Good is not cheap and cheap is not good ! keep moving forward with this one !
Old man tools are the best. Congratulations.
Nice lift. Maybe Santa will bring me one, for Christmas.
Nice lift! Great video!!!!
Thanks! I love it. The nice part is it can hang on the wall when I don't need it.
I predict by the end of next episode it roars to life!
Nope
Great video. That lift is awesome. Need to install the weber windows on my bug.
It's a game changer. Soooo easy to work on the carbs! It's like a hippie hatch for bugs!
The top of your breather box needs to go to the carbs. I don't recognize that particular breather box, but you definitely want to vent the valve covers to the bottom or side of that breather box.
I had to order the breather hose, just came in today!
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good ;-)
Agreed!
That is an amazing install. Super nice lift. Since Daniel installed the engine tins on my bus, I have had a little issue with vapor lock. Help🤗
Is the passage for the preheat tube clear? A little tweak to the mixture screw can sometimes help that as well.
You know the motor will flex to the side when you pop the clutch . those air cleaners are to close to the fender walls .
With all the stiffening I did to the frame it shouldnt.
How am I just now noticing that grey beauty on the other side of the garage!? A pox upon me!
It's a 62 Rag, but it IS pretty cool.
@@OldVolksTV It is DEFINITELY cool.
Did you put a quality grommet on that brake line? If not vibration will cut it. No matter though that engine will never run right anyway.
I use a piece of fuel line where it passes through the firewall tin. It should run pretty good. Not sure how it'll handle the heat of summer, but that's not my concern. No warranties on used engines!
Cool lift Jason, I'd love to have one. but I don't see the link. Do they have other models? If a "z" rack was added it could add more lift. (I heard you say that's all you want or need. I'm just sayin , I'm pulling a page from my early days when I built a mini truck lowrider with a full hydro set up AND a full dancing bed kit with that's right you guessed it a "z" rack on the bed for more articulation. Anyway, this has been a really good series. Those weber windows are a must if running dual carbs in a bug fosho!

@@OldVolksTV cool thanks Jason
Looks like your missing the tin behind the pulley
Yup. The superflow head tins and the way they did the oil fittings made it impossible to install it. I'm making a one piece breastplate tin that fits pretty tight so the exhaust heat stays away from the engine bay.
I don’t know for sure of what combination this guy has in that engine , but it’s my guess the engine is small with a huge cam. With those super flow heads it won’t run worth a crap. Another “ VW” guy who thinks that more is always better. Not true. You should have put wing nuts on all the installation nuts. It will be out again soon.
It's a 2.0l or more based on the outer diameter of the jugs and the width between the exhaust ports. (Stroker). I'd imagine it also has a wild cam. Engine came out of a sand rail. I advised against it, but we work with what we have.
