Fun fact: during Vietnam, the M16 was developed, however Springfield (I think) was uninterested in producing it and would have rather produced the M14 instead, but the U.S. government was stern on them producing the M16. So near the start of the war, they used old artillery ammo gun powder instead of that intended for rifles, causing the M16 to malfunction frequently and the death of several US soldiers.

@45Gunner556 those never existed, from what it seems. Just an urban legend that's reasonably believable
30 round mags did exist in Vietnam but were so incredibly shoddy it didn’t matter.
Actually as a follow up even that 20 round mag springs sucked that most soldiers loaded 18 rounds only
@@TyphoonBlast Was the design busted, it was this attributable to the lack of maintenance tools in the HUMID JUNGLE XD
The mag followers(Thing that pushes round up) was on a shitty spring that broke alot, so it failed to feed or just outright snapped and didn't feed at all
@Ben_Boos Actually, It was mostly just superstition. The M16 was prone to jams, and soldiers got a little superstitious about it
@@harperthegoblin superstition definetly played a part in it, but government contracts also played another part of it, cause I have seen even "modern" stanag mags break the spring

Your M60 sight came from the M60-D, the aircraft mounted M60 that came with an anti air sight so that is a correct.
However, the foregrip is from the M60E3 which is introduced after vietnam
@@nicholasmontgomery8594 I could’ve chosen the normal sight but the gunner sight gave better visibility, I didn’t see an option to remove the foregrip unfortunately

British one would be easy as there's quite alot of mods for different periods.
Cold War - FAL/SLR, Browning Hi-Power, Sterling SMG, Bren
WW2 - SMLE or No.4 Rifle, Webley Revolver, Bren, STEN gun, double barrel shotgun, Welrod
Modern - L85, AWM/AWP, M249, Glock 19, Kukri (Take of a Nepali regiment but let's gloss over that..) and Benelli M4
And of course... Butter knife for all periods.
Just FYI the M14 did have a full auto fire mode as it was a mid century battle rifle it was just extremely unwieldy
We need a part 2 with Far Harbor. Got some more Hippies to deal with there.

Ok only thing missing in the intro is gunfire, random explosions and some helicopters with veterans in it blasting some badass music as they are flying by

14:20 You know whats funny? You could've probably used a MOPP Suit or vietnam war era chemical suit for this run since it was a very common part of the average GI's equipment during the war.

@Ben_Boos my dad was a Vietnam vet, so several times I could hear him in my head, Damn hippies was one of them, but die hippies was funnier mowing down the children of Adam. And more than once as a kid he did say "watch out for Charlie" and "the VC would never (enter current subject)". He for sure had PTSD, he saw a lot of combat and friends die.

Tbh I think that of all the environments in which you can fight (mountains, frozen wasteland etc.) the jungle sucks the most: humid, hot, intense sun, bugs, parasites, ambushes, booby traps…my god what a hell

This is an underrated channel.
Someone needs to make a viatnam replacer mod for this game, changes the equipment and world map, making it more like that

Fun fact, one of the reasons Vietnam veterans dislike the m16 was because the 5.56 round would key hole when shooting through the foliage. While the 308 went through anything and everything.

If you meant the clips where I was introducing the guns? That was actually after the ending of the run to show off the weapons. I probably should have put a bit of text clarifying that…
The only thing that I'm disappointed about this Vietnam run, was the lack of napalm action (specifically napalm from the M2 flamethrower because the used it until it was replased by the M9 flamethrower.)
I actually did a run as a Vietnam Mac-V operator with a XM177 from the SREP pack which is the same service rifle that you used but more comprehensive mods and I roamed the Commonwealth with a M1911, XM177, M60 and a Ka-Bar the whole time whilst working for the BoS.
I'm also currently doing a CIA run where everything is modern with the weapons being a SIG MCX, SIG P320, M110, Benelli M2 Agency and also modern armor from the PMC pack with FAST helmet mod and I'm siding with the Railroad cuz... You know, how the CIA always funds underground "terrorists"?

M14 aren't necessarily semi auto, rather it's not recommended to full auto them due to the high rate of fire making it inaccurate,M21 on the other hand is fixed to semi auto

30 round mag existed way before A2 were created,but saw mid service
