G'day,
An update on my last posts.
When making my windows, i made 4 plates. One on each side of the panel. But when i was about to weld them on l had a revolution from the VW gods.
Why not use 3m panel bond. This stuff is awesome. Using this certainly saves alot of welding and the end result is very very strong.

Screws and sealant would work as well as welding with no chance of fire.

I have seen holes cut for this reason,but really are they needed? What did the old timers do lol
You can do without but it’s tight. Carbs and manifolds come out in one piece to change plugs. It’s best if yo use Berg linkage. Turning any adjusting screws is almost impossible without the windows. I’ve done it on by 63 hot rod, but I don’t know how.
can you reach the top bell housing bolts from there ?
The Wolfsburg West wiring harnesses are really good, and they actually come with complete instructions.
With that big ole engine in there you won't be able to see the inside of the install so no worries my man! Outside was definitely the way to go...soooo much easier to remove the window from the outside! #igottalearnhowtoweldsomeday
