Piglet Chats…'Repton' No. 926 out on test run at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway

- Piglet Chats...This time Piglet, Barney and Mike have 'Repton' in steam at the MPD to do some crucial running in, out on the line between Grosmont and Goathland. This is to ensure everything is running correctly, after some winter maintenance, and that the locomotive is fit for service.
We also pay a special tribute to Stuart Dennis, MPD fitter, who we sadly lost earlier this week. Stuart was a key member of staff at the MPD and will be missed by all.

Good to see the NYMR is still keeping going and in good spirits despite the sad loss. Piglet truly a talented chap (or is that Piglet?). Have enjoyed my visits over the recent years. Best wishes and hope things get back to some sort of normal soon. Looking forward to the next update.

Great to see Repton in steam again. She’s looking superb. Well done to all you saints who’ve kept going throughout this pandemic and continued to preserve a massively important piece of British history. I’m not local and have not visored your railway, but when I’m in the area next, I will be sure to visit. Until then, it’s the tv show for me! Keep up the great work!!

NYMR and videos such as this are how I start my "daily" routine here in Vero Beach, FL. NYMR webcams are wonderful to watch as I plan my visit after the CV-19. I am proud to contribute if even in a small way to such a profoundly dedicated group of volunteers & skilled professionals. If I lived there, it would be my choice for retirement to join these volunteers with pride. Dan Nelson

Good video certainly not enough by the chaps who rebuild, drive, or fire them. Especially by the fitters, boilermakers, etc. Its a breath of fresh air in the video world of steam. My condolences to your Mates family, fellow railwaymen, and friends! Thanks for posting this Piglet and look forward to many more to come. Repton looks good and well cared for job well done!

very nice video of repton what a beautiful loco, its been a while since i have seen a schools class because i live in norway, the only schools class i have seen is 925 cheltenham on the watercress line.
one question is why does a locomotive have two sight glasses?
Please show Piglet this comment...….I've see the NYMR on the TV with the small episodes but I haven't been there before. really want to meet you piglet. I'm nowhere near the NYMR as I'm in the west midlands but I want to become a volunteer at the SVR seven valley railway. I've never seen piglet, barnie, or mark in real life but seen you all on RUclips. my next goal is to see you in real life. Specially you piglet. Who knows i might see you at the SVR on a gala if you lend a loco over. I've seen the TV documentary when you and mark were trying to get Q6 ready for 100 year old loco gala at SVR but I saw it there so I New it would make it as it took TV a while to edit it.

@@926.repton does Piglet know if the Germans used his engine Lucy during WW2 i Live in France and there's a standard gauge steam locomotive in Brittany Named Princess who was used by the Germans during the war while they was trying to drive the Allies out of Normandy, i understand that she was later saved from being scrapped by being used as a stationary boiler until some people brought her and then restored her back to working order as a Monument of France.
