used one, if your machine has a keyboard then I don't see why these wouldn't work on your machine also.

It seemed better at the time.
It's pretty fun but once you loop it it loses It's appeal.
