'Piglet' has excellent screen presence and is most informative: never lost for words. I was fortunate to travel on this and other UK heritage (and lots of main/branch lines) a few years ago on a trip from distant Australia. Loved how it connected so easily at Whitby or Grosmont to railcars from/to Darlington. Well done to all.
That’s a really informative update, without the histrionics and false jeopardy that terrestrial TV thinks it needs. I had my first experience of preserved railways at Grosmont in 1982/1983 sleeping in the railways cottages by the shed ( long gone I expect ) and had as a rookie cleaner a first memorable footplate trip on the RSH 0-6-0 tank Meteor. Great to see it all going well 38 years later !
Hi Piglet and all, how very nice to get this behind-the-screen showing. When things go back to normal, one thing I want to do, is fly over from home in Sweden and visit the NYMR!
Splendid. Job both in your comments and the work done. I’m surprised that there’s concrete in the smoke box. Why is this? My complements to you and staff. I’m a Yank who’s ridden behind BR steam. Lucie is amazing: so lively with such small drivers. Thanks for a great video,
I can only endorse those comments. Thank you "Piglet" great, informative commentary. All power to your multitude of spanners, whatever, by way of restoration.
Hello Piglet and North Yorkshire Moors Railway, that’s a good video. Poor Repton, I hope she’s going to be ok. I’m glad 4MT 80136 is doing well. I must say, lucie runs well too. Merry Christmas and happy new year, I’ve had a good time up there in NYMR, I can’t till next year in 2021. From Josh
Hi all at NYMR. I used to be a Signalman on the Railway. & still love to travel on trains. I'd also love a tour of the Signal Boxes on the NYMR. Let's hope we can all travel soon.
Hi Piglet and the team. Nice to see the hard work and good spirits. Looking forward to being able to travel again and take a trip. In the meantime enjoying the update. Happy Christmas - Gary
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all the team at NYMR ..Thanks for the update piglet..Everything is looking brill!! Please keep the videos coming, helps to keep us oldies from going doolally what with covid business...lol. Thanks again...Keep up the great work.
Hi Piglet - we are based quite close to the NYMR so it is 'our local' heritage railway. We'd normally be there and riding on the line at least 5-6 times a year and if we don't have time to ride we stop by one of the stations for a snack or a meal and buy odds and ends from the shed shop or station shop. We have obviously missed all that and I don't imagine we will be seeing you and the rest of the gang on CH5 this year? Don't worry, we will all be back as soon as normal service is resumed. You've featured 80136 in this video, but can I ask what's happening to her green sister 80135? I can remember that one being a hard worker for you in the noughties but she seemed to have been stood at the back of Deviation shed for a very long time the last time I was there.
Always enjoy watching these little vids, I'm moving back to Guisborough in January after being away for quite a few years and will be hoping to get into some voluntary work with you guys if possible sooner than later.🙂
Brilliant video today Piglet. Is there any chance you can include an update on the class 24 and 25 seen in the video? PS I love steam and diesel locos. Happy Christmas to the NYMR Team regards Ian Swindon.
Great to see the railway still at work, and the huge contribution of your dedicated staff ably lead by Piglet. I hope the cash is still coming in to support your efforts?
Hi , Just wondering what the current situation is on 70037 the W.D shunter (no.16). Any info would be helpful as i love this loco for it's history and quirkiness. Great video, keep up the progress. Thanks.
the components with all the holes (firebox and boiler?), why can't one be fitted to the other (temporarily) while holes are drilled through both to ensure the holes line up? I am not an engineer, just curious....
Can I ask question about the Q6, I'm an NER man, why isn't this locomotive branded as NER Class T2 2238, It's the last one in existence, surely it deserves to be put back to Its original conception...

What's happening with 80135? Regards to Sean from Munich. David
Really interesting 👍🏻
does the Q6 now belong to nymr as I was a volunteer at hopetown when it was first rebuilt and belongs to nelpg

... and what about my 80135?
Question? Coal??? where is it going to come from now?
I want to volunteer
Hi piglet I have a question how is your 9f one of a kind when there is 10 of them? (I've been watching the programme on channel 5)
It's the only single chimney preserved 9f that's it it's the chimney I wonder if it runs differently from a double chimney 9f
@@jameshardy4354 thx
Modern day Fred Dibner!
0:54 - Where's Little Eva?
Surly she should be helping do the locomotion???
-It's been a tough year...............
can u do a video showing us hartland please?
Her overhaul seems to be taking fore ever
@@jameshardy4354 if they did a video showing us update on hartland that would be great
Quick question: Did Piglet get his name from Piglet from Winnie The Pooh?
I wouldn't bother with schools. Southern region rubbish oh unless they were on the S&D. GWR ,Midland yay.
In future videos can we have please have more of the subject matter in the shots and not your head filling half the screen !
